  1. This is my mod of the Mystery Machine. I think LEGO did a great job with the set but I wanted the van to be able to fit all of the gang. The sides no longer open but the van has doors that open in back. The interior is chock full of detective gear and can fit 3 figs in the front and two in the back. More pics can be found here. Let me know what you think!
  2. So I woke up the morning of Sept. 22nd, 2022 to the news Winter Village set 10308 - Holiday Main Street had been revealed. I liked some of it (Trolley FTW!) but the buildings were lacking "something". So, I tried to recreate the music store in LDD to fix what I thought I needed to fix. That quickly turned into full-blown MOC only slightly inspired by the set with a fold-open back wall and vastly different interior. More recently, I revisited it to add in a bay window, elongate the second floor, and revise the troublesome roof with a design inspired by set 10246. (Detective Office modular building) The lower floor has got a sales desk with old fashioned cash register, a scale for weighing packages, and a couple safety deposit boxes. The poster on the wall above the boxes will be a "most wanted" mugshot, for a true post office feel. Moving on, the upper floor is the sorting room, with bunches of drawers for route maps / address change requests / etc., cubbyholes for outgoing mail, and trashcans for dead letters. The table is for where the postal employees do the sorting. The rear of the building has a service door to give access to big trucks for delivery / pickup of cross-country mail. The 8-wide postal delivery vehicle was heavily inspired by free instructions for a 6-wide hi-rail vehicle (called the Stud Inspector) I found at the bottom of this page by Brick train Depot. It really is a cool model, and a neat callback to the "Rivet Counter" trucks you sometimes see on (non-LEGO) model railroad layouts. I added a opening rear loading door, a different color scheme, and (of course) revised it to 8-wide. Thoughts, anyone? EDIT 2/3/23: Revised model, added new pictures. For comparison, here is the original MOC:
  3. Hi, EB friends, long time no see. The first time to build a Lego car entirely by Studio 2, locked at home for a month because of the COVID, a new experience. This model is Tianjin Dafa tj110 taxi, the original version is Daihatsu Hijet s70 850, I made the Dakar minivan, again. Two chassis, one is Buggy motor and the other is L, uses front twin A-arm independent suspension and a rear four-link solid axle. Dimension:L29 x W15 x H16cm,Weight:1100g Instructions for free Buggy motor version: https://reb.li/m/116376 Thanks ;)
  4. Hello! After being inactive for quite some time I managed to build another model - VW EuroVan T4 RC! It features some RC and manual functions: - RWD (unlike the real model), driven by a buggy motor (slow output) - steering with a Servo motor - suspension on both sides (independent rubber suspension in the front and live axle in the back) - working headlights and taillights - openable bonnet with some minor detailing underneath - easy acces to the BuWizz module through an openable door on the roof - everything is powered by BuWizz 2.0 Model's chassis is supposed to be an improved version of one of my previous creations, this time it got better steering stability. I kept the wheels bigger along with the arches, as it provides better performance. All in all, it turned out pretty fun to drive! (However, the ground clearance isn't the best, so I prefer keeping it indoors :D) Video link: Some photos: Thank you!

    Vehicles in my town: updates

Hello people! This summer I've updated several MOC vehicles in my town. Hope you'll enjoy! first, the taxi: now converted to 6-wide and a few more realistic touches; The TV van has been updated too; Tow truck totally rebuilt; more realistic look for the hot rod; total rebult for the ambulance too; Mail delivery van converted in a 3-wheeled van (like an Ape Piaggio) so it can move with more agilty into narrow streets; and finally the car transported, with updated mechanism: Hope you liked these vehicles and if you want to see more check my flickt gallery: Salvatore | Flickr
  7. I needed a cozy little riot van for my custom Lego city (that is a feminist police state). And I wanted it to be cute, but still a bit menacing. As inspiration I looked at Turtles Party Wagon. Here's some pictures, and at the bottom there's a Let's build video.

  11. Inspired by the Speed Champions cars. Last year I built a car showroom to show them off. Al's Autos is built on 3 large baseplates. On the left baseplate the blue and white sign has doubled sided brick plate writing and rotates on a Technic turntable. The showroom has a roller door entry behind the office on the left. It is fully tiled inside and lit with PF LEDs. On the right baseplate the brown turntable also rotates on a Technic turntable. The footpath is designed to match up to the Modular footpaths. My own creation cars are a Pick Up truck with removable Camper. A Ford GT40 reverse engineered from a LEGO YouTube movie. The black Pontiac is a KITT replica and has a working red LED scanner in the front. Next was a service centre / workshop for the showroom. The back section is a parts department. On the right are two service bays. The front one has a working Technic pneumatic hoist. Also PF LED lighting. The shipping containers can fit a Speed Champions car or spare parts. To keep the cars clean I next built a car wash. This has a working Technic based linear actuator to move the brushes back and forward over the car. So after a long day. It's off to the Drive In movies. The diner has a projection room, kitchen, counter, seating and toilet. My own creation cars are two NYPD police cars with working light bars. A yellow NY taxi. The two Porsche 911's are modified with brick headlights and door handles. The ambulance has working LED light bars, headlights and taillights One day I will get around to doing close up and interior photos.

    The Farmer's Van

Please let me introduce you my latest creation, the farmer's van. This car and the minifigure tools will be the part of a larger countryside layout. Despite that, I think the van, the chicken coop and the large variety of minifigure utensils make a whole separately. So I decided to start a LEGO Ideas project. You can check it here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/81cec135-0576-4922-a198-7b06e7384185 If you like the idea, please support it. If you share it, please use #bringbacktheLEGOgoat hashtag. Provide fresh fruit and vegetables, milk and eggs to the citizens of your LEGO city with this ultimate farmer starter pack! Ensure that everyone can get healthy organic food from you – a trustworthy local producer. This idea includes: The farmer’s car with opening doors and with enough space for two minifigures. A large food supply: carrot, asparagus, apple, cherry, egg and milk in bottle. Two chickens with their house. The farmer and his daughter. Last but not least, a free-range goat, an original LEGO goat. Yes, we really should #bringbacktheLEGOgoat ! Behind the ide: Do we know what we eat day by day? Eating quality food and knowing its source are getting difficult nowadays. As a conscious consumer, I want to highlight the importance of locally produced organic food and promote it with a nice LEGO set. Furthermore, as a LEGO fan, I wanted to create a set idea that contains a lot of food minifigure utensils and the legendarily hard-to-find LEGO goat. The goat in the pictures was lent by my friend – I don’t have one either! :) Thank you for your feedback and support. You can check the pictures in large resolution on my flickr gallery: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmBNeXFn

    Andy's | Hamburger Stand

ANDY'S: BEST BURGER IN TOWNCome and taste the best burger in town: 100% high quality beef in a cool stand? I must admit I'm a big fan of hamburgers, especially if served in a beautiful restaurant marked by a modernist architecture. My latest creation joins my passion for the most famous sandwich in the world and the vintage architecture. Andy's stand boasts a retro modernist design, with an elegant V-shaped roof, bustling terrace and googie style signage. A large burger stands out on the roof and makes sure you don’t pass this one by. The terrace has two nice tables where customers can enjoy hamburgers and other delicacies under the umbrellas. Flower pots, electricity poles, garbage bins and other details complete the scene. Inside the stand you can find everything you need to make great hamburgers of all kinds, fries and coffee. On the the back a guy is unloading his vintage van and delivering fresh beef and vegetables.Below few pictures. More info and pictures on my Flickr Thanks for stopping by!

  19. Whenever there is something broken or needs to be replaced, communal or private Repair Services rely on their own Fleet of utilarian Vehicles to get the Job done. The Waterworks Van was kinda inspired by a very similar looking Vehicle from GTA V.A generic blue Step Van with spare Pipes on the Roof and a bunch of Traffic Cones mounted on the Bumper 20170408_154930 20170408_154945 20170408_154958 20170408_155010 20170408_155026 I once found two of those old printed Panels from the Set 6422 "Telephone Repair Service" and instantly wanted to build a classic boxy Van around them. These Vehicles might not be pretty to look at (and they become even worse when in a rough Shape) but they get the Job done. 20170311_185022 20170311_185034 20170311_185048 20170311_185059 20170311_185110 Groupshots with other classic Step Vans i made 20170408_155150 20170408_155228 I hope you enjoyed them both,Comments are always welcome.

    [MODs] - Spider-Man: Homecoming

Anyone remember last Year´s Spider-Man: Homecoming Sets? They were quite nice had some neat Playfeatures and a great Collection of Minifigures. But as a MOCer,they also looked kinda bland and lackluster. So i bought them both and modified the Bank from "ATM Heist Battle - 76082" and the white Van from "Beware the Vulture - 76083". As for the ATM Set,i added 2 additional Floors and a flat Rooftop so the whole Thing resembles a classic New York Tenement Building, although a very small one (Greenwich Village maybe...) Anyway,i wanted to keep the Playset Characteristic so i left it as a not very deep Facade instead of a real Building with hundreds of Bricks. 20170709_200350 20170709_200358 I even added a small cast iron Fire escape Ladder (i mean, what are New York Tenement Buildings without Fire Escape Ladders?...i know,a Deathtrap :D) 20170709_200405 20170709_200411 Well, this 100 Dollar Bill is out of Comission :D 20170709_200418 The Sideview shows that the Building is still kept very small and that the Playfeatures are still usable 20170709_200444 Next Modification was the white Van from the aforementioned Set.I wanted it to be 6wide and make it more look like an actual Ford Econoline (even if the Grill hints more to the 2008 Model instead of the older one that was used in the actual Movie Scene) I wanted to use most Pieces of the Set,even the stickered ones... 20170723_192338 Well, the Grille sure looks a bit like a modern Ford Econoline, even if the Hood is a bit krinkled and damaged..well,what´s a proper getaway Car with a few Bumps and Bruises? 20170723_192403 20170723_192412 If you are following a Criminal in a High Speed Pursuit, always be sure to have a bit of Distance.First, the Criminals driving Style might be a bit "shocking" and second it could happen that the rear Hatch pops oben and reveals a second Criminal with a big Gun. 20170723_192349 20170723_192431 The Inside of the Van with Shocker, the masked Crook and the stolen Goods.... 20170723_192536 I hope you like my small Modifications,Comments are always welcome...
  21. This building was inspired by half of set 76108 (Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown) from the 2018 Marvel Comics line while the van is from set 79104 (Shellraiser Street Chase) from the 2013 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line. The building has a new rear half to complete the model, which has a ladders and trap doors to get from floor to floor. The two bigger second floor windows on the front side are missing this print for the upstairs Detective agency. The rear of the building has the same details as the front, but without the pizzeria storefront. The first level of the building is the pizza restaurant, with plenty of seating, meat spit, pizza oven, and cash register. Up the ladder and on the second is the Detective Agency's office, with a large desk and arm chair, with a smaller chair opposite the desk. The third floor has the Detective's apartment, with bed, desk, and gun / evidence safe. The roof of this level has a large wooden tank for storing water. This heavily modified vehicle originally came from a 2013 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set. I added doors and printed logo tiles. The roof of the van is removable, so you can get at the drivers seat to place a figure such as the CMF Series 12 "Pizza Delivery Guy" there. The rear of the van holds two pizza's in the warmer. (This building, the mad scientist lab I build out of the other half of 76108 and the van are placed together on the part list I have, and should be built next month or so. Keep an eye on this space for more details and for real-world pictures as they become available!) As usual, Comments, Questions, Suggestions and Complaints are always welcome!

    Variety of Vans

I found a chassis for a van in 779333 LEGO Education Vehicles Set and am using it as a base to create a variety of vans. The first two I've completed are a simple red work van and an animal control van. I'm also working on a TV van based on 6553 Crisis News Crew, an ice cream van with parts from 70804 Ice Cream Machine, and a work van to go with 60054 Light Repair Truck. I'll post updates for these when I have them finished.

  24. The Armored Ice Cream Van. ------------------------------------ We all remember the Times when we rushed out of the House at the one Moment we heard the Icescream Van Jingle to get a cold Treat. These Times are long gone now,and instead of Happy Go Lucky Times,War has risen in the Wastelands around the abandoned and desolate Lego City. Live is tough, and so are the Vehicles the Scavengers,Pirates and Thugs are driving. This Van was once an Ice Cream Van,you can still see the Loudspeaker on the Roof and the Side Hatch from where you could greet happy Customers. I had a lot of fun building this Thing and i used different Colors of Bricks to get this post apocalyptic Car some Texture.Don`t know where that dark red Sail comes from but i really liked it and so it found its Way on the Van. The Idea for the Armored Van came from a similar Vehicle in GTA V,it even shares the manned Turret from which you can get some Distance between You and those pesky Pirates. I had a lot of Fun building this one. Hope you like it,Comments are welcome... 20170709_180426 20170709_180434 20170709_180449 20170709_180528 20170709_180554 20170709_180602 20170709_180615 20170709_180625
  25. These models are heavily inspired by Whoward69's fleet of train cars, as seen on his Flickr feed and his instructions linked below. First up is a set off a crane wagon. I modified the original model model's instructions to include a longer base for the crane, and using newer parts to make it a bit more durable. The rear of the crane car should feature six of this print where the yellow 1 x 2 tiles are. The crane car can move side to side or up and down with two sets of ropes to either raise / lower the hook or operate the boom. Please NOTE: I don't have the exact measurements for the two strings as they wasn't listed in said instructions. However, I think two of this string here should be long enough. I also added a flatcar carrying train track for the crane to off-load. This Box Van was a Banana Van when I built from these instructions. I already have two boxcars in this form, and thought four more would be a good idea. This flat car was just a random addition to the train, with no real specific prototype. The brake van was mostly made from these instructions. I embellished the design with a couple of my own touches to keep it in line with the above-mentioned boxcars. I was inspired by the Lone Ranger "Constitution Train Chase" (set number 79111) and it's jail car to add tail lights to this car. This print should go where the black 1 x 2 tiles are under the rear windows. The LDD file for the six boxcars, one depressed center flatcar and the singular guards van is available for download here... ...while the crane car and flat wagon are available for download in this link. Comments, Questions, & Complaints are always welcome! (NOTE: These models should be built IRL by January 2018!)
