CAD MOC of Tsar Cannon

This to make up for my "smart alec" post here.

A quick CAD MOC of the Tsar Cannon.

tsar_cannon2.gif

The only hard part was finding 'Wheel Spoked 7 x 7 x 2 & 2/3' (55817)

55817.jpg

I will not be building this, If you want to, reply and I'll give you the parts list and count.

I am sure you can make it more decorative than my CAD drawing.

That will make the battlefield go BOOOOOOOOMMM!! :pir-grin:

It looks great! But the only thing is that the colours look a bit weird, but it's historic accurate....Who cares?! :pir-tongue:

Reminds me of the Big Bertha's which were used in Belgium during WWI.

Nice drawing, RTN LNA.

First I should say that I have seen the Tsar Cannon in person this year (2008) when I was in Moscow and visited the Kremlin.

Found a good picture with a view of the backend

So I changed the CAD MOC a little:

View of backend:

tsar_cannon_rear.gif

I added a Turntable 2 x 2 Plate with a Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Long Towball so you could hitch a few (4 or 6) horses to it.

Thanks!

Actually, that's the color of the green patina (rust if you want) formed when bronze (in this case) is weathered/exposed to air over a period of time.

And I checked that colors available for the cannon barrel parts, like 3063 comes in both green and sand green. The interesting thing about the sand green 3063 part is that the only appearance of it was:

SandGreen: 4 in 3450-1 - Statue of Liberty Sculpture (2000)

for exactly this reason, The Statue of Liberty has a green patina!!!

Also you are not likely, to make this MOC in these colors because of the cost of 40 sand green 3063s, bricklink Price Guide for the SandGreen 3063.

Of coarse you could use less "weird" and less expensive colors...

Ha that's a BIG cannon, and a nice rendition you did of it.

The sand green would make a nice patina color as it is today, i think dark orange would resemble the bronze best if it were new.

Glad you enjoyed it!.

I agree, "dark orange" is in fact the color I use on my bronze swivel guns:

They are used on the black pearl-lite as well, as other ships of mine:

I don't want to meet THAT on the battlefield! :pir-oh3:

Another great creation. I agree about the idea of making large cannonballs as well.

It would be terryfying to see and hear but i dont think it would be s effective. not in a staged battle . but coming to siege, ai ai. thats a wall breaker :pir-skull:

but a nice cannon :pir_laugh2:

Well the canon is huge and impressive,But that sphere ball might be a tad too big because I have those pieces and MUCH SMALLER then the canon ball.

That is one amazing cannon, and I remember seeing one of those sued in the new age of empires game actually...it was awesome. and funnily enough i think I know the name scientifically for the weathering of bronze, isn't it copperhydroxicarbonate? not sure how its spelled but I know thats what its called :pir_laugh2:
