Emmet and Lucy's dream home (slightly based on TLM 2 set - finished 9/14/22)

Following the events of The LEGO Movie 2, and using the proceeds of his and Lucy's film careers, Emmet got to work on building Lucy and himself their dreamhouse again. They made it a little bigger, a little better, and a lot stronger... just in case of any future Duplo attacks. It also features an attic for extra storage space. Unikitty lives in the house too, and has made the unused attic space her personal play-place. The MOC's color scheme was heavily inspired by set 70831 - Emmet's Dream House/Rescue Rocket. The building itself (not the furniture) was originally inspired by this Rebrickable MOC by user MIJbricks. The rear of the house features a chimney flue. The model also opens up like a dollhouse up to 90 degrees, and locks shut on a technic pin. On the front half's lower level is the living room, with record player, writing desk and couch. Upstairs is the bed, lamp, and a huge cabinet. The attic is Unikitty's play-place. (She seems really happy to see you!) In the rear half (lower level) is the kitchen table and fireplace. Upstairs is a vanity and Planty. Pictures of Emmet and Lucy are on the wall as well. Alas, it seems the house already has a Duplo infestation... In addition to the manor house, I'm also got a black version of set 40448 - Vintage Car (from Ideas) for Emmet and Lucy to drive around in. I absolutely HATED those loose-fitting surfboards on the sides, so I've created a easy workaround. Some other things have been changed in certain places, such as those eight 1x1 double curved slopes have been replaced with the new 1x4 version for added strength. I originally wanted to do the car in red, but the wheel arches are sadly stupid expensive in regular red. Blue was also an option, until I learned one of the 1x1 brackets needed are not available in that color yet. Thus, black was my only remaining choice. Thoughts? Greetings, adventurers! As you have probably seen, the next Creator Expert set, 10273 Haunted House, was announced this morning and it features many references to Adventurers and other themes as it is designed to be a fairground ride that is modeled after the manor of the notorious villain Samuel Von Barron. There is a large haunted portrait of the baron, a sign saying "Manor Von Barron" and several stolen artifacts from the Egypt and Orient Expedition subthemes. So my question is: is this canon to the Adventurers theme? If so, that opens up a lot of questions. We don't know how accurately the fairground operators recreated Sam's manor, but assuming it is accurate, we can gleam a lot of information from it. First, let's talk about the name. Baron Von Barron's infamous name change to Sam Sinister has been confusing Lego fans to this day, and TLG is muddying the waters even more here by calling him Samuel Von Barron which seems to be a combination of the two. Is this his real full name and was "Sinister" just a nickname? The portrait has a play feature that causes Pharaoh Hotep to appear behind the baron. This suggests that the baron was cursed by the pharaoh, possibly for stealing all of these treasures. Did the baron die from this curse? On the other side of the manor, there is "strange altar" with skull candles, a chalice, and a vassal with some dark red contents. There is also a skeleton with a top hat just like the one that both Sam and Slyboots (a.k.a. the other Sam Sinister) used to wear hanging from chains from the ceiling. This has some surprisingly dark implications. Did Sam used to practice some kind of blood rituals up here? Is the skeleton meant to be him or Slyboots or someone else? Were the rituals meant to free him of the curse? There is also a red snake hiding under the table which according to a German Adventurers audio drama is venomous and killed the first people who raided Pharaoh Hotep's tomb as part of his curse, so it would make sense that Baron von Barron would suffer the same fate. There is a coat of arms over the manor that references Fright Knights, specifically set 6007 Bat Lord. Does this mean that Sam is a descendant of Basil the Bat Lord?! As a fan of both Adventurers and Fright Knights, I am absolutely fine with accepting that as canon! There is also one of Ogel's orb bombs from Alpha Team in the attic along with a rusting Junkbot. Does the baron have some kind of connection to Ogel? There might be even more interesting references that I missed, but this gives us a lot to think about. So what do you think? Do all these things mean what I think they mean? Or am I just overthinking some fun easter eggs in a silly haunted house set? It's probably the latter, but either way, discuss!

This model was inspired by set 70912, (Arkham Asylum) from the LEGO Batman Movie theme. Whereas that set is only the front facade of the building, this model features two opening rear quarter sections to reveal the interior details. The front of the building features a statue of the same design as set 70914, (Dol Gulder Battle) from the Hobbit theme. You can find that statue here as the printing on the figure is not in LDD. Also on the front of the building is space for 16 printed letter tiles (eight per row) to spell out the name of the mansion. The rear of the mansion features rows of windows and a stone fireplace flue on the left side. The model consists of three sections: the front half, the left quarter and the right quarter. Each section is connected to the next via two hinges, or in the case of the quarter sections in reference to each other, via a small Technic pin with stud. This pin locks the building shut but allows for it to easily open up again. The front half of the building features a drawing room on the left side of the picture, a living room on the opposite side, and the bedroom on the upper floor, which also has access to the balcony above the main entrance. The spaces below the stairs are currently unused, but I thought about putting a small kitchen down there, or possibly a small vault for extra money / family heirlooms. The left quarter features the fireplace mantle and flue, plus one half of the dining room on the ground floor. The right quarter has the other half of the ground floor dining room, a couch in the living room and a wardrobe in the bedroom. This model is completely build-able in real life in it's current form. However, I don't think i'll be building this one anytime soon in real life (too expensive right now!) but I thought instead wasting the design to languish forever on my computer, I though I'd give away the LDD file for free at this link here.

This was a commissioned model based off of Leanan Manor. This version is a bit larger and features a full interior that can be reached via lift off floors or the hinging function. All the doors and window shutters actually open and close. It is also an entry into the small miscellaneous category of the Colossal Castle Contest. Leanorll Manor sits on a rock island in the middle of a placid lake. This morning, one of the servants brings in fresh water and kindling while the cook peels an apple. Lord Leanor makes his morning rounds and checks in with the roof top sentry. While the area has enjoyed a period of peace, terrible rumors from Nocturnus keep everyone on edge. This was built as part of the InnovaLUG collab, Ye Old Merry Battleground, for Brickfair Virginia.Check out the full collab here. Given the colorscheme and landscape, I thought this would fit well in Avalonia. I enjoyed getting to use some of our new sand green parts, and small castles/manors are always fun to build. There is no interior as when building this, Nordheim was still altogether and I was short on parts and time. Sir Ruari Leanin leads some of his soldiers out on a tax collecting tour. Meanwhile, some Forestmen take advantage of his leave-taking... There are a few more pictures on brickbuilt. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome

This was a collab build with Isaac, again made for the Ye Old Merry Battleground display at BrickFair Virginia. We took a lot of inspiration from Mark of Falworth’s castles, particularly Falworth Castle. The castle split in half for transport, and the portcullis actually works via the crank at the top. I would like to claim UoP credit for the following: Architecture: SNOTted tile stonework Alqalea Manor is a lovely castle that serves as the home of Lord Alnabil. Here's my entry for Category A of the Frozen Beyond contest. Hoping to get over our argument, I reluctantly agreed to accompany Gremlon on a trip to Mitgardia. Our destination was Falcon Manor - a vital fortress that was untouched by the Algus. Until now... After my last few small builds, it was nice to build a slightly larger moc again. The main technical challenge in this MOC was the rounded wall - it's a technique I've used only once before (in Zelpunra's Tower), and the fact that I built that section in about 2 days (rather than 1-2 months) made it particularily difficult. The right wooden section also had some tricky half-stud offsets that required a bit of subtle upside-down building. I also haven't done many snowy builds (I think the last time I did one was early 2014) so that was fun, used most of my collection of curved slopes. On a side note, photography was tricky with white on white. I really need to get a good light blue/grey/black background... Enjoy! Thanks for viewing!

My entry for Category A of the Frozen Beyond contest. There's a full interior in the manor, via pull out rooms: dining hall, armory, storage room, barracks and bedroom. The doors and trapdoor are functional. Sir Glorfindel and a group of valiant Mitgardian warriors have been serving as a task force to help defeat the Algus from destroying more Mitgardian lands and homes. Hello, everyone, here is my most recent MOC which I will be adding to the CCC XII. A clan of elves live in a beautiful manor protected by the natural surrounding mountains and cliffs. A residence for the aristocracy of the Lion Kingdom. Built on a small crystal mine, a hidden source of their wealth. I'd been working on this for a while and before I knew it, the ccc had begun. It will probably have to be entered in large misc. Also, I finally got to use those ancient windows I had kicking around!

This is my House, Phase 3 build for AoM. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: advanced SNOT [Architecture] (for the window designs), and mosaics, stained glass, or complex SNOTted floor designs [General Building (Other Techniques)] (for the SNOT floor and stained glass windows)= 2 credits This build was inspired by LL, Eklund, Sirens of Titan, and DNL. Credit for the corner pattern goes to LL. I used half stud offsets a lot in this build, and came up with some new window techniques/variations of existing window techniques. The building has a full interior as always. There are several large stone manors in Daydelon, one of the most elaborate belongs to the Hamr family. Main Shot I have to say that i am not happy with this picture. i had a hard time taking this picture due to the lighting only being let into the windows that are so dull and the pillars hiding some things. After doing battle with the now dead (Thanks to Damian) Morgan Ducard, Bruce and Damian play fetch with Damian's dog, Titus at Wayne Manor while they are trying to recover from the horrifying events of there battle with Ducard. Huge thanks to Tristan, Richard, Harry and anyone else who gave feedback during the work in progress stages. My second entry into Nick Haro's Lego Batman Contest over on Flickr.

Hi all, A while back I posted my medieval abbey in this forum. Thanks to everyone who posted there, sorry if I didn't reply to specific questions but I was away at the show and since I came back I have been away a lot with work. I am hoping that this time I can respond to questions in this thread! As I mentioned the abbey was part of a collaborative display created by 8 builders (names are Flickr links): James Pegrum, Barney Main, Luke Hutchinson, Harry Russell, Steve Snasdell, Jimmy Clynche, Tom Coleman and your humble narrator. This display was on show at the Great Western Lego Show in Swindon, which took place in October 2013. The display was approximately 4m by 5m, and due to a cutout area measured 14m2. Although most of us had never met before in person, we had great fun displaying it and enjoyed our weekend. We might even do another display at future shows! Below are a few photos, although a few more will be appearing in the coming days. There will eventually be [Prev] and [Next] links on every photo to take you through them (42 'official' photos) but we are waiting on a few people posting theirs so please be patient!
