    [MOC] Orctober builds

Hey peeps Just wanted to share the two MOC’s I managed to build for Orctober, Desert Raiders and Jungle Kitchen. Hope you like ‘em :) https://flic.kr/p/2pav9zQ https://flic.kr/p/2pcGaud https://flic.kr/p/2pcGaw7
  2. My entry for Summer Joust 2022 - Bridging the Gap category. Inspired by the assaults on Lothlorien during the war of the ring. The build is not depicting any particular scene from the books, but just trying to capture a mixture of Peter Jacksons darker style, mixed with the classic 1978 cartoon. Link to album: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjzWvDn
  3. I would appreciate your vote on my Lego ideas MOC especially if you like the castle theme, dwarfs and Lord of the Rings Legos! You can vote for it here on the Lego Ideas website. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/eef9bd2f-282c-4613-b70e-c64b7072093f My children are my inspiration for this Lego build. The dwarfs are some of our favorite castle minifigures and there are not many sets featuring them. This build is intended to feature the dwarven race and their unique home set robustly within the natural elements.
  4. This is my next entry for the Summer Joust 2019 contest. This time "Non-human Civilizations" - "Want to try your hand at some fantasy settings? Here's a perfect chance to do so as this category is based around Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, Goblins, Orcs, and all the other non-human civilizations you can think of. Focus should be given to what makes whatever race you choose unique from their human counterparts. Incredibly beautiful Elven architecture and landscapes, stout Dwarven fortresses and mines, etc." My choice are Orcs. 5. Finally! I managed to go through literally hundreds of pictures. I have chosen 47 and prepared them for publication here. The diorama you will look at is the biggest thing that I design and build myself ever! It was presented at 3 LEGO exhibitions of my LUG (Zbudujmy to! - Let's Build It!). I was also co-organizer and lecturer on making brickfilms so it was so crazy and busy time. But that's not today's topic. Premiere of the diorama took place at Warsaw, Poland (starting May 25, 2017) at awesome event called Pixel Heaven. Later (from June 1st) - moved to Nadarzyn, Poland where first ever Polish Comic Con took place. And the last exhibition, lasting 3 months, was held at huge Aquapark in Reda, Poland. The diorama always travelled with printed desc which had lot of interesting infos about it. Below you can find some quick translation of it. Enjoy! 6. Recently, after some redecorating of my display shelf, I realized how much the Dewback from the Star Wars Cantina set fits to the typical sword & sorcery imagery in the style of Frank Frazetta (think Conan the Barbarian). So I grabbed my Barbarian Minifig, the two Clancees from the Raid Zeppelin as Snake-People, built a patch of desert, grabbed the whale bones from the Deep Sea Submarine and set up a couple of scenes. Some Orcs joined in as well. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I certainly enjoyed taking them: It didn't took long and our Barbarian got some assistance: After the Snake-People were defeated, A group of Orc tried to capture her! An idea which turned out as a bad one It was quite a challenge to pose the Minifigs in a way you can see their faces without making it look too staged and unrealistic. To create the proper pulp-cover feel I also put a slight sepia-effect on the pictures.
  7. I decided to modify some parts of the Goblin Village set and to add my own structures to make the playset feel much bigger
  8. The Hand of Corruption Catapult Wheel A build for the Spire in Book II, Challenge V, Category B At a Hand of Corruption camp near the edge of the Moruth Swamplands, where the Spire forces were congregating for an attack on the Resistance capital of Abyssian, work was underway on a new type of siege weapon, a multiple-shot catapult wheel, capable of firing six shots per minute with an experienced crew manning her. The uruks of the Hand were just now putting the finishing touches on the masterpiece of destructive engineering. The blacksmiths get no rest, beating out nails and pieces of the frame with skillful blows of their hammers. Guards keep anyone unwanted away. The machine itself: ________________________________________________________________ ................................................................................................................................ Wow, barely got this together... of course I did not start until after supper on the 19th, though my main focus was on my Alliance build. C&C welcome. I did not realize until editing that a pile of wheels had fallen into the swamp, but oh well. The Spire needed some love.
  9. The quartet of heroes bound to Baltarok don't have to go very far to find those they're intended to meet with. In fact, some of them may not even have to get up from their seat, because the pair that had arrived to collect them seemed to have found their way straight into Heroica Hall itself...one of them intimately familiar with the place, and the other still soaking in the distinctly foreign atmosphere. "I see why you all spend your time here now. I really ought to have one of these establishments built in Imaestym..." 10. Resistance sympathizer King Zalgel has sent Urkan, his chief general, from his city of Griznâg in the depths of the Enchanted Forest of Avalonia to join with his royal cousin, Frykka the Brown, in Nocturnus in battle against the traitorous Black Spire. To get there, the band of orcish soldiers has had to brave many hazards, from fierce-eyed Elvish hunters, roaming human cavalry patrols, deserts, fell beasts, and now, at last, the towering Rakath Mountains. On the eastern side of those lofty peaks runs a river, red as freshly spilled human blood, called the Sayn Gwinos River by those who have made the maps. A single bridge crosses the that crimson stream, passing through the ensnaring webs of many deadly spiders. Will the orcs make it to Frykka's warband alive, to swell the ranks of the Resistance against Raavage's tyrannical reign, or will they perish in the mountains, struck down by noxious rivers and venomous arachnids? Time alone will tell... ___________________________________________________ ...................................................................................................... Introducing my second build for the Nocturnian Minichallenges. The photography hopefully looks quite a bit better for this one as I took some advice I was given and took the pictures outside in a shady spot with my old point-and-shoot digital camera. All the grey for the rocks makes me appreciate LittleJohn's Nordheim Fjall that much more...
  11. After making my Human Town from Warcraft II, I decided I had better follow up with some of the Orc buildings. This was particularly hard to make, given the source material being curved, but I think I got the shape to the point that I like it. Enjoy! Original Picture:

    The Orcish Marshes

Previously: Storm in the North The spring rains had not yet come to the Orcish Marshes, and so the wetlands were not yet wet, the snowmelt on this coast being fairly light and tending besides to run south in the mountains and bypass the marshes altogether. Every spring, a torrential rainstorm, lasting sometimes as long as two weeks, would saturate the land, and the land soaked it up like a sponge. Truthfully, much of the "marshes" was not much of a marsh at all - more of a wasteland, an expanse of shrub and rough country that might have been worth something to someone were it not populated by orcs. With so much bountiful land to be found elsewhere in Mitgardia, this corner saw little development. The dark-cloaked man had been traveling across this dry expanse for nearly a week now. It was not easy country to travel. Every hump and hillock concealed some stagnant watercourse, backed up since the snowmelt subsided nearly a month ago, and only to be crossed with difficulty. Although the thick, succulent fenweed had not yet sprouted its yearly crop, the evergreen orcsfang fronds were at their height of growth, and mistletoe and other such parasites grew thickly on the old and dead wood of still-dormant trees. The orcs themselves were easily avoided by any skilled traveler. They kept to themselves, in stockades made of gnarly tree trunks placed in rings on the highest hills, and sallied out only to hunt - those encampments that lacked springs or wells survived on stagnant rainwater kept in great pits. Orcs, with their iron bellies, care little for the quality of their water, and only bother with springs or wells because they do not so easily run dry. A single traveler may moved unnoticed in the marshes, though he must needs go slowly, for the ground is not straight and the old roads are not kept. To travel in a group is to be seen by any and all who may be there to see - the fronds and, in their season, the fenweed will not permit otherwise. So it was that the traveler encountered a party of four orcs passing through the marsh, and began to shadow them. Three were male, including their leader, but there was also a female among them. One of them, a male who wore a rough helmet and carried a battered sword, seemed by his stiff walk to be the eldest. The other male follower wore a helmet as well, and both he and the female carried spears. The leader had no helmet, and he carried some sort of stone instrument with a hooked blade. They climbed a small hillock, and the traveler hid behind a stand of orcsfang to watch. There was an old, dead tree atop the hillock, and a chain was looped around one branch. Bound by the chain was a girl, fairly young by her looks, dressed in simple green and brown. The orcs gathered around the leader, evidently some sort of priest, as he took a position in front of the girl and began chanting. As the chant progressed, the orcs' excitement grew, and the priest brought his hooked blade closer and closer to the young woman's neck. Bound as she was with her hands high over her head, the girl could do little but grit her teeth and watch as the stone crescent-moon inched nearer to her. The travelerl quickly laid down his staff and unslung one of his bundles: a fine crossbow. Cradling the weapon with his hook, he brought a bolt from its place under his cloak and readied his weapon almost without effort. It was a small weapon, intended for obvious reasons to be used with one hand, and he sighted along its guides briefly before squeezing the catch. Almost before the metal chord had rebounded with a splack off of the spring-steel arms of the bow, the bolt buried itself in the throat of the female orc. She fell without a sound. The traveler didn't wait to fire another shot. Instead, he set the crossbow down in a dry patch of dirt and again reached under his cloak. As the chanting suddenly gave way to cries of alarm rose from the orcs, he drew from its scabbard a heavy longsword. With his hand against the crosstree and his hook looped just above the pommel, he stepped out from behind the weeds and let fall the massive blade, cleaving through both helmet and head of the male spear-carrier before wading into the fray. With the priest's head left rolling in the dust, he turned his attention to the girl. The locks on the orcish manacles were crude, and a few moments with his knife made short work of them. He wiped his blade off on the fronds, replaced it and his crossbow under his cloak, and, retrieving his staff, offered it to the girl, who was so stiff that she nearly fell over when released from her bonds. Then, and only then, did he speak. "Where are you from, lass?" His voice was deep, and raspy, as though it seldom saw use, but not unkind. "I -- I'm from one of the villages," she said uncertainly. "I live in the fens. But I don't know where I am." "Ah, so the fen-folk still life in this country. What is your name?" She gave him a wary look. "Haelda." "Then, well met, Haelda of the Fens. I am traveling to the mountains. Perhaps on the way, we may find an inn with a map, or a landmark you know, and direct you toward your home? In any case, it is not wise to be out on the marshes much longer. I can smell the rain coming on, not more than a day away." "You're probably right, sir. What should I call you?" He thought for a moment, then raised his left arm. "Call me Hook," he said. "It will do." C&C welcome, of course.

    Ugglug is HERE!

Lets get a great new range of Historial based themes/sets/builds back in TLG's conciousness! "The future is bright... The future is green... The future is armoured... And it sits on 2000 pounds of evil smelling tusked terror! This rider was one of the strongest and meanest in his tribe and has spent its entire life fighting whilst riding the fierce War Boar, which naturally brought the attention of Ugglug the Orc, scourge of Middle Zealand. Having been hand-picked personally by Ugglug himself, and kitted out in the finest armour scavenged from a hundred different battlefields, this Orc is now one of Ugglug's closest lieutenants, a trusted member of the warband known as Ugglug's Armoured Orcs. If you see it on the battlefield, beware! Ugglug and the rest of his band are sure to be close at hand!" But my desire is still the same - build MoC's / themes / sets in order to inspire and stimulate the lego community to get TLG building more pure medieval / fantasy / castle themes... as opposed to mech/medieval fusion.

    [MOC] Fighting of the Gundabad

My entry to Round 2 of the 2014-15 Middle Earth LEGO Olympics over on MOCpages. I was tasked to build a scene with Fili as the focus. His best scene is at the end of An Unexpected Journey when Bilbo is about to get killed while protecting Thorin, and he (along with Kili and Dwalin) rush in to save them both. You'll find more pictures and a lengthier description here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/404861

    MEC Category B: Hunted Down

Even after the end of the War of the Ring, a few Orc packs remained, but without their master, these were hunted down and slain.
  17. Part I Meanwhile in the South of Graystar, Leon was finishing his patrol of the forest when he stepped out in to the clearing near his camp. Now Leon's camp wasn't much, just an old ruin that failed to stand the test of time, located near the border to Avalonia on top of a rocky outlook. It was hidden and secure so it suited him. As Leon was making his way across, his finally tuned hearing picked up the faint clanging of armour and footsteps. "Could I make the clearing and the climb before they see me" he thought to himself. But with no further hesitation he made a dash for the nearest bush to hind behind. Now a bush aint much but the green cloak all Graystar rangers wear blended him in better than just standing in the open. He just about made it as the clanging became louder, almost as if it was on top of him. he took a cautious peek. "Orcs!" He noticed something strange that he didn't noticed at first. Now feral Orcs are not exactly know for wearing armour or being very organised. But these Orcs had a strange armour the likes of which Leon never seen before. As the Orcs passed Leon stayed carefully still biding his time. Once there was no longer noise, Leon stepped out from his cover. and muttered to himself "I must report my findings to my Lord, but I must know where they are heading." Knowing he had no time to collect his things from the lookout, he started down the road in the direction the Orcs went... to be continued... This is my part two of the story I wanted to introduce a new character so thats why this one centered around Leon. Unfortunately I dont have the parts to the story I wanted to do for part II so hopefully my bricklink arrives soon I also didnt have enough parts for a border so please ignore that fact All C&C welcome
  18. Yay! I reached Round 3 of the MELO on Mocpages. Here's my next entry for the category "Last march of the Ents". Enjoy! And Treebeard himself: Thanks for looking!
