Next Modular Building?

Recommended Posts

A corner flower shop would be great!

There's a gorgeous corner florist here in Cincinnati that I think would look awesome as a modular:

The ground floor facade is painted light purple - would be a great opportunity to incorporate Medium Lavender bricks into a modular!

Iron Mac posted this in the 2013 City thread:

Reading the Brickset forum, I came across another rumor:

The ripcords are on a sort of land vehicle as small as the spinners but sold like Ninjago in singles or 2 packs with tons of accessories. The vehicles are awesome in CHIMA as well they look like the character ( the alligator sea ship looks like an alligator face with heavy artillery and brand new wings for the eagle and hawk characters just wait I'm not making this up trust me you'll see you may or may not like it but theres a ton of it coming out all at once Jan 1st with the galaxy space and turtles and new star wars , ninjago , hero factory, a new palace cinema building to go with the big buildings emporium pet shop ect.,

(Bold typeface added by me)

Some new modular cinema building maybe?

I thought Jamie suggested something obvious in one of his remarks during that interview. Something about always burning his food or something which led a lot of people thinking it was a restaurant.

We shall wait and see what happens.

I remember him saying that and thinking the same thing. A cinema sounds great though. The town plan version was always too small for my tastes.

I'm sure if it is a Cinema it will be a nice Art Deco stile one!

Perhaps he was referring to them burning his popcorn?

I wish that's what it was. But no, here's the question asked, and his answer:

5. What's the next Modular Buildings set? I don't think you'll answer this one, it has to be a secret :-)

We have lots of secrets that we have to keep. Don’t tell anyone this secret, but I’m not a very good cook. I once managed to burn soup!

It'll be a soup kitchen!

OK, maybe a restaurant? We had a fish in the pet shop, plus what Jamie hinted at...

Or a bakery?

We definately need a old style Police station like this one.

canton_police_station.jpg

With the orb style lamps outside the main door, plus if you had the stairs going up so the entrance is not on the ground floor you could then have cells underneath

Would make a good corner set, put a Archway/Garage entrance for a squad car.

Hello! I think we might already have the answer when reading

this on smashing-bricks.com today:

"(Update 12th Sept: Added some detailed news on City sets.

Here we go again, rumours are starting to spew out from the

creative labs of LEGO for 2013! Keep your eyes glued to this

post for more updates as more news pop up.)

Modular Building:

pezdez, an “ex LEGO person”, has seen lots of the line up for 2013.

He has graced us with tons of interesting tidbits and info. Read on!

“A new palace cinema building to go with the big buildings emporium

pet shop etc.”

I’ve heard rumours of this but it seems like it’s coming true!

A new cinema for all modular building collectors!

What about this:

If jamie's hint would turn in the direction of something food,

wouldn't it be a great idea to have some sort of homeless shelter?

Keep in mind that every modular so far had it's own theme/story to it.

The Green Grocer wasn't just a building, a lot of props and extra's

provided the theme there. Same with the FB, TH, GE...

A HS would make a lovely addition IMO...

A cinema would be a great addition.

Really looking forward to when Jamie or Astrid makes a fake user on Eurobricks and says:

"Hey I'm new here... but I came acros these interresting pic's of the new modular"

Hmm...I'm not so sure of the cinema hint... You would think Jamie would be more in the know than an ex LEGO employee(depending, of course on what his job status was). I don't know what burning soup has to do with a cinema...but maybe they serve soup in Europe at the cinema?

I suppose it is imaginable that they would have for some reason changed the releasing order of upcoming modular buildings since early April when Jamie cast that burning soup hint. That would make both Jamie and pezdez correct at their time.

A funny (and to me, of course, tragic) little anecdote, which I thought would fit in this discussion as relevantly as anywhere else - A few weeks ago, I attended the wedding of a relative. Each guest was given a small 'catalogue' with a few lines of information about each of the other guests.

Well, it said about one of the guests that she was educated as an architect, but had since been employed by Lego. Since I figured that Lego was a big company with thousands of employees, most of whom aren't doing the interesting things, and since she wasn't seated at my table, I never went to talk to her. Her name was Astrid. And, as it turns out, that Astrid.

I still have a relative whose wife is a friend of her boyfriend, though, so there's a chance I might still get to talk to her (and tell her my utmost appreciation of the Town Hall). Although it would seem a rather stalker-y thing to do, so I'll try to wait for a reasonable situation for it.

It is seem that both rumors what we are hearing are cinemas or restaurant might be next Lego modular building so far. Maybe we would see both of them come out as one big set or two separate sets in the near future?
