Minifig scale replica of one of the first flying wing aircraft powered by jet engines constructed in 1945. It is modeled after the V3 of the aircraft, the only version of the aircraft that still exists today (on display at the Smithsonian). The MOC features fully retractable landing gear and a dual colour scheme. The biggest challenge was trying to get all the angles and shapes as true to the original as possible because there isn't that much source material out there on the web. The original pilot would have worn a pressure suit but sadly Lego hasn't released one of that kind yet so I used the next best thing I could find. Hi everyone, I've buid some Space MOC's the last few weeks. This is something I came up with after seeing some parts. I wanted to experiment with some colors and this is what came out of it. The big macaroni tiles was something I wanted to use in a speeder. I wanted to use some rare colors for speeders. Bright Light Orange and Medium Azure are colors I don't use very often. This was a nice opportunity to use these colors. I found some small technic panels. In Space Police III those panels are used in the vehicles. That gave me an idea for this build. This MOC is my take on an Incom Corporation vehicle. It is meant to be a vehicle that exists in the star wars universe, a custom fighter craft used by the Rebellion during the galactic civil war, but just never was shown on screen. It mainly uses parts from 75218 (X-Wing) but also uses parts from 75211 (TIE Fighter) and a few pieces from a few other sets. It features Full hyperdrive capabilities, powerful weapons, light shields, and it is speedy as hell, thanks to it's almost oversized engines, but one of it's few disadvantages is that it cannot have an astromech and so can only hold a few hyperdrive coordinates at a time. It can hold one minifigure pilot comfortably, meant to be a generic rebel pilot, and has functional landing gear. Hi! Today I'd like to show you what I consider my best work up to date and also my first take on a fighter aircraft. I chose F-4 Phantom because of its legendary status and cold war era origins, which is also the theme of most of my other models. It's distinguishing feature is the big scull logo on the tail fin. Phantom was one of the biggest and heaviest fighters of its era, especially when compared to 'tiny' MiGs 19 and 21. 2021 remake! Initially it started as a minor update to fix few issues, most notably weak guns/windshield attachment, but over time scope of the changes grew and grew and grew. Changes: - Cockpit now can has space for the pilot in any type of the helmet, including the grossly oversized one; - Cockpit interior now features new controls layout and few more details; the "bowtie" detail taken almost 1:1 from 20feet's variant, with a slight modificiation to make it match the intended "flow' of the cockpit a bit more to my liking. Big thanks here! - gun and windscreen attachment is redone to be much more solid; though this particular change was already implemented in First Order TIEs; - top dish was replaced to use 4x4 one. This is a bit controversional, but bricklink prices for the 6x6 one are extreme, because they appeared on only one set some time ago. 4x4 is much more popular and so this is a better option for a model which is supposed to be built by other people too. - side struts were redone to resemble original ones a bit more. I had great help here from 20feet who helped me to go through few ideas and find one which is a nice compromise between screen accuracy and fitting rest of the ship's styling. Thanks again! - side struts were made longer, as I made a slight scaling mistake in the original TF. - wing/panels are basically an entirely new build. The shape, which has proven to be a little bit controversional due to being much more rectangular, is more similar to what movie and Rogue Squadrons game TIEs are using. I know it is not 100% perfect and a bit too rectangular, but this particular layout enabled me to use most of 1x2 grille bricks, aside from the slopes. I believe it is a good trade-off and the angle is definitely closer to the original, even if wrong in the other direction now. - I also tried 20feet's vertical stacked bricks idea and it looks great - on black background. It is included in the instructions pack, and is probably the best choice for people who will display the ship against black background. Otherwise, gaps between bricks are quite noticeable. Still - a super interesting idea and one which got implemented! - New wing cores: Hexagonal, finally! Again thanks for 20feet's insistence on making them better! I thought my original idea was good enough but it was worth pushing a bit more! - New color variant! This was Charlie's idea (one of Brickvault leads) and I was skeptical even after building it. Thankfully, he insisted and so, over time, this variant grew on me to the point that I now believe it is the best looking one. It is a bit assymetrical but overall a compromise worth doing! - New universal stand debiuts here, and I intend to use it - in various similar versions - for all future ships in this size. So, yeah. Quite a remake. I apologize for delaying it this much, especially after repeatedly telling people the update is "soon". Sorry. This is the first time since 2019 where I finally was able to get everything right. Since T/F shares almost entire core with the T/I, I redid it too: Interceptor shares most of the changes with the Fighter. Initially I did not want to redo the panels - I thought they were perfect, but, well, yeah. They were not. Having Rogue Squadrons 3d models as the sources enabled me to get proper dimensions finally. Ultimately, the panels simply required lenghtening the back part and making those weird offset guns at the tips. I still believe it is an odd choice, but nonetheless, I tried to replicate it. The red one is a Royal Guard TIE Interceptor and aside from the obvious new racey paint scheme, it also features smaller additions to the wings. I tried to keep the angles same as on the main panels, which was quite a challenge, but eventually it ended up being perfectly possible. At this rate, 3.0 is scheduled for release around 2024. Let's place bets on what will change, and please tell me what's the weakest part of those designs, so I can focus on them in the future! I want to ditch 3x3 dome pieces as they clog up the interior, and this probably will be the focus of 3.0 - if I get some good ideas to try. And who knows, maybe I'll be able to make a perfect T/F wing panel this time? --------------------- Yet another LEGO TIE Fighter. How far can this classic design be pushed? How many ways are there to build an eye sandwitched by hexagonal solar panels? Is there a perfect design already? This is where beauty of LEGO as form of modelling strikes with full power, as answers to these questions are: Very far, infinite ways, and no, there is no perfect design available and never will be. In 2014 I have built this: It worked, and I think for 2014 and what was available back then, it was pretty good. It had obvious flaw though: no space for a minifigure, and it was also a little too small in scale. I was limited mostly by the fact there were no proper cockpit pieces, and my attempt with literally the only other one was... not spectacular, not to mention it needed painting with A LOT patience required. The new model takes advantage of this cockpit piece, which allowed me to push that original 2014 design further. I know, I am late to the party, years - literally - behind other designers of great TIE models, like Bricks Feeder or Rebel Builder, yet I hope I can bring something new into the T/F building scene. Originally I thought I would just stretch the build here and there but no, heheh, no way. Literally the only unchanged parts are the eight quarter (or one-eighter?) dome pieces, which are to me still the only way to have smooth and roughly spherical design without holes all around. Unfortunately when we look at a closeup of a real movie-filming model of the T/F we see how far are we from true modelling but I say we're collectively inching towards it pretty nicely. I have said this plenty of times but original designers of TIE Fighters really did all they could to make them unbuildable properly, naturally unknowingly - who would think adult guys 30 years in the future would try to recreate the design using perhaps the weirdest medium available?. The T/F is just a sphere, two struts and two flat hexes. Except: 6-diameter central cokcpit piece would require a 9-diameter ball, minifig-scaled TIE would require an 8-diameter ball and don't even get me started on sources for TIEs dimensions. If you think that Illustrated Guide To Star Wars vehicles is helpful, well, not much. I dare to say this book did awfully lot of harm to LEGO Star Wars MOCing scene. So is my TIE perfect? No, not yet. I promise though, I did all I could to make it as good as possible, with no compromises made. And this time it houses a minifig! The design is super sturdy to my standards, nicely swooshable - for a reason, but I will get to that later. Naturally having a T/F built opens a way towards the Interceptor, which for me is among the best looking spaceship designs in any sci-fi. While the core design is similar, the ball has some differences, mostly to accomodate longer struts. This is because LEGO curiously didn't develop 2x9 plates and for once I was in a situation where I can't really replace 2x9 plate with anything without compromising structural integrity. Having that solved I went onto the wing design and OH GOD INTERNET WHAT HAVE YOU DONE. If anyone knows angle on the panels and can prove it, gets a free beer. With shipping. Because the wings are angled in all dimensions, good luck guessing proper values from photos. Because of the IGTSWV book, half of the models (and I don't even mean LEGO models) existing are wrong. And then because of SW animated series, the other half of the models are also wrong... ...so my source of reference was this: Then after having all that done, I experienced another unexpected problem: The ship is top-heavy and won't stand straight. I added tiny legs on the bottom edges of wings which help a bit, and because the design is quite sturdy, the T/I requires no stand. There you have it. Yet another T/F and T/I. I hope you like the designs and I hope I managed to introduce something new to the very competitive scene. Enjoy! ...but wait, there is more! I would not build these models if not a commission request from BrickVault: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrhb3SP2lZBgguLHIWWuHOQ Originally it was meant to be just a few TIE models based on the 2014 design I had, just LDD files, but over time we developed a much more interesting designs and... instructions for each of them! The instructions are paid and please understand, it took weeks to develop them, error-proof, make the experience enjoyable and builds sturdy enough to be handled easily. Normally I do not make instructions, as I prefer to build with real bricks than to do electronic designs. The instructions are designed to have dozens of simple to follow steps with just few pieces per step, have submodels where needed, parts list for each step and a total bill of parts at the beginning. Additionally, in few places, there are notes to watch out for some particular details. I can fully understand now what LEGO designers go through and I can imagine amount of effort required for making instructions for larger and more complicated designs. I am pretty sure it took more time to design instructions for the recent UCS Millennium Falcon than to design the model itself. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year!

Hi! A long time ago I watched episode 7 of The Mandalorian series, where appeared ... OUTLAND TIE FIGHTER I immediately added it to my "to do list" After a long time and many other MOCs, the time has come for TIE - for the Empire! I was building the project for a few weeks - it was not easy because I decided to use a new 3x3 round corner in it. I wanted to do something different, there are so many TIE projects already, it's hard to come up with something new. Project contains 914 parts. This is the Outland version - it has foldable wings. There are a few good mechanisms, I improved it, TJ Lego Room showed it some time ago. I added technic liftarms, changed a few other things. Landing gears is an additional stand - I didn't want to install it permanently in the cabin. This would worsen its appearance and weaken the structure. More on my youtube, link below. Mandalorian bounty hunter star ship (The Gauntlet) 9525 MOD

The Gauntlet was a Kom'rk-class fighter/transport owned by the former Mandalorian splinter-faction leader turned bounty hunter Pre Vizsla. Designed and constructed by the Mandalorian starship manufacturing corporation, MandalMotors, the Gauntlet took its name from the Basic language translation of the Mando'a word, Kom'rk. Equipped with powerful engines and twin laser cannons, Gauntlet fulfilled dual roles as a troop transport and starfighter, and was maintained by Vizsla— former leader of the Mandalorian splinter-group known as the Death Watch—as his personal transport during the galaxy-spanning Clone Wars. It was later owned by his son, who used it in bounty hunting during the Galactic Civil War era. The Gauntlet was a Kom'rk-class fighter/transport, and like the smaller models of the Kom'rk-class, measured 52.3 meters in length. Gauntlet possessed broad, angular, rotating wings the rotated to an upright landing position when grounded. The starship was also equipped with dual, forward-facing laser cannons located at the nose of the main body, and powerful engines that made Gauntlet one of the fastest troop transports in the galaxy. (not canon) owner info: After being proclaimed dead (Pre Vizsla faked his death at the hands of Darth Maul), and losing his title of leader of Death Watch to the Sith lord, Pre Vizsla escaped Mandalore on his ship, the Gauntlet. He fled to parts unknown, and had his ship repainted into a rusted colors of browns, grays, and black. Pre Vizsla held out for the rest of the Clone Wars on the desert world of Tatooine, hiding his ship in the bustling space-port of Mos Esiley at Docking Bay 93. It was around this time he found himself a wife, one of the refugees from the further out in the Outer Rim sieges. Her name has never been recorded as she died in child birth, but their son has: Par Vizsla. Around the time of rise of the Empire, the father went into business of bounty hunting, and Pre made sure to teach his son the importance of their shared Mandalorian heritage. When Pre died of old age around 3 years Before the Battle of Yavin ( or 3-BBY for short), Par Vizsla took his father's ship and armor and began bounty hunting full-time. He took this profession as a sort of challenge against Boba Fett, the "top dog" of the bounty hunting world, and another Mandalorian-armor wearing hunter. Their rivalry would go on for some time, until Boba was "accidentally" eaten by the Sarlacc. Par Vizsla then had to fight off several new threats to his "top Mandalorian" status, until finally being lost in the deep core chasing a bounty and was then termed MIA around the time of the Battle for Jakku.... though what truly happened to him and his ship will never fully be known. After all, he was chasing the Millennium Falcon! The cockpit seats two figures, one pilot / owner, and one bounty in handcuffs. The cargo area folds up, (and down) and can store a single crate. The ship, while landed, has the two side arms fold upwards 90 degrees. Builders notes: This model is a color-changed and slightly modified version of set 9525 (Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter). I liked the model, but not the color scheme, so I changed it to match one of the figures in the new Mandalorian battle pack (set 75267), who is going to pilot this ship. I removed the ability for the ship's cockpit to turn 90 degrees sideways while flying as I didn't like how it looked. The landing function still operates as intended, though. The story I wrote that goes with this model is 100% my own fan fiction. It has been inspired by the Clone Wars TV show and other bits of info from the Star Wars Wikipedia about various topics. Most (but not all) of the ship's info is straight from the Gauntlet's page on that wiki. (This model should be built in real life next year, hopefully by mid-March.) -

Hello all! This is my first attempt at a UCS style MOC. I've been wanting to redo all my playset Star Wars sets, so I decided to start with the TIE Fighter, and I am really happy with the results. If you want to get the instructions, I posted them on ReBrickable for download. Here is the model from the front and back: And here it is with my other UCS sets: For those who are interested, here is some of the earlier versions of the model. First, this is what I dubbed the fat TIE. Then, the wings got slimmed down. At this point they were still plates instead of bricks. This was the last iteration before I built the physical model. It looks a lot like the final version, but it could not support its own weight, so the cockpit and arms were completely changed.

Over six months ago I posted this starfighter, which won Best Medium Space MOC at Brickfair VA 2019, and received some really good advice for improving the build. For the Mk. II build, I worked on the colour blocking as to differentiate primary hull paneling (red) from more delicate "technical" areas (black and some bits of dark bley). I also improved the cockpit layout as well as trying to make the weapon/engine pods look more modular. There are some additional changes to the space-frame itself, especially to the internal scaffolding for better structural integrity. Overall, this is far closer to the vision I had for the design of the original Asterion. This MOC was going to be attending Brickfair VA 2020; however, since said LEGO expo was cancelled for understandable reasons I am posting the MOC here instead! Let me know what you all think! Hey all, I don't know if this MOC is technical enough to be posted on the Eurobricks forums, but I wanted to share with you my current build of the first starfighter MOC I built after coming out of my dark age. It is designed to be a multi-role starfighter, equipped as both a heavy reconnaissance and strike fighter. The Stormdrake is outfitted with three powerful magnetically thrust vectored fusion drive arrays, heavy shields with numerous emitter vanes, a host of sensors and scanners including an advanced reconnaissance imaging and analysis suite, plus a high-gain sub-space radio antenna located on the aft ventral side of the ship. The fighter is armed with four particle beam-lance cannons as well as six plasma-burrowing thermonuclear anti-capital ship missiles. On a build note, the more I worked on this MOC, the more it took on a vaguely draconic appearance, especially the landing struts. A bit of fantasy whimsy in an otherwise sci-fi setting. The inspiration for this MOC came from designing a main hull similar to the Liberty Patriot light fighter from Freelancer alongside wings that vaguely resemble the Vagyr assault craft and lance fighters from Homeworld 2. The role/classification of this starfighter was also inspired by the modern-day combat roles of the F/A-18F Super Hornet. Anyway, thanks for checking this MOC out and let me know what you think!

Hi all, This is a German jet fighter in WW2. Features: - 4 x 30mm cannon barrels visible on the nose - National insignia made in bricks; no stickers used - Canopy opens backwards - Accepts a minifig pilot - Retractable landing gear - Navigation lamps (red, green, white) - Fuselage can be broken into 2 parts - A transparent support is required when the gears are extended because the tail is heavier than the nose. In the real fighter the nose would be way heavier because of the cannons and the engines, but my model is all ABS plastic so the weight difference cannot be put into practice.

Hi all, The model is Messerschmitt Bf109, the most numerous German fighter in WW2, if not the most famous. I designed it from scratch and did not take features from other creators' work. I spent about 7 years designing and financing this project, and I finally finished it last year. Thanks to the work-from-home policy I don't have to drive as much, and I have more free time to share my creations with the world. You will see that some parts are in the new bluish grey while some parts are in the old grey. There are different patterns of 1x2 jumpers. A few parts even show cracks. This is the testament to the time spent to build this up, so I decided not to replace them with new parts in perfect condition. The 1x2x3 train door pieces and the 1x1 round plate with tow ball don't come in the new light bluish gray anyway. The building technique I used to make the aerodynamic fuselage is similar to the 3D wooden puzzle made out of interlocking thin boards. You can see the vertical and horizontal layers coming together to form a pixelated curvature. The width of the fuselage starts in 4 studs and reduces to 3 studs, then 2 studs, squeezing all the way to 1 stud. The internal connection is achieved with technic pieces, locking hinges and clips. I use it a LOT in my models because it allows you to add complicated painting schemes to the surface while maintaining the correct form and structural integrity. Notice that I still try to use as much slope/wedge/curved pieces as possible. Features: - 2 x 20mm cannons mounted on wings - 2 x 8mm MG on top of the engine (represented by a pair of black 1x4 hinge pieces) - 20mm cannon mounted coaxial with the propeller axle - Ammunition stowage (accepts any 1x2 tile as ammo belt) - Skeleton canopy opens/closes like the real thing - Cockpit has enough space to accept a pilot wearing an aviator helmet and a life jacket (new small type) - Throttle lever tilts back and forth - Instrument panel represented by 2 hollow studs in black - Service doors on wings - Landing gear retracts completely into the wings (VERY sturdy as well!) - Tail gear may be steered - Navigation lamps. (red, green, white) It's an homage to the tradition of Lego's airport sets that always had navigation lamps on the commercial airliners. - Engine cowl opens for inspection; exhaust pipes and ignition system visible - Behind the engine you can see the turbocharger intake and a hole for the hand crank - Fuel tank cap can be opened - Both wings may be detached for towing on road - Fuselage separates into 4 major components (to swap/combine painting schemes easily) - National insignia is made out of bricks; no stickers used. Designed to be visible from all sides. - A jettisonable fuel tank may be attached to the bottom I have posted a video on YouTube so that you can see the moving parts: Pictures: (The wings may look very fragile because they are hanging on the 1x2 locking hinge pieces, but there's another pair of clips inside the fuselage that connect to the top side of the wings. The wings are actually so strong that you can lift the whole thing by the tip of a wing. Details explained in the video.)

The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft. A historical documentary I saw on TV inspired me to build this aircraft in particular. It features retractable landing gear and just enough space to fit a minifig head inside the cockpit. The main colour of the fighter is Dark bluish gray while the underside of the plane is mostly done in Light bluish gray. Hello again, Eurobricks Sci-Fi community! Here is the other of the two new starfighter MOCs I've built in the past few months. This and the Quetzalcoatl were both created from parts leftover from upgrades on two of my larger starfighters (the Asterion and the Fenix) hence their red and black colour schemes.
