    [MOC] Taking Potshots

Built and rendered in Stud.io. 5 trees. 2 soldiers and a few guns against a Russian T - 90 tank. I took a few creative liberties (i.e. the blue and yellow shoulder pad, the flag on the tank) but tried to stay true to life a good bit. This includes the infamous 'Z' on the port side of the tank. Слава Україні! Peter

    A Stroll By The Sea

previously Eoin was starting to question his choice of joining Sarkon in his quest to find the sword, for many reasons. For one he didn't know where they were going, and Sarkon wouldn't stop talking! He talked and talked about a few sensitive subjects, such as the mitgardian government and about how he should be made a lord or even jarl. His plan was that when he found the sword he would scare the jarl into making him a lord, using the swords magic properties. Eoin knew he had to do something... C&C Welcome

    [MOC] Fus Ro Dah !

Hi, I've recently (well, more or less, I began working on it late September) built a MOC inspired by the video game The Elders Scrolls V : Skyrim : For those who don't know the game, the name of the scene comes from a power the main character possesses : the Voice. It allows you to use Shouts which have different effects on your character, your ennemies, or the environment. Having appeared in the the game trailer and subsequently become a meme, Fus Ro Dah is the most famous Shout of the game, which sends other characters and animals flying away. I've been wanting to build a scene from the game for a long time, and while playing it a few months ago, I realized the then-newly released Power Burst shields could be a good representation of the Shouts. To make the action visually striking, I knew couldn't place the characters on ground level, so I decided to build a small cliff where I would place the protagonist. A mere rock was a tad boring, so I've added a ruined tower on top of it, and a tree : I wanted, for each of these elements, to try something new. The cliff is made of 21 one different blocks, each attached to the main structure with Mixel joints. I started from the ground to the top, building each block as I went. I didn't have enough parts to build them from scratch, so instead of ordering a large amount of various slopes, I used Mecabricks to build the MOC digitally first. Thanks to this, I can easily show how the structure looks like without having to disassemble the MOC, and show what each block is made of precisely : The tower is built in a similar manner, except the blocks are stacked and not attached to a hidden structure. Each block is then precisely rotated to eliminate gaps between the curved slopes. Here's how the tower is designed : Only the tree wasn't made with Mecabricks, because I wanted a level of randomness that's easier to attain while building physically directly. The design is based on the large pine tree for which you can find a tutorial on brickbuilt.org, but I wanted to add my own spin to the design and used the tree trunk costume to build the trunk. Not the strongest design, to be honest. And, finally, to add an extra threat to our poor thief, I've added a smilodon. Thank you Lego City ! A Risky Endeavor

My 2nd entry for the 15th Colossal Castle Contest, for the “Ye Old Switcheroo” category. I used a technique somewhat similar to my technic rockwork, but using plate modified with clip and handle instead of technic bricks for the cliff, and really like how it turned out. Getting a dragon’s egg is always a dangerous business. This Mitgardian adventurer thought switching an egg for a similar shaped rock would allow him to make an undetected swap. After a long climb up the cliff face to reach the dragon's nest, he finally seems to have achieved his objective. But will he really get away with the egg? Plenty more pictures available on brickbuilt! Finally finished the semester, so now I can get onto CCC entries/GoH builds! C&C welcome

    Steinn Fortress

Micro castles are always something I enjoy building, and this one was especially fun due to being set in the winter. I incorporated quite a few technic parts into the castle itself and was really pleased with how well they fit in. One of Mitgardia's stronger citadels, Steinn Fortress is built into Mount Mitgard and features many soaring towers. Even during the Algus invasion, Steinn Fortress wasn't breached. More images on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, comments and criticism always welcome
  6. The Maestro

    Watchtower at Fahrin Falls

For many centuries, the watchtower has stood below Farhin Falls, keeping guard over the river and the surrounding woods. A tower in a water fall, because why not? My project for the last few weeks, it was a real challenge to get everything to work, especially the water fall, which uses nets. It was fun to do some flat stonework again, after building so many round towers. And the rock work was just a bit of this and that. I also really don't like the head of the tower, but I wanted to try something new so here ya go, hope you enjoy and C&C needed.
  7. The Maestro

    For Honour

Usually I try build completely original mocs but once I saw this scene I could not resist. It is based off the main setting for the cinematic story trailer. I would have loved to use olive green but unfortunately I have nowhere near enough :P The characters where fun to make even though they may not completely resemble their original source. I don't play the game (because off our old family PC) but I would highly recommend it to anyone as it looks amazing. Hope you enjoy :D This is also a chance to try out the new peices from my first BL order. Mainly bley tiles :P
  8. The battle had gone terribly. The Drow had ambushed them and caught them unaware. They sliced through us like a hot knife through butter. Though they had smaller numbers the Drow fought savagely. Finally, after the first initial massacre, we at last gained a foot hold. Filled with a lust for revenge, the tides turned and we overwhelmed them. We had won. Although it was not with out loss. 2 out of 5 men had perished that day and many wives made widows and children fatherless. I felt anger rise within me. He would cleanse this entire island of drow before this the coming of summer and... "M'lord?" He was interrupted by a messenger, a scruffy looking fellow holding a small letter. "yes?" I asked him. " y-y-you are Lord Maestro?" He obviously did not recognize me with out my usual beard, which I had shaved off as a sign of mourning. "I believe so, you have a message?" "M'lord, the true heir to historica has returned, m'lord and he is calling all faithful to his banner. I know you may not believe me m'lord but its true, the sent me too y-" "Enough" I cut off his babbling and turned to a passing guard "Tell my commanders to meet me in my pavilion immediately". Cleansing Eolas can wait, It was time to join the king, and fight the real enemy. Not at all really satisfied with this build. The rock work is meh, the layering is meh, and the fig posing is meh :/ The story is also meh as I kinda got carried away :P Oh well, what I lack now I will (try) make up for in my next big build. Hope you enjoy :) Also, yes I did see that arrow that fell out The previous build in the saga: A heroes farewell The Next build in the saga: A chilly welcome

    Skogrbani's Lair

This is an entry into the Woodland Hideaway category of the Colossal Castle Contest, and the dragon is also an entry into the second Dragon Building Contest. The landscape design was inspired by Brother Steven’s Friosaelt Falls build. The dragon Skogrbani’s lair is hidden deep in the forest. Two unfortunately ignorant thieves thought it was a good idea to hide their loot by burying it in the woods just outside Skogrbani’s home… See more pictures on brickbuilt. 10. With all the tensions in Isla de Victoria, it was necessary to fortify La Sombra. As the island is surrounded by pointy rocks and cliffs, MAESTRO decided to build a fort on one of those cliffs. Sergeant Wilhelmus was appointed choosing the perfect location. After some exploring, he found a spot with some cococonuttrees closeby. Awesome! ^ A very primitive try to catch coconuts without letting them fall into the sea... ^ On the lookout. The fort is equipped with some long range guns. ^ Sergeant Wilhelmus being proud of the first coconut of many --- As the first fort was set up, the first ships with settlers could arrive safely. So began the foundation of the settlement of Trador. --- The fort is build on a Ninjago set C&C ofcourse welcome!
  11. Here is my build for Barracks Phase 2. It's a bit of an unorthodox training ground, but I thought it would make sense for Mitgardian warriors to be well trained in how to survive Mitgardia's icy climate. Also, this is my unofficial entry to the Natural Beauty category of the Summer Joust. The smaller pine tree is based off of mrcp6d’s design. Part of any Mitgardian warrior’s training is to learn how to survive for days outside in the frigid cold with minimal supplies. Snow shelters offer relative warmth during the night if well constructed. More pictures: link Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated

    Escaping Home

Escaping Home Chapter I: The Tranquil Meadow Chapter II: Old Bagshaw's Residence Chapter III: The Poacher Chapter IV: Making Camp Chapter V: Solitary Council Chapter VI: Escaping Home Chapter VII: Waylaid Chapter VIII: Archery Practice Chapter IX: Honour the Fallen Bonus Landscape: Avalonian Countryside The evening sun glistened in the waves below. The wind rustled the leaves above. Soon the sun would dip below the horizon, draping it all in gloomy shadows. But for now everything was beautiful. Averil sat down under the looming tree, took a deep breath and stared into the sunset. Just being here made her smile. She found herself imagining that this here, was all there was. Just the fading sun and breaking waves. The towering tree at her back and the delicate flowers spread out around her. This was a moment she wished would not pass. But it would. And she would have to return home. Return to a home that was not home. Return to Newquay. Averil had joined the colony of Newquay together with her brother, Leeson, and Gammy less than a month ago. It had been a reluctant but necessary decision. Averil's poaching had not been fruitful and the family was starving. At Newquay, at least they were able to fill their bellies. Leeson had been made an errand boy, and was always running all over the place doing his chores. Averil could tell that he liked it. Back home all he ever did was scrounging for food and waiting for her to return with fresh game. Here he had something to do and he was happier for it. Even Gammy had been enlisted to help in the manor's kitchen, cooking for the lord and lady and their friends. Averil frowned upon her entering service, but she too seemed happy. And Averil couldn't deny that the occasional tidbits Gammy swiped from the kitchen wasn't a welcome change to the bland stew they were usually having. Averil herself had been assigned as a fisherman at first, but as she didn't know the first thing about fishing, she was quick to display her skills with the bow, which had earned her a spot on a hunting party. There had been some suspicion as to where her mastery stemmed from, but Averil had explained that her late father, a longbowman in the King's army, had taught her since young. It was a truth with modification, but confessing to years of poaching would certainly have earned her a trip to the gallows. Her fellow hunters were good men and quick to welcome to her, showing her the tricks of the trade. She already knew most of what they showed her, but she feigned ignorance to support her own deception. Learning archery from her father was all well and good, but what reason could her father have had for teaching her hunting? Better to smile and pretend to be learning. Still, being self-taught, there were a few new things that she did not know. Understanding the territorial instincts of many of the animals here had been an eye-opener for her. And the woods around Newquay was new ground for her, as her poaching had kept her at a good distance from the colony. Most of all she had been very surprised to find that there was actually game to be found around here. The weeks before joining the colony she had found nothing during her trips to the isle, and now there was game again. Not plenty, but there was some, which was enough. It made her wish she had held off the decision to move here. If game was coming back, they could've survived by themselves. If only she had waited a few more weeks, she wouldn't have to be here. The truth was that she did not belong here. These people were good, faithful workers, building something together. All of them doing their best to make the colony successful. Even with their witless lord governing them, there was a camaraderie here that she had not expected. But still, she was different. She craved adventure, not fellowship. She did not want to have everything staked out for her. She abhorred routine and despised rules. They may make your life smoother, but they didn't let you live. And that's what Averil wanted - to live. But what good did it do to linger on that now? They were here, and even if Leeson and Gammy would have wanted to leave, they couldn't. They had committed themselves to Newquay and its doltish lord, who would certainly not let them go unless he wanted to. They were trapped. She was trapped. She longed to be back home, her real home on the mainland, but she was trapped. She looked up at the tree above her. It's branches stretched far out over the sea. Perhaps it too, longed for something? - 'I wish we could both go' she told the tree. 'But we can't. Like it or not, we are both rooted to this place.' She sighed. The last sliver of sun disappeared beyond the horizon. It was time to head back. - 'Well, back to reality' Averil said as she got up. 'Be good.' She gave the tree a quick tap and walked away. *** Ok, next build: no trees! I promise! ...maybe Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it! C & C always welcome
  13. My entry to Round 4 of The Tourney. The category assigned to me, was, Nightmare: Portray a dark representation of a character's worst nightmares. This nightmare must not be merely reliant on a story to describe it (although you may include one if you wish); the MOC should be easily recognizable as a nightmarish scene. I decided on doing an all LEGO scene, and tried to capture a dark and scary atmosphere with the color choices, landscape, night background and monstrous creatures. The backdrop was inspired by LL, whose builds you should definitely check out: Link More pictures here: Link C&C welcome

    Pirate Hideout

  15. Not much is known about Malcumus Erlond. People know he is a druid and a mysterious man, that lives in the old cottage on Death Cliff Island. People often say too, that is has a magic potion that turns anyone into a very smart person! Marcus and Gairbert are not smart… At all… And they decided to try and reach the cottage on top of the cliff and steal the potion from Malcumus and become the 2 smartest persons of the country… Would they be successful? :b Hey guys, this is my 6th and final entry to the CCC, to The Merry Band category. Hope you like it. Ho and I would totally live there :b Malcumus Erlond Cottage Malcumus Erlond Cottage Malcumus Erlond Cottage

  18. The dragon and tree were the two parts of this build I focused on the most, the dragon is quite flexible and based off of mrcp6d's Ice Dragon design. The Aevi tree is a rare tree that grows only in the Mountains of Mitgardia. Its fruit is highly sought after and said to bring good health. The Aevi fruit is one of the ingredients needed to make the Kiss of Life potion. Tarill has finally found an Aevi tree and is about to go on his way after picking a fruit, but stops when he sees that a young Marglod dragon has snuck up on him: The Aevi Tree Tarill cautiously moves to touch the dragon with the butt of his spear: Surprisingly the dragon seems to like it and pushes his head against the spear: After petting the beast for awhile Tarill felt confident that it wouldn't harm him and climbed down: Some pics showing the flexibility of the dragon: More pics here: link All comments/criticism/suggestions appreciated
