  1. Hi! The new MOC is ready and this time it's a cold biome... The Snowy Taiga This time I played with the formation of the terrain, I gave here a few caves, rocks and a waterfall. All details and the entire construction process can be found in my video, link below
  2. Winter time means castle building time! Isaac and I collaborated on this tavern, building it over a three week period. Building time was pretty sporadic in those weeks due to the holidays, but we had lots of fun with it. We were primarily inspired by this artwork from Jinwon Yun. All the windows are lit to add to the inviting warm look contrasting with the frigid winter environment. It is an entry into the Trading Places category of Brickscalibur and the Miscellaneous category of Guilds of Historica anniversary challenge. We’d be curious to hear if you can pick out what sections each of us built! The Wayfarers’ Den is a well known tavern nestled into a wooded valley near the crossroads between Valholl, Omurtag, and Daydelon. Being a full day’s journey from the nearest town, it provides a natural rest point and warm refuge for the tradesmen and travelers trekking through Mitgardia’s frigid mountains. And with its well equipped larder and large central hearth, customers are often tempted into staying an extra day or two. While Glorfindel has often stopped there on his journeys, he always eagerly welcomes the sight of its sturdy walls amidst the pines. Due to his young age, Eryl has seen comparatively few taverns. And most were modest affairs when compared to the Den's three stories. His first visit was an experience he will always remember. Cold and exhausted from a day's journey, he was relieved to hear Glorfindel say they would stop for the night. So weary was he , that he hardly noticed the inn until a stable hand helped him off his horse and urged him indoors. The warmth, light and laughter inside quickly reinvigorated him - along with a heaping helping of stew. The night progressed and he listened in rapture to Mitgardians from all over the country swapping stories and telling tall tales. Finally he followed Glorfindel upstairs and tumbled into a bed beneath thick furs to sleep soundly. Thanks for looking, feedback always welcome!

    Nordheim Fjall

The 7th and final section of my Nordheim collab with Isaac. You can see the others here: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th. This module especially was a collab effort, with Isaac doing a lot of the rockwork, while I built interiors, and some of the windows/entrances into the mountain. Creating a dwarven look was quite fun, and allowed for some interesting parts use. All the doors open and close, including a sliding door that serves as the entrance to the treasury. Fjall mountain houses a large house of dwarves that keep busy mining new metals and refining their smithing techniques. They have several trained dragons which serve as a scout force. Their rumored wealth is a matter of some debate among the Nordheim townfolk, as none have actually entered the secret treasury. Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt The full layout will be revealed sometime next week. As always, C&C is very welcome

    Nordheim Farmhouse

The fourth module in my large collab with John. See the others, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. As you might guess, this module will connect with the Paddock module, and the previous gatehouse. All of the buildings have full interiors and working doors. The farmhouse itself was inspired by Derfel Cadarn. Nordheim farms often include a small stone cottage. And the main gatehouse sees plenty of traffic as people travel to and from the city, and merchants deliver their wares. See more pictures on brickbuilt. C&C welcome
  6. My entry for Category A of the Frozen Beyond contest. There's a full interior in the manor, via pull out rooms: dining hall, armory, storage room, barracks and bedroom. The doors and trapdoor are functional. Sir Glorfindel and a group of valiant Mitgardian warriors have been serving as a task force to help defeat the Algus from destroying more Mitgardian lands and homes. Lord Thandril had let them use his Manor as one of their bases, but now even that is under attack from the frozen invaders: See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking, I still have another build or two to come this month, including a biggy
  7. The stonework technique is made using half stud offsets, see a tutorial here. Check out more info on the Blitzard 2.0 The Elken tribe has been building strong stone watchtowers to fortify their lands against their polar bear neighbors: See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking
  8. Hullo, all! Welcome to my first post of 2016 (woot woot!) Here follows commentary. The funnest part of this was trying out a border with one stud's width on the sides. It's kinda hard to put in words. Thus, the entire bottom is SNOTed. There is nothing new with the tree, but I was able to use Ninjago/Chima (?) blades for icicles which convey a nice fantasy look. One of them is not really visible in the pic though. That's about the sum of it! Thanks for viewing :) The pooling of money had still not covered the cost of lodging, and thus, Knorle was sent forth to find food for the landlady. A particular delicacy for Knorle was mushrooms, and as everyone from rural areas know, they are best picked at midnight. That night, he found himself outside the city walls at ten-thirty. After half an hour’s hard searching, he found them, cradled beside a small rock face. They were huge, and Knorle could hardly contain his excitement. Setting down his two bags (one with a rabbit inside), he quickly knelt down, and with the utmost care, sliced their stems. As he trudged back to the relative safety of the walls, he hoped that this would be sufficient for a day or two.
