  1. Just building my MOC and I found out pieces I thought were in great condition are forming cracks already. 1. I thought only grey pieces were prone to these types of cracks, I was wrong. 2. Lots and lots of broken grey pieces. Almost every piece I have like this now has a crack. 3. Here's the same pieces but showing the cracks on the other side. 4. U-joints are just so easy to break. 5. I even broke one of these. 6. To test the durability of this piece (which some I have are in the earliest phase of cracking) I put an axle halfway through, put pressure on it, and the piece's "axle inserter" snapped. Trying to stay positive, but this is really holding back my builds. Wish I could find some way to prevent this from easily happening or if the cracking is a defect with the part. Is anybody else experiencing cracking with pieces where you put in axle? Would like some feedback from the community, thank you.
  2. Hello everyone. Down here I'm posting my first moc fully done by me. Most of pieces are from 42095 and 42075. I would like that everyone gives me their suggestions on how to improve and what to change. One thing I discovered is rc receiver should be more on top. It uses 2 L motors one for each track. Big picture 1
  3. So I have been having a hard time creating a proper steering system with a L motor. Is it even possible? Also what should I call to a truck where the wheels work like the tracks of a tank? Each side modes independent.
  4. Hello everyone, I would like to get some suggestions for what I should buy to start with the power Functions area. I have bought a few sets and I mostly make some trucks or such, now I would like to start putting some motors to it, so what I should buy first and where?
  5. A little hard to see in the image, but I am having problems rendering face decals. Most of it renders fine, but the top part appears to have chunks missing. Has any one else had this problem and if so can it be fixed?
  6. Hi, I really hate to start a new topic asking a question that's probably been asked a thousand times, but I cannot find the answer for the life of me. How do I find the pieces count in an LDD build? Can someone please link me to a topic explaining or explain to me how?

  8. I have one train set, 3677, and I'm interested in getting more. The only problem is the budget. I have a really small budget of about $50, and I want to build a MOC of the P42 VIA.
  9. In this topic you can ask help if you don't find a piece in LDD. You can also ask here about any doubt regarding part IDs, duplicate parts and the use of a specific part present in LDD. Before asking, try the hints listed below. Ensure that the Extended Mode is active The extended mode allow access to all the bricks included in LDD in each colour. To activate Extended Mode go to: Menu -> View -> Theme -> Extended Mode . . . [Image] Use the Search Field The search field is the textfield above the Bricks Palette. . . . [Image] Enter there the ID of the brick you are looking for, or any plausible word that could identify the brick you are looking for. Note that the IDs and the descriptions in LDD are the official LEGO ones, and could differ from those you can find consulting other sources such as Bricklink, Peeron, etc... Check the work of other users As last resource, check the index of the Official LEGO Sets made in LDD topic looking for the sets that uses the part you need. If you find it you can select it and read its Design ID in the bottom bar, then easily find it using the LDD integrated search function. Other Useful Tools LDD Part Finder (beta) Could be you can find useful this little software developed by the user DrFalken. You can find more informations here. Bricklink and LDD Manager If you know a set that uses the brick you are looking for, you can: - Obtain the part ID from Bricklink - Use the "Brick Finder" function in LDD Manager to convert the Bricklink ID to the LEGO Element ID Otherwise you can use LDD manager function "Search for attributes". 10. Hi, I am very new to technic and my first project is a tank only for travelling on dirt. I would like to know how this creator manage to power the sprocket gear by placing the XL motor this way. Thanks!
  11. This is a general topic for everyone to ask for help making a certain assembly in LDD. We have a topic like this for finding parts in LDD, so a topic for this would be useful too. [Hopefully, I can fill this first post with tips and tricks I can find in the forum in the next days/weeks.] Anyway, if you need to assemble something, you can ask here for help!
  12. Hello all you happy lego people! I know I've been away for ages and I do hope I am remembering all the proper rules here so let me know if I screw up and I'll fix it or get rid of it. Sorry to inconvenience anyone just throwing that out. Anyway I have been in the process of casting new custom pieces such as weapons, accessorys, Kits you get it and not gonna lie I do intend to bricklink I know advertisement is a absolute no no on this forum. I am not wanting to break that rule so while I indeed have plans nothing apart from certain projects will be mentioned here not even the name of what I speak of will be on this or any other thread I make. By the nature of this project being mentioned it tiptoes that fine line as is so please do not think I intend to advertise I will do that where it is appropriate I swear. Ok a couple of my projects for this is to have a fellow create some new parts to actually bring some my kits to life. I am makijg rough design sketches for him but I need to know a few parameters of blocks already out there. First up is Pins and their brick plugs. I know that to ensure the pins like on the Astromech body the holes have a slightly thinner inside that opens up to a little larger section to allow the pin to lock in place till you pull them out. My first question is a common one I'm sure but what is the diameter of the two sections of the socket the pin goes into. Next up deals again with the pegs and socket parts but this time in a lateral setup. How close together can a double pin tube like the one on the astromech for it's legs to peg in be with out interference on the pin next to it? Well that covers the most pressing things I need for a sketch. I'll likely have much more soon. Can anyone direct me to a handy place to find the dimensions of bricks, Pins and such? I have some calipers but I trust them mostly with finding diameter of objects I think can fit into a Lego claw. So that's about it for the moment. I do hope this isn't against the rules I mean I have seen custom brick and weapon threads before but I'm not 100% if this falls into that category as these are for 3D printed prototypes That I'll touch up and use resin for. Like I said if I made a mess let me know I'll clean it up ASAP. On the fact Everything is Awesome I do not post anything breaking the rules of the forum. It's against the instructions but we all slip once in a while. Thank you for the time and hope to hear some good feedback if this is indeed the right way to ask. All of you take care and build tomorrow's masterpieces, Plokman
  13. Hey Guys so I recently got a hold of the 1985 classic, 7722 Cargo train. The tires are very worn out and I am in a huge need of new ones. These are the ones I have right now: Bottom is stretched. Right is in OK condition and the one on the left broke when I dropped it right before taking this. *Sigh* I need new tires by Railco1, on Flickr The one that broke actully broke right before taking that photo by accidentally dropping it... If someone knows where I can buy new (and I mean new) tires even if they are not by LEGO themselves it would be much appreciated. I looked at Bricklink but they seem to be all used. Thanks so much guys! -Rail Co
  14. Here is a quick summary of a previous post. Right now I'm planning on a new project and I could use some help. It's a 1:8 scale model of Lexus' LC coupe powered by Lego Mindstorms EV3. Currently, I have the rear axle built off the instructions from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS set. I also made the engine for the LC500 on Lego Digital Designer and I am wondering if it is good enough to buy the pieces for it on BrickLink. I also want to add the following features: Four or six-speed paddle-shift transmission Retractable spoiler Detailed interior Fake V8 engine (but I would like to achieve moving pistons) Full independent suspension I would welcome some helpful comments about the V8 engine, axles, and the gearbox I planned to use before I order pieces on BL. Thank you.
  15. I'm working on a 1:110 scale model of the Apollo 11 launchpad (Currently over 6700 pieces, WIP thread here), but I need help creating a gearbox that lets me rotate the service arms out of the way using a couple of knobs on the back. The top of the tower looks like this (LDD file here): The first 8 service arms are all mounted on a single 82L axle running the height of the tower (pink), and will rotate 73 degrees into the wall facing the rocket. It would be good to have a worm gear to help lock the arms in place, though I am aware the mechanism already has a lot of play in it because of the universal joint I used to offset the axle at two points in the tower. The last arm, where the crew access the rocket, is mounted separately and rotates over 180 degrees to the side wall (yellow axle). I know this looks like I haven't even attempted a solution myself, but I can't even see how to turn each axle 90 degrees with a pair of cogs in the space available. Despite years of enjoyment from technic sets I've never managed to build any working/reliable mechanism from a box of cogs without an instruction manual to guide me (seriously, I still have no idea how anyone was able to design set 8002... and the Mercedes Arocs gearbox is just "magic happens here"). So any designs, advice, or suggestions would be much appreciated.
  16. Hello there! I ran into a small problem recently. I'm trying to synchronize a couple of pneumatic cylinders which are not connected directly to the same frame and they keep extend and retract at different speeds. The hoses are exactly the same length and the cylinders are from the same batch - they are not old+new. But even if I get the synchronization correctly then one of the cylinders does a harsh or abrupt action. For example when the pressure in the system is rising one cylinder starts to operate right away and the second cylinder is "stuck" until the pressure is high enough and it extends abruptly. I've spent couple of hours manually extending and retracting cylinders in order to make them work smoothly without success. Did you have such problem and if so - what was your solution?

My Layout is a Mess :(

Long Story Short: I have long had hopes for how I wanted my town to turn out, and built a huge table that I dreamed of filling with custom creations and an elaborate layout… However, after many years of collecting lego, it seems as though not even the least of my plans will EVER be fulfilled. I have posted photos of how my layout looks currently: messy and full of holes that rely on the idea of custom buildings. What I need is some advice on how to best arrange my present collection, using only what I've got (some extra parts permitting) to make the most of it, but allow for effective additions down the track. I am also open to suggestions for custom builds that I can start and complete with what I've got. Short story long: All of the sets I own are pictured, all complete, but some with parts floating around elsewhere in the room. In addition to what is shown, I have the 7744 police station (demolished because I couldn't stand the blue windows and unfinished structure) the 4956 creator houses (sacrificed in an attempt to build the large red-roof house at the back) and the bridge from 7900 heavy loader set. To be honest, the town looks pretty lost without the police station and random emergency vehicles floating around. If anybody has ideas on how to repurpose the police station or photos of fitting, alternate designs would be great. In the past, I've gotten sick of seeing things the same all the time, and tried to make little modifications here and there which I could never finish properly with the parts I had. Most of those have been reverted, but I've started too many projects and finished none. The simplest plan I had for this corner of the town was to have a marina running along the water's edge, a port where the large boat is parked, and a railway line from the port wrapping around the outside edge of the table. The shopfronts you see, in a mad rush, were placed around a makeshift square, lane, and the idea was to have port vehicles drive up and around the back of the port, and exit along the water. All of which I can guess is very space ineficcient, and is holding up many other decisions for my layout. A proper automotive shop is currently in the workings to replace the car dealership, but that's it. I have no idea whether what I'm doing is right or wrong, but would greatly appreciate some advice to straighten my thinking, and give me a cleaner slate to work with.
  18. Why aren't there any any moc ideas posted? You have to search google very thoroughly in order to find stuff like this: I'd love to see peoples takes on how to build custom torsos or how to build custom limbs.. Or just outright clever ideas.. I'm currently stuck trying to figure out how to widen up a torso from the waist up in order to make a WH40K styled dreadnought torso.. If any of you have clever ideas you'd like to share, please post them below. Tips, ideas or frames like in the image is very helpful for newbie moccers.
  19. Quick question for those who own a SBrick, do you know if a Samsung S5 will work with an SBrick? Considering getting an SBrick, but don't know if I have the correct phone for one. Thanks!
  20. This is my first WIP post on EuroBricks where I will show my progress on my newest build, an EV3-powered 1:8 replica of Lexus' newest flagship coupe, the LC500. The car will most likely be a combination of both the standard and the V6 hybrid LC, but it will have a V8. The body will also be orange. Here's a photo I found of an LC that looks a lot like the one I am shooting for. Features I'm planning to add: Four or six-speed paddle-shift transmission Retractable spoiler Detailed interior Fake V8 engine (but I would like to achieve moving pistons) Full independent suspension All I built so far was the rear axle for the LC. It's exactly like the one in the Porsche 911 GT3 RS set but more reinforced. I also made the V8 engine using Lego Digital Designer. I plan to build the paddle-shifting mechanism used in Didumos' Ultimately Playable Porsche 911 GT3 RS (the one with the tilted wheel) and pair it up with a gearbox. I currently am having trouble whether to motorize his gearbox with the EV3 motors or to pick a different one with less gears and friction. I also am having a little bit of trouble finding the right front axle, though I like the one that Didumos put his Porsche because of the fact that is has two shocks for each wheel. However, I find it very difficult to fit the V8 engine in the middle since the axle is made for a rear-engine car. Here's a poorly drawn render I made of what I'm trying to achieve with the front axle. And here's the chassis in the real LC and the measurements for the LC Lego model. Overall, I'm excited about the build. I would welcome some helpful comments about the V8 engine, axles, and the gearbox I planned to use before I order pieces on BL. Once I start working on the body and aesthetics, I would appreciate some input with that as well. I can also give you the download for the .lxf file of the engine if you'd like to check it out. I look forward to replying to your comments and sharing my progress. Thank you.

Any Pinterest Users Here On Eurobricks?

I've been a Pinterest user for a little while now, and after getting used to its many different functions, features, and format, it has undergone a bit of a revamp. While the format changes and reconfigurations don't bother me, it's what's missing that does. I don't know if it's the same way for others, but three major (and useful) functions are now completely absent from the site, and they are... The ULR address pin function, which was located within the "plus" button that was formerly in the bottom right hand corner of the home feed. This allowed you to save pins without the Pinterest app button that they would suggest you upload for your browser. Though I didn't use this one, the other function contained within the "plus" button was an upload function for your own photos/content if you wished to host it on Pinterest directly. The "visually similar search" function, which was located in the upper right hand corner of each pin when they were opened, denoted by a four bracketed symbol. The "Hide" function, which was located in the bottom right hand corner of each unopened pin. Hiding a pin would purportedly insure that similar such pins would not be suggested in your home feed in the future. Have these changes happened to anyone else who may be users here?
  22. hey, been a while since i've built anything major, but i've finally figured out what i'm going to do for my next moc series. i'd like to build upgraded, full-scale versions of the crazy vehicles from the ninjago movie, as the released sets each seem to be roughly half the size of the movie versions. unfortunately i'm running into an issue in finding reference images of them. the concept art book has some good stuff in it, but stuff like cole's mech in the book isn't the final one (it has a brick built wheel) and the garma-mecha-man isn't represented in its brick form like, at all. any google searching i have done has nearly entirely lead me to pictures of the toy versions, not the movie versions. i'm looking for any screenshots, current mocs or in progress shots, or production shots that are available for these, or any tips you guys could give me on doing them. i'm starting off with the ice tank, so shots of that are the most helpful for now
  23. Hi I'm using lego digital designer and I hope I'm not the only one who does this, but I love making my own brick decals or "stickers" by using this method:http://www.rockraidersunited.com/topic/5399-tutorial-adding-custom-decals-into-ldd/ or some other website I forget. But I cant add a decal to this door piece, (58381) I do what the instructions from the link above told me, It works for most pieces but not this one please help.
  24. Hello, Today I was on LDD, and I looked at the Tool Box in the top corner, and I tried the paint tool, and it went to that. Then I pressed V on the keyboard and this happened: I took a screenshot and it remained the same: I pressed V again and it changed even more: Here's what the C key does: H makes everything green and occasionally centers the XYZ axis thing. I have no idea what is going on. I do have Developer Mode, maybe it has to do with that. I've never seen anything like this before. Can anyone help?
  25. Hey I'm working on a MOC of The Mole from Thunderbirds in LDD and I need help with a few parts of it like a sliding mechanism for the drill itself and to make the hull round. I've seen a lot of great cylinder techniques that I could use for the hull but all of them were either too fragile, you couldn't make gaps in them for the tracks and sliding mechanism (yes there are tracks on the base as well, take another look) or not hollowed out, which is a problem for me cause I want it to have an interior. also I could use some help with the frames of the chassis and base, not to mention the part with all the crossbars which carries the drill. if you're unfamiliar with what this thing even is then here http://thunderbirds.wikia.com/wiki/The_Mole EDIT: Also I need help with a sliding door for the interior of The Firefly (another vehicle from Thunderbirds), the wall needs to be like 3 plates thick with the studs hanging off the sides and for the door itself to be 1 plate thick
