Gunner Posted January 23, 2011 Hello again! This is my second LDD creation to be shared in the forum. The Proton Cannon is a Separatist weapon that played major roles in the Battle of Ryloth and in the Second Battle of Geonosis, destroying many Republic ships during the fight. Reference picture: My model: Front view: Back view: By turning the lower gear the cannon inclines backward, like the official one. Inclined: Seat: Comparison with the cannon from 7869 Battle for Geonosis set: More pictures in my brickshelf gallery (when moderated). Critics and comments are welcome. Thanks for reading! Masked Builder Posted January 23, 2011 Not bad at all. The legs look a bit long if you ask me other then that it looks fine. Could you share the LXF file with us?
Brickdoctor Posted January 23, 2011 Very nice again, Gunner. I think the barrel may be a tad short, though.
XimenaPaulina Posted January 24, 2011 Very nice LDD MOC Gunner, I think you pretty much corrected the improper size and dimensions of the official Proton Cannon. I think the length of the legs are just about right, the reference photo is a bit misleading when viewed at that angle. Any plans of doing this in real brickbuild? And if ever you decide to share the LXF, I'll be more than happy to include this in the EB MOC LXF Index.
Gunner Posted January 24, 2011 Thanks. Unfortunately, i can't build it in real life because i don't have the necessary parts and order the pieces from bricklink would become extremely expensive for me. But i would be very happy if any member try to build it. (Some pieces would have to be changed because of the colors -mostly dark and light bluish gray, nothing crazy like swapping black for red- but most of them exist in real). I've added the LXF File in the Eurobricks MOC LXF Index Topic Gunner
