    [MOC]Pepsi Logo

Hello Eurobrickers! I haven't published anything for a long time and I rarely visit the forum. Anyway. When baseplates 32x32 in Dark Blue arrived at BOP last year, I immediately thought of building a Pepsi logo. I once built Coca-Cola logo, so now there are logos of two competing companies ;) Which one do you like better?

    The Screaming

The well-known drawing of Edvard Munch in 1893. I don't know there are 4 versions of this drawing until I start to build it. Obviously I make reference to the most popular version. IMG_8125 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr IMG_8128 by skcheung730, 於 Flickr
  3. Hello, Violator is a legendary studio album by English electronic music band Depeche Mode. It was first released on 19 March 1990 by Mute Records internationally, and by Sire and Reprise Records in the United States. Preceded by the singles "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence", the album propelled the band into international stardom, and also yielded the singles "Policy of Truth" and "World in My Eyes". This is a studless build based on the original LP cover. Everything is brick-built, stickers are not used. The size is 48 studs x 48 studs x 5 plates high. The rose head and the "Depechemode" assemblies are a bit tricky too, but the most challenging was to design the "violator" assembly. Building instructions are available on the following links: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-122576/_TLG_/depeche-mode-violator-lp-cover or https://www.mocsmarket.com/lego-mocs/depeche-mode-violator-lp-cover/ (The 8x16 tiles were ordered directly to this MOC and after I received them, I realized they are matte black. Of course they could be replaced by for example 2x4 tiles which are gloss black as the most of the tiles.) 4. Despite the opinion that the Lego mosaic theme is boring , a recent huge example together with the announcement of the new Batman and Elvis sets have triggered my interest in building one A quick search shows that there are a few software options to help with the initial shaping link 1, link 2 & many others, but people with experience points out that manual adjustments will be required So, basically you have a clear path ahead to draft it; but then, how do you source the pieces? Which set could be the most cost-effective for your project? All official mosaics bring the base bricks, a frame in black or white and up to 16 colors of 1x1 round tiles or plates in good amounts ,but they are not easy to compare. So I have put together the following table that can be used beforehand, so you limit your palette to what's available in a set (some tools already includes this), or afterwards, choosing if any would solve your needs better than a BricksNPieces / Brincklink order Notes: - I have excluded the World Map 31203 because if you are considering that size, clearly you are not into cost optimisation - The submission of the upcoming Ideas set Starry Night is not flat and looks great, this would require different parts sourcing. @Themiddlebrick uses a noteworthy layered technique in Boba Fett mosaic artwork - Art Project 21226 is listed based on the Lego instructions' last page, and Batman 31205 and Elvis 31204 are listed based on info from Brothers-Brick review ; the rest comes from bricklink - A few DOTS sets might be good parts packs as well, I have included them Set Number 21226 31197 31198 31199 31200 31201 31202 31204 31205 41935 41950 41951 41952 Set (nick)Name Art Project Marilyn The Beatles Iron Man The Sith Hogwarth Mickey Elvis Batman Lots of Dots Lettering Dots Message Board Large board Num. Color Explosion

This colorful LEGO mosaic of mine was made in Jan. 2022. https://flic.kr/p/2mZhC7j https://flic.kr/p/2mZiVri Color Explosion by c.behrens, on Flickr It is made of 4 x 9 = 36 stk. 32 x 32 LEGO baseplates. It gives a total of 36.864 studs or 1 x 1 LEGO bricks. It measures 102 x 230 cm.I have used bricks and not plates. There is used a total of ca. 18 kg LEGO bricks included baseplates. It contains a total of 64 different colored LEGO bricks. It was my goal to get as many different LEGO colors in it as possible. The brand new 2022 color Neon Yellow is also in it. And also the color Light Nougat that is new in basic bricks is in it.It even contains a Metallic Silver brick in the middle and also a 1 x 1 brick in Pearl Gold rains as stardust over the artist name. In the middle there is a ring of "fire" that is made of the brick color Glow In Dark White. That way the picture attracts attention even in the night. The picture has the working title of Color Explosion, but I have 21 suggestion for new / better / other titles:1. Ring of Fire (Refers to the glow in the night)2. Color Explosion3. Life is in Colors4. Big Bang5. The Creation6. LEGO Colors7. LEGO Explosion8. Colors9. Color Circle10. Paletton11. RGB (RGB stands for the three primary colors red, green and blue)12. Color wheel13. Color art14. HOT15. Colored16. Orgasm17. Genesis18. Colorpalette19. Colorful20. 64 (Refers to the total number of colors)21. The picture with the many names. The picture hangs in my bedroom at the end of my bed. In that way I have a beautiful "sunrise" every morning and it reminds me of the creation of the world, the big bang, - or the beginning of a new and wonderful day. And it also reminds me that life comes in many colors and shades. There are sad gray days and those wonderful bright days where everything shines. Lifes ups and downs. In the evening when I go tired to bed it reminds my of, that it would be nice with a lovely colorful and explosive orgasm. So you understand that it is a nice colorful picture to have in my bedroom. What do you think of it? Do you have a good name for it? Or what name do you find the best? Please comment and post below! [moc] R2-D2 & C3P0 mosaic

Hi Everyone, I'd like to present my mosaic artwork titled "Old Friends" First off a couple of disclaimers! #1 I know mosaics are not everyone's cup of tea, so if you've made it this far thank you! #2 You may have already seen this on my Flickr or Instagram pages, if so I apologize. I'm pretty proud of the way this one turned out so I want to share it with as many people as possible! The piece consists of 3911 parts and sits on a 4x4 base of 16 x 16 technic base plates (or bricks if you prefer). I worked hard to eliminate as many rare parts as possible. I managed to source most of the pieces from used art sets and LEGO bricks and pieces. I only used BL to acquire the 4 x 4 curved macaroni tile in yellow, 3 1/2 round stadium tiles in orange and some of the frame elements which are far less expensive there. If one was so inclined it would be possible to replace the technic baseplates with flat 32 x 32 baseplates and forgo the frame for a decent savings. Like my Boba Fett mosaic, this one comprises 3 layers of plates and tiles over baseplates. This is to give more definition to the shapes, allow for some more subtle color through layering round tiles and square plates and to add a bit of dimensionality to the image. I've been enjoying trying to get better photos of my mosaics and trying to capture what they are actually like to see in person (as opposed to the original renderings, or a straight-on shot). the frame follows the typical LEGO art technique with an integrated frame using modified 1 x 2 bricks with pin to connect the frame to the technic base plates. It also includes the technic pin connectors that acts as picture hangers to hang on the wall, though I quite like the leaning look. Instructions are available on Rebrickable. I enjoy the unique challenge of creating instructions for these mosaics. The options in stud.io aren't quite flexible enough to create user-friendly instructions so I spent a long time thinking about the hurdles and designing a solution that would work within the format we are familiar with. In the end, I came up with a simple looking matrix of part/color however accurately transcribing the data (number of pieces, style of piece, and color) was incredibly time-consuming and tedious, which involved outputting a separate model of each mosaic step, creating a parts list .xls and entering that data by hand into thee page template. I have included an example below so you can get an idea. In the future, I hope to have my wife help me code a script to do this automatically. I'm always open to constructive feedback so please do let me know what you think!

  14. Although Mophet had grown, and become a place of increased wealth, not all of its inhabitants had mastered the ability to hold on to money... Al-Khuraq'a had just bet a substantial part of his surprisingly profitable cheese-shop on the ostrich-races and the outcome had unfortunately not been what he had hoped for...he wandered anxiously around his study while trying to figure out how to explain this little misfortune to his wife... Saw some amazing patterns by "the queen of cheese" Katie Walker and decided to try and make a little scene with some different mosaic patterns. I can assure you that making something like this fit within a certain border was tricky...making it stand in a window was...trickier...haha! Anyways, hope you like it ;)

    [MOC] Santa minifig mosaic

Merry Xmas fellow Eurobricks users! Lego Santa minifig mosaic by LEGO_CoNSpiracy, on Flickr I made the mosaic with the aid from Lego Art Remix - but also did a lot of editing of the original image and quite a bit of changing round tiles and plates in the mosaic to other colours after it was built from the Lego Art Remix instructions.

I can have built 9 ordinary mosaics of 48x48, but that will be a wall..... 144x144 is too big for an ordinary apartment in Hong Kong... This is the fate of almost all Hong Kong afols... Star Wars Mosaics

Hello all - I'm new to this forum and this is my first post but thought I'd come here for some ideas. I recently finished my first 2 Star Wars mosaics and am absolutely in love with how they turned out: Boba Fett (see pic attached) Stormtrooper (pic too big to attach - link below) https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=15425 I was wondering if anybody had some other Star Wars Mosaic designs that I could build to pass the time during all this craziness. It would be very helpful if there were Studio/LDD files and/or part lists to make ordering parts and building easier . . . I'm not very creative but am GREAT at following instructions =) I found a great Darth Vader mosaic on BrickLink Studio but it's waaaaaaaaaaaaay too big (160 x 160): https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/public_gallery.page?idUser=370022 The Stormtrooper mosaic that I built was 96 x 96 and that's about as big as I'd want to go. My Boba Fett Mosaic is 48 x 48. Any ideas and designs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance! Steve
  19. New version (0.9.4) January 1, 2018! Go here for the download page. By using JWrapper, LDDMC now runs on both Windows, Mac and Linux, 32bit and 64bit, and without having to install Java. This software has been some years underway. Since I started this request topic, many have contributed with ideas and other input which has helped me developing this mosaic software. Features include - Build your mosaic by either following the instructions in app, by printing, by exporting to LDD or by exporting to LDraw. The in-app building guide (or magnifier) is customizable and can look like this: - Build mosaics using plates, bricks, tiles, and even SNOT. By request I have added a lot of building techniques through the years. 1x2, 1x3, 1x4 and 2x2 plates from top and side are included in the building techniques options menu. Here is how the mosaic looks if you build using SNOT: - Manage exactly which colors you want to use. You can import the latest colors from Rebrickable... or even make your own (if you can work out how the colors.txt file is formattet). You can filter the shown colors using various filters. Here I have filtered out all transparent, old, rare and chrome parts from the color picker: - Change input picture directly to improve the mosaic. You can modify colors, size, building technique, dithering percentage, crop, and even a series of color filters in order to fine tune your mosaic. The changes you make are reflected in the mosaic almost immediately! - Full save and load functionality. You can even export snapshots of the mosaic like in LDD. - Automatic updating to latest version (thanks again to JWrapper) The software is written in Java and the full source is available at GitHub here. If there is anything you want improved, or if you have feature requests, then don't hesitate to either write in this thread or to me directly (lassedeleuran@gmail.com)

    Chinese ink painting

My tribute to a famous Chinese ink painter Xu Beihong (1895-1953). He was primarily known for painting horses. No glue used. Unlike the real painting which was done on paper, this MOC is very thick and heavy. I use a lot of technic parts to get more than half of the slopes stuck. The size of the MOC is 44x44 studs. I think this is the maximum size allowed for this method of creation. You may have noticed all the edges were curved outwards. MOC Parrot mosaic

I know I was rather inactive for much too long, but I did spend a lot of my time for different LEGO activities. One of them was this parrot as a mosaic. I found a picture of a parrot online and uploaded it to Bricklink's Mosaick tool to generate instructions. Before deciding to build a parrot, I played around with many other options (such as autoportrait, city skylines, various animals), and spend much more time deciding on the motif than final building. The tiles are stuck to a 48x48 baseplate, and the baseplate can be put on the stand I build mostly from Technic bricks. The stand is stable, but wouldn't stand strong wings. Another problem is also the flexibility of the 48x48 baseplate. When I moved the baseplate around the flat (from one room to the other), some of the tiles lifted from the plate slightly. If you're interested, here's a few of the WIP photos showing the progress. Once I got all the extra tiles needed, the building was pretty straightforward. This was my first mosaic, and I enjoyed designing and building it a lot. I'm interested in trying different motifs, so I'd love to hear from more experienced builders any tips and tricks about a mosaic building. Edit: Here's the original photo of the parrot (not mine, couldn't find the original source).
  24. 'Dannebrog falling from the sky'. According to legend that's what finally happened after the Danes had long been praying for victory during the Battle of Lyndanisse, Estonia in 1219. It also holds the record as the oldest continuously used national flag. Religion and nationalism aside it's my birthday tomorrow and since we Danes fancy to display our flag on such occasions I thought I'd give one of my older LEGO building techniques another run with a bit more context. As most of you already have gathered, it mainly consists of the piece 'Technic, Axle 2 Notched' in red and white, framed by SNOTed slopes, both inverted and not.
  25. My entry for round 4 of the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics, though I figured it fit quite well in Avalonia as well. I really enjoyed experimenting more with Elvish architecture with this build, as well as the colors and patterns. One of my main goals was to include as many non-square elements as I could, like the gardens, fountain and rounded base, which I think ended up turning out quite well. I’ll definitely be doing more elvish builds in the future, as it’s an incredibly fun style to build in and this ended up being one of my personal favorite builds of mine to date. Credit for how to fill in the rowboats goes to Simon NH, and Marcel V. and Vitreolum for the harp and lute respectively. More pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated
