So I thought this series was finished, but apparently not haha! He stands a touch over half the height of my other mechs but I think he fits right in with this motley crew haha! I tried to get this ready by the end of Mech-tober but ran out of time. FREEDOM GUNDAM Allow me to introduce my alternate model of the LEGO Technic 42145 Airbus H175 Helicopter. It uses only the parts included in the set. It is based on the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam with slightly changed colour combo due to the donor set. The robot measures: 47 cm in height 61 cm in wingspan The model features 4 motorized functions operated by a gearbox: Wing movement Torso rotation Arm movement Head rotation Other features include: Poseable shoulders, elbows and thumbs Poseable hip, shoulder and knee guards Accessories include: Beam Rifle Shield Sword The battery box is attached to a brace that helps to stabilize the figure but it stands perfectly on an even surface. Hi all, for once I haven't built a Go Nagai design, but chose another classic robot design by Yoshiyuki Tomino, who famously designed Gundam afterwards. This super robot is Raideen : Raideen is one of the earliest transforming robot designs. He can change into "God Bird" : (I'm still not totally happy with God Bird's beak design rendered in Lego, though - any suggestion appreciated !-) More pictures on my Flickr page : Enjoy !

Hello everyone, I'm working on a 40cm tall Gundam, and I need advice on the waist. I would LOVE to have a rotating waist, but given the size and weight, I'm worried it would be a point of failure. Given the dimensions, I'd be relying on a 4x4 turntable plate and that axel to hold the 2 halves of a giant robot together. The idea being that the hips will be built around a gearbox that is re-enforced such that it can be pulled apart vertically so that the axel and 4x4 turntable plate will attach it to the torso. The end of the axel inside the upper torso is flared and can't be pulled out from this end, so as long as the tension on the hip side holds up, the build should stay together. The alternative is very appealing because if I go with one solid torso, I can really reenforce it with pegs, but the downside is that i will lose functionality and the torso will just kinda be a big ol' brick. Is there an approach that I don't know about that might help? I know Lego generally shies away from any kind of hip articulation and i assume it's for structural integrity. The alternative-alternative might be using super glue to glue those gears onto the axel, thus ensuring it can't come apart, but i feel kind of dirty using glue on legos, even if they can be dissolved later if need be. Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt is the first Gundam series, the first anime series, in a long-time, that I really like. I don't hate anime. I only hate 95% of it, but that other 5%, I absolutely adore. Here's a LEGO model depicting the MS-06R High-Mobility Type Zaku II (Psycho Zaku) from Gundam Thunderbolt. Isn't that a mouthful? I'm about 80% sure 80% of this will work in real-life, and am Bricklinking like mad to compile the bricks and elements for it (almost two-dozen Bricklink orders already). For me, LEGO Digital Designer makes it easier to go through the iterative, refining design process, so I start nearly all my models with it. Here's a progression of a few iterations: I came back to LEGO after a 27-year-long Dark Age, so I don't have a life-time supply to brick with which to play and experiment. I absolutely rely on LDD to help me build, since I don't have a lot of inventory. I usually try to make bookshelf-sized models, hand-sized models. That's the sweet spot for me, a size that allows for nice scale detail and proportions, but not so large that it stresses the LEGO building elements and costs an arm and a leg to make. This one's going to bigger than usual, maybe a foot-and-a-half tall (45 cm). In most of my builds, I can identify an "enabling" piece, that crucial part, from which everything else is scaled or built upon. For example, for these S.P.E.E.D.E.R. bikes, it's the mini-fig helmets. For this Zaku model, it's the pearl gold fez used for the small rocket thrusters. There's almost 50 of those rocket thrusters on this Psycho Zaku! Is it just be me, or do you also read "Psycho Zaku" aloud with a dramatically lowered voice? Try it, "PSYCHO ZAKU!" I plan to make stickers for this model, too. I'm not going to try to replicate all the markings, just the big ones like the "96" on the right shoulder and right toe, and the Zeon insignias on the chest and right shoulder armor. I think the model would look better in dark red, rather than bright red, but not all the requisite pieces are available in dark red, particularly the new 2x2 wedge plates used in sides of the feet that suggest a boot heel.

Hello everyone, this is my new LEGO Gundam MOC. This time i want to try to build a Mobile Suit from Universal Century timeline which has similar design with RX78-2 Gundam in the Scale 1/60. This Gundam is from the movie "Mobile suit Gundam F91", piloted by Arno Seabook ( appear again in Cross Bone Gundam ). The "F" in the name stand for "Formula". This is light class Gundam, and of course shorter than other normal Mobile Suit. But this Suit equipped with the very powerful weapon: Variable Speed Beam Rifles (VSBR) on the back. At first i just make it extend the length just like the MG version. But then i think its possible to implement the extended armor just like Metal Build version, and this is the result. You can pull out the Heat Radiations Fins from both shoulder armors and Retractable Thrusters from behind of legs unit. You can only push the back of the leg and all 3 thruster will be bursted out. The beam shield can also be pulled out. My new Lego Gundam MOC, base on a Gundam in season 2 of the series "Mobile suit Gundam 00", piloted by main character. This mobile suit later will attach with the mobile armor 0-Raiser to become 00 Raiser which is very powerful. Name: 00 Gundam Code: GN-0000 Upgrade form: 00 Raiser Pilot: Setsuna F Seiei Power source: 2 GN-Drive (Twin-drive). Series: Mobile suit Gundam 00 Weapon: 2 GN-sword, 2 beam saber. Compare to my previous MOC from "Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans" which i wanted to simple and easy to build the inner frame. Name : Justice Gundam. Pilot : Athrun Zala. Series : Mobile Suit Gundam Seed. Material : LEGO. Code name : ZGMF-X09A. Height : 21 inch. References : _Justice gundam : Real Grade _Freedom gundam : Master Grade 2.0. Full Video - see how all the gimmick and articulation work in real life , check this video : or see more in my album :Flickr : https://www.flickr.com/photos/134378223@N05/albums/72157674353592682MocPages : www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/435132 This mobile suit is build to fight support side by side with ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam : How the main unit of this set (Justice gundam) look like without action base : Beam saber from side skirt : Beam boomerang from shoulder armor : Fatum-00 : _The backpack unit, also is a mobile armor which can fight along with Justice automatically . I purposely build this unit to be a lego Technic set with 4 functions _2 "Beam cannons" can be turn up down : _Switch forward the level and rotate the upper gear to control the 2 "Turret machine guns" on both side of the Fatum. The machine gun has 2 part, 1 main gun on top and 2 support guns which is my addition and can move independently. _Switch back the level and rotate the upper gear to control 2 wings. I did this because i think it'd be more interesting to control both wings at once. _Rotate the other gear to extend the Fatum so there will be more space for the mobile suit can stand on it which you can see below. This is how the Fatum be attached on Justice's back : How it stands on the Fatum : This is the other way to attach the Fatum-00 : My other addiction is the mode which i call "Full thrust mode" .
