I'm looking for a solution for removing print from lego baseplates. On a 4-way intersection plate I tested alcohol method, brasso method, eraser method and sanding. My findings are that alcohol removes easiest, brasso the best and cleanest, eraser had little to no effect on baseplates and sanding is a great way to ruin a baseplate (as I suspected but I had to try). Now, the problem is I've searched and searched and all print removing threads seem to pertain to minifigures/torsos or other printed parts and not to road plates which I suspect use a slightly (chemically) different type of printing. In addition while brasso does work my intention is to remove all printing from the 4-way baseplates and make an airbrush template to make them appear as normal straight road plates with a parking stall on either side. I want to do this to 8+ plates and brasso will take the better part of forever to achieve. Is there a resource for what type of print is used on the plates so that a chemical bath can be designed to dissolve print without affecting the plate? Any help is appreciated or links that I may have somehow missed in my many many searches. Thanks!

Hi all After building Vader's Tie Fighter yesterday I noticed that my two 6x10 plates I used for the wings had warped. The horror! I have been collecting for over a year and this is the first time it's happened. I store my plates loose in a zip lock plastic bag and I am careful not to place it anywhere near a heat source. Are there any tips from experienced builders on how to unbend plates? If I store plates stacked on each other would that help? Or is that bad? I really don't want anything to damage my precious ABS bricks. All help appreciated.

This is my Category C entry to Challenge 2. I've been meaning to do a large landscape with lots of tilted plates for a while now. Most of the larger plates are simply resting in place (though they're held there by the stuff around them), the smaller plates by the ruins are all actually attached. As soon as the scouts had reported to Glorfindel that a Black Spire army would be traveling through Skergat Pass, Glorfindel ordered his men to prepare for an ambush. The Mitgardian soldiers were soon concealed along the ridges on both sides of the ravine. Once the Black Spire army was well into the pass, Glorfindel signaled for the attack. Pouring down the sides of the ravine his men had both the advantages of surprise and the higher ground. Without figs: More pictures can be seen here: link C&C welcome

Wanted: single stud round plate - transparent blue or white
Balrog posted a topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi, for a MOC I am in need of a larger bulk of transparent blue and/or white round plates with single studs. I thought it wouldn't hurt to go here and ask if someone would provide me with several thousands of those for a reasonable price. Mainly, I guess I need about 5k in transparent blue and perhaps a few hundred in transparent white. They would need to be sent to Germany, so I guess we need to think about customs as well. So, who is capable and willing to provide me such parts? Just shoot me a PM.- 8 replies
