  1. It's a rainy and cold evening in Scotland, and you are on the Hogwarts Express as a first year student. You have noted other students have changed from street-clothes into the black robes with the crest of your destination on the front: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You do the same, and then notice the train slowing down, and finally coming to a stop at a small station marked "HOGSMEADE" on a wooden platform sign. You don't want to get too wet in your nice new robes, and feel a bit lost in the hustle and bustle of older students departing and railway staff getting luggage off the train and onto the platform. You spot your trunk on the platform and detrain. It's raining less hard now, and a slightly portly-looking, very tall man in a beard and fur-lined coat comes down the platform shouting above the steam engine's noise; "First years with me!" He leads you and about dozen other 11-year old's away from the nice and neat (and warm!) station down to a series of boats on the water's edge of a huge lake not far from the train. He leads each student into the boat, and then boards the lead boat himself. He taps the oarlock of his boat with his umbrella, and all the boats move away in sync by themselves. You are then astounded to see a huge castle, perched on rocky cliffs on the other side of the lake, lit up by hundreds of candles under the moonlight of the clearing sky. The man then shouts out to everyone assembled in the tiny boats; "Welcome to Hogwarts!" (small note: This movie concept art was taken from the Harry Potter wiki sometime in 2015. It is NOT mine.) I have converted and combined this Hogsmeade Station from two different versions found on Rebrickable, and made it my own using pictures and guesswork. This design is supposed to go well with set 76388 - Hogsmeade Visit - (or my Winter Village MOCs) but of course, in the official Harry Potter canon it's on the other side of the lake from Hogsmeade proper. (But I don't listen to canon!) The entrance to the employees-only ticket counter area is on the side furthest to the camera, while the nearest door is to the passenger waiting room. The model has two rooms under the removable roof, featuring seating from the Disney train set. One one side is the ticket office, with a cash register / ticket window and a sorting desk for tickets / packages. The other is the waiting room with a few bench seats w/ individual arms and a bulletin board. Starting amount of parts: 1,185 Parts found so far: 657 Parts still to find: 528 Over half of the parts have been found so far. (I've also started taking apart my Disney-inspired station for it's pieces, so that has made a dent in this project, with more to come as I start on the ground floor of that older MOC.) EDIT 4/15/24: Sorry for the REALLY late update, but I've finally gotten started on building this in real bricks! (only took three years, but whose counting?) It should be finished sooner rather than later. Thoughts, comments, suggestions, and complaints are always welcome!

  3. "We're on a mission from God." - The Blues Brothers I built this 1974 Dodge Monaco ex-cop car (AKA The Bluesmobile from the 1980 film "The Blues Brothers") from these free Rebrickable instructions by user @brickhead_07, but modified by me to fit two figures. (among other changes) I changed the inside details from tan to light bluish gray, and I had to raise the roof by a two plates to get the figures to fit. I also modified the bull-bar on the front of the car to be stronger. Sadly the Blues Brothers can't sit side by side, but the can fit one per row due to how the sides are built. Of course, what use is the Bluesmobile without a couple of Soul Men sitting inside? Now that I've covered the car and figures, Jake and Elwood have something to say in closing: "It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.... HIT IT! EDIT 12/28/22: real life photos added
  4. I'm amazed there isn't already a discussion topic for this, but yea, let's use this thread to talk Pixar films and related things. Personally, I love most Pixar films. Y'all probably know that the Toy Story series is my favorite trilogy of films. The next Pixar film coming out is Monsters University, which is Pixar's first prequel film. There is also talks of Finding Nemo 2 coming out in the near future. But, I particularly started this topic today as news just came out that the Cars spinoff, Planes, has been announced to be released in theaters on August 9th, 2013. It's kind of ironic as this is not going to be a film produced by Pixar. I will not be looking forward to Planes after the disaster that was Cars 2. Oh, and I really wonder if they'll make Planes LEGO sets.
  5. THIS IS NOT MY WORK Hamster Productions has created an absolutely amazing brickfilm with a great story, lovely animation, and perfect sound editing. It's about 15 minutes long and worth every second!
  6. You can now watch all of season 1 of Being Pirates as one short film. I changed some things and added new music. Enjoy! It took me a while, but here it is, the season finale: Episode 6: Vane Indeed. I hope you enjoy and stick around for the after credits scene: And here is episode 5: Episode 4 is up: I've completed Episode 3: Battle at Sea: Episode 2 is online! UPDATE: Episode 1 is online. So if you're up for a swashbuckling adventure filled to the brim with humor, bantering pirates, and pirates being very piraty, then watch Being Pirates! If you like it, feel free to subscribe on youtube and you'll be notified when there's a new episode. Also let me know what you think! Hello There! The formidable Barracuda Bay got me out of my dark ages last march and reignited my Lego fever, especially for lego pirates. I'm new here, but actually many years ago I was a regular Eurobricks visitor, and it was great to discover this site is still up and well. Lockdown was also helpful in resurrecting an old hobby: making lego stop-motion films. I'm working hard on a pirate series called Being Pirates. Here's the trailer: The first episode is coming soon. If you like the trailer, consider subscribing. Thanks!

    New LEGO Marvel Film

I was just scrolling through my YouTube notifications and it turns out that there's a new LEGO Marvel short film, which you can watch here. I've only briefly skipped through to some of the scenes, as I don't have time to watch right now, but here's what I've got (SPOILERS): It seems like the film is only using 2020 sets, which leads me to believe its a sequel to Climate Conundrum. I'll be watching it later today, and post my thoughts as well.

  11. Do you remember when Mega Bloks had a Universal license from five years ago? They've released the station wagon from 'Minions' back in 2015. I recreated this using actual LEGO! Now with the new LEGO Minions sets, this car would make a great addition! Download Link: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/TheScooterGuy/Stud-io/Station-Wagon/minions_station_wagon_studio.io
  12. This is my first LEGO Unreal Engine 4 animation. It is about the Philippine-American War (1899-1902). It is my attempt at recreating a historical setting in the form of a LEGO film. Check out my blog post related to this animation here: https://staycalm182.blogspot.com/2020/05/my-first-lego-unreal-engine-4-animation.html . It took me about four days to create this animation. The software and websites I used are: Unreal Engine Bricklink Studio 2.0 Mecabricks Blender + Blender video sequence editor Mixamo
  13. Flameo my fellow Avatar fans, I’m a huge fan of ATLA and I need your help. Recently I have submitted a project on LEGO IDEAS, it's the Spirit Oasis from Avatar: The Last Airbender. As you might know LEGO IDEAS is a website which allows users to submit ideas for Lego products to be turned into potential sets. So If my project reaches 10.000 supporters it may become an official LEGO Product. Many Avatar Fans including me would love to purchase another LEGO ATLA Set since the original sets from 2006 are not available anymore. Check out my project: The Spirit Oasis Project on LEGO IDEAS All you need to do is press the support button and create a free LEGO Account if necessary. Thanks a lot, Every supporter counts!
  14. Who's favorite film composer, and what's your favorite film score? Whether you love the work of composers such as John Williams, Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Danny Elfman, or Howard Shore for example; or if you only have a particular film score or theme you really like, please share and discuss your favorites here.
  15. Interstellar was one of my favorite films from the past five years. After I first saw it, I tried to build the Ranger spacecraft, but was stumped by all the shallow angles and gave up. I finally returned to it this summer and managed to finish it up. It's not perfect but it swooshes quite well, so I'm happy with it. Those aren't mountains by Tembets, on Flickr One of the things I did differently on my second attempt was to mask the windows in with stickers (the front ones are masked in over a 1x6x5 panel and a pair of 1x4x3 window) because at minifigure scale there was just no way for me to capture all the little angles in bricks in a way that I was happy with. This also freed up some space to work on the shaping around the fuselage. Ranger by Tembets, on Flickr In the film, the front landing gear extends out from under the winglets at an angle. I managed to more or less capture this with a bar supported by a droid arm that can fold down to land, or up and under the winglets for flight. The rear hatch can swing down, and there is a second set of sliding doors that isolate the cabin from the outside. Ranger by Tembets, on Flickr Figures from left to right: Cooper, Brand, Romilly, Doyle, TARS, Mann. I didn't have access to Illustrator or anything at the time, so I ended up making all the stickers in powerpoint Endurance by Tembets, on Flickr And as a little bonus, I made the Endurance spacecraft as well as part of a short video I did of this MOC (below). The Ranger is also posted to LEGO Ideas if you are interested, thanks for checking my MOC out!

    Hi hello from Spain

  17. Discuss the past, present, and future of DC Animation here, whether it be theatrically released feature films, direct-to-home media, TV shows, and everything else in between.
  18. First of all, I'm not a videogame guy; I've never really played any video game, save for a few classic arcade games a couple of times. But, I am fascinated by many of the novel back stories and plots of numerous videogames, particularly those of a alternate historical basis. The three prominent videogame franchises that I think could make for some incredible movies are the Wolfenstein, BioShock, and Fallout games specifically. These three franchises have had been pondered upon by various film studios for film adaptations, but have currently been put on the back burner or shelved. One other franchise that I'd like to see adapted for film is Crimson Skies; but currently, it may not have much relevance now. So what cinematic videogame franchise adaptations are you anticipating and/or wish for? Discussion of movies focused generally on videogames and/or videogaming (Wreck-It Ralph and Ready Player One, for example) is also allowed by the way.

    Hey Everyone!

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen! (bonus points for getting that reference) My name is Rob and I'm an 18 year old who plays and displays Lego to partially further my learning of practical effects in film and television. I am an aspiring special effects artist and Lego helps me channel in my inner creativity, as well as my love for taking what I see on the silver screen and building it in the palms of my own hands. Stay building every one! :)
  20. Congratulations to the BURPAMOUNT SCUM TEAM Ari Nougat (Shadows), Thelma Brickmacher (Kintobor), Studcille B DeMille (Khscarymovie4) and the sole survivor Roger Ebrick (Lord Duvors)! 21. On the lot of ABS Pictures, there's trouble. ABS' rival studio, BURPAMOUNT, has infiltrated ABS and is intent on bringing the studio to ruin. Burpamount has already killed the studio head Brick Iger, and they aim to take down the rest of the people. In the wake of Brick Iger's death, co-VPs at ABS Debby Brickolds and Kevin Zpastud have stepped in to keep the studio running, but they're too busy dealing with investors to dedicate time to stopping Burpamount. So they have handed the investigation over to the people on the lot, much to the unions' unhappiness. Characters were created separately from roles being assigned, so the type of expression/headgear/tone/clothing/etc has nothing to do with what team a character is on. Placement of a character within a photo does not indicate what team the character is on. Some figures have dual-sided heads and the heads might be turned around for photos if the scene warrants it. This is not an indication of the allegiance of the character! There are no clues in the photos. Play and have fun. Be silly, serious, comedic, dramatic, whatever you think works to help your team win. Just remember it's a game.
