  3. This build was based on LEGO set 4756 (called Shrieking Shack ) from the 2004 Harry Potter / Prisoner of Azkaban movie line. My revamped version of the set features a hinge system to allow access to the interior while preserving the sense that it is a complete building. The front of the house. Those 1x6 tan tiles in this build are all missing a specific rare wooden board print. (see it here: http://www.bricklink...m.asp?P=6636px1 ) The rear view features the secret exit to the tunnel from Hogwarts' Womping Willow and more boarded up windows. The Inside features a bed-frame, (from another Haunted House, set 10228) staircase with broken railing, couch, and phonograph courtesy of 10228. Here is the LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1412793485m.lxf Comments, questions & complaints are welcome!
  4. I need your help again. I want to improve my LDD and I like to know which of my previous MOCs you like to see on LDD. This time no more cars please, next time maybe... There are a lot of choices, you can take a look at my brickshelf page and choose, thank you.
  5. Hi, Sorry if this has been asked before, but thanks to Eurobricks having such a great resource of LDD recreations, I'd like open a few and combine them into the same file. Maybe it's just my PC, but if I try to open a second file while LDD is already open, it fails. Any ideas? Or directions to a post where this has been talked about? I'd love to mix and match some town sets! Thanks.
  6. Are you interested in LDD or would like to experiment with it? Are you a fan of the western theme? Are you looking to contribute in another part of the forum? This is for you! Eurobricks' fifth LDD RCB will be Western themed and we are building a Western town's main street. A total of sixteen(16) builders will contribute additions to the build of up to 300 bricks to complete this model; a further 4 builders will be considered as replacements should a builder drop out. What is an RCB? The basic idea is that one builder starts off a model, adds a certain amount of pieces, and passes the file on to the next builder who adds more bricks, and passes it on to the builder after him, and the cycle repeats until all the builders have built. It's a lot of fun seeing the model grow and the different ideas that each builder has. Here are links to the previous builds: RCB 1 - Café Corner : http://www.eurobrick...=48254&hl=relay RCB 2 - Market street : http://www.eurobrick...=51092&hl=relay RCB 3 - Classic Space outpost : http://www.eurobrick...=55873&hl=relay RCB 4 - Pirate fort : http://www.eurobrick...=62132&hl=relay Who can participate? Anyone who has the lastest version of LDD and a computer powerful enough to accomodate a ~ 5000 piece model Interested? Then head here

  8. When I heard the new Rebels show was going to have the Imperial Troop Transport in it. The kid who grew up in the 70's came out. I thought, great, this is an awesome opportunity for Lego to make one. Than I saw pics of it, I had hoped it would be treated as a full fledged set, not a battle pack. So, I figured, no problem, I'll would make my own. After playing with LDD for while, this is what I came up with: Not being completely happy with, I expanded on the idea of making it, not only a transport, but, a battle station as well: All 6 troop compartments fold down. The back pulls out, complete with holding cell for those pesky Rebels! I also included a tool rack that slides into the transport, between the pilot and navigator. Between the troops, there are weapons, so they can be let out of their compartments, grab there gear and engage the enemy. The front opens to provide cover for them. The model is comprised of 761 pieces and holds 9 troops, a pilot, a navigator, a weapons specialist, and 6 Stormtroopers. After doing this model, I started making alot of other Kenner models from the 80's. More to come................. Jamie

    The New Republic SRV-1

After completing the Imperial Troop Transport, I started looking back at some of the 80's toys from Star Wars, I came across some un-produced stuff. I have seen them before, but, for some reason. I got the idea to make the SRV-1. It's a cool little vehicle used to recover snowspeeders, transport troops, or carry cargo. Both cockpits open, cannons both rotate 180 degrees, bed tips, loading ramp folds up, and there is a winch in there. I really wish those windscreens came in trans-black, but, trans-blue doesn't look too bad, I guess. This model is comprised of 768 pieces and holds 4 troops, a driver, navigator, and 2 gunners. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Thanks, Jamie
  10. This station was designed first by LEGO as set 2150, Train Station. It was recreated by someone here on Eurobricks back in 2011, but it had an added "street side", that was almost identical as the track side. I downloaded and added: a expanded platform, made a clock with sign for both sides, and made the sections removable. (Yes, the roof for both levels come off.) I modernized the look of the station by adding a pizza oven with opening door like in set 7641, (City Corner) and adding a safe on the second floor for the station master. Track side. Street side of the station. The studs on the wall beside of the clock on both sides of the station are supposed to spell LEGO CITY in printed 1x1 tiles. Top floor features the Station master's office, with three chairs, a desk, open-able safe, rotary telephone and several cabinets with drawers. This floor and the roof above it are held on by just a few studs, making them 100% removable. The first floor features the ticket counter, pizzeria with bar seating and the oven taken from City Corner. Every floor & platform is grouped in LDD, and the station is also build-able in yellow for most (99%) of the parts. NOTES: I built this station for my father, who already owns the original yellow station set, number 4554. This modified station will be mostly recolored yellow to match his station, which this will replace. (I could have put this in my "Misc. Railroad Builds" thread, but I thought I deserved a thread in it's own right.) LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1412010310m.lxf Comments Question & Compolaints always welcome!!
  11. In my original version, I based the model off of the 2004 Harry Potter set 4755, the Knight Bus. The model was quite tall and very top-heavy, plus it had a black Fabuland staircase attached to the back, making it not able to go over bumps in the road or railway level crossings. This bus features a rear staircase and removable floors with plenty of seats. Contains this stair case in black: http://www.bricklink...Item.asp?P=2046 (It's not in Lego Digital Designer, sadly.) Now I have my new version, inspired by the 2011 set 4866, which was also called the Knight Bus. It is two bricks shorter, with no back staircase to keep it from grounding on level crossings. The rear features the entryway to the bus, along with a railing, rear bumper and single tail light. Here we see that the roof and upper level a removable, and are even grouped individually in Lego Digital Designer to allow for easy access. The bus even fits under my traffic lights by 1/3 of a stud... my old bus could not even come close to fitting under this! According to LDD Manager, this model is also available in Dark bluish gray or white instead of reddish brown... although many more colors are possible with slight modifications. The LDD file for the bus is available here: http://www.mocpages....1411148671m.lxf Comments, questions, and complaints are welcome as always. Also, If anyone wants the LDD file for the traffic lights I used, here they are: http://www.mocpages....1396637910m.lxf
  12. We’re approaching the surface of yet another planet. But this time, it’s going to be different. I’m not here to discover more atrocities. I’m here to end them. Let Felucia be the planet of life once again. The arms dealer told us we might find him here. But he is not my only source. That datapad, once used to disguise the bounty hunter’s actions, might serve to uncover him. It contained more information than I thought. The bounty hunter must have thought that as well, otherwise he would never have left it behind. The Rebel he took it from must have been very close to finding him. So close that Fett found him first. And the Rebel left all he knew on his datapad. He had a list of locations. One of them on Felucia. That knowledge is now mine to use. And I intend to use my inheritance well. I put the landing craft down near the location. Now is the time. “According to my information, the hideout of the bounty hunter is two hours north from here. I’ll stay with the ship. We don’t want to get stuck on this planet.” Nobody questions me. Agent An and the fantroopers of the bounty hunter depart, eager to meet and thank their idol. [soNE Ep. VI] 5 - Delivery, deliverance by Bert.VR, on Flickr But I don’t want them to. Boba Fett doesn’t deserve that kind of thank you. How could someone possible thank him for his work. For his work, his atrocities, all the horrors I’ve been through to find him. All the bad examples he gives. All the low things he inspires and propagates. How can this monster possibly be received like a hero? [soNE Ep. VI] 5 - Two ways by Bert.VR, on Flickr The troopers are out of sight. I leave the ship, and I start walking south, to where the datapad says I can find that bounty hunter. I’m going to bring him another message, another kind of thank you. I’m going to show him who he really is, what he really does. It’s about time I finally do something with all of those thoughts I had. No more hiding inside myself. I’m going to step to him and use the most effective weapon of all. A weapon that can destroy people. A weapon that shatters them. A weapon that can give them new life. A mirror. I pay no attention to the flora around me. I don’t care if it tries to kill me or tries to make me alive. I don’t care what my colleagues are doing. I wouldn’t care if they fell into a Sarlacc pit. I only feel determination. No turning back. But what if he isn’t there? What if he shoots me? What if… I don’t have the courage? Then that will not be the end of my mission. It will continue. I’ll track him down and deliver my message. I will evade his shots and prevail. I will deliver myself from my eternal passiveness. Because this can’t go on. Because everything can’t be in vain. Because these words… are true. To Boba Fett, bounty hunter Thank you. Thank you for showing that a killer can never become a hero. Thank you for teaching me that there are things, supported by you, worse than war. Thank you for waking me up that your deeds cannot be just another horror. Thank you for causing these ruins among ruins of war. For all of that was horrendous enough, not to scare me. It was atrocious enough to wake me up. It gave me a purpose. A purpose to end what you do. A motivation, that there are such horrors out here, that thinking about them is not enough. A meaning to this mission, that this delivery might bring deliverance. And a question. They say you can do everything, but can you look in a mirror? __________________ As usual, LDD file available here. I found Felucia the hardest planet to build on in this entire episode. Maybe because it came last, but the fact that it is really hard to do a lot of flexing in LDD (I hope overhang is still acceptable), and the fact that I couldn't use tons of transparent pieces without finishing my renders in a week or two, really didn't make things easier. It was also tricky to do something 'new' on this planet. So I just stayed with the over vegetated surface of the planet, with tons of weird plants. I had to be creative with parts, and I restricted myself further to not using parts that are intended to be used as vegetation. So hats, wigs, beards, animals and other oddities it is! I hope you enjoy spotting all kinds of far fetched parts usages in this creations. As I said, I found it hard to do something different, content wise. Therefor, I decided to make an original presentation. I hope you like the contrast between the greyscale and the colors, as it was hard to get it right. You have to have some kind of continuum in the vegetation, but not all of the parts are available both in color as in shades of grey. But I did my best, and I hope you like how it turned out. My goal was to make the story more visual, even on a symbolic level, and I hope that works. So that was it for this episode. I hope you enjoyed following the entire story, as we had a lot of fun writing it. Thanks again goatman461 for all of the feedback and the great ideas! I hope this can continue. Anyway, if you lost track of the rather big story, I don't blame you, and here is a little overview to help you out: Part 1 - When did the killer become the hero?by BEAVeR Part 2 - Something smells fishy by goatman461 Part 3 - Worse than war I by BEAVeR Part 4 - Worse than war II by goatman461 Part 5 - Just another horror I by BEAVeR Part 6 - Just another horror II by goatman461 Part 7 - Ruins among ruins by BEAVeR Part 8 - Ruins on top of ruins by goatman461 Part 9 - Delivery, deliverance by BEAVeR Part 10 - Felucia by goatman461
  13. If there's a thread like this already around, then I apologize in advance for that. Anyways, just to point out beforehand, I should point out that I use an Areo theme for Windows 7, which is the operating system I use. Whenever I open up Lego Digital Designer, the theme changes from Areo to just the basic Windows 7 theme. I've tried different methods on how to stop the program from changing the theme, but I haven't found a solution yet. It isn't a big issue personally, although it does get slightly irritating after a while. Is there a way to fix this issue?
  14. Here is a revamped and revised version of Harry Potter set 4728, Escape from Privet Drive. It includes a updated 1959 Ford Anglia 105E (in medium blue of course!) and an enlarged house, with a lamp by the front door and a printed number four tile below that. (The tile print isn't in LDD yet) This is what the house looks like when it is closed. It doesn't look that great, but it certainly looks better than it it did in the original 2002 set! (Link to the set: http://brickset.com/...om-Privet-Drive ) The house features a upstairs bedroom with bed, chest-of-drawers, and a lamp. The ground floor features a table with two chairs, couch and a fireplace. This car is based on the Ford Anglia 105E, which was made from 1959 to 1968. It had a 997 cc overhead-valve straight-4 with an oversquare cylinder bore for an engine and a four-speed (manual) gearbox with synchromesh on the top three forward ratios. (this was replaced by an all-synchromesh box in September 1962.) ...And no, the flying gear is / was NOT a standard feature! The estate car version was tested by British "Motor" Magazine in 1959 and reached a top speed of 73.8 MPH (118.8 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 26.9 seconds. (The version I built is the 2 door saloon) The inspiration for this model (and basis for most of it's design) was the 2002 Harry Potter set 4728, Escape from Privet Drive. The info above was read off of Wikipedia and retyped / rearranged. This particular model seen here is the 1959 version, complete with backward slanting rear window which supposedly kept it clear of rain... at least, that's what the advertisements said! The interior seating is not prototypical of the real car and does not really seat figures. HOWEVER, the model is modifiable to include doors which will allow two figures to sit inside. Also, the trunk opens to reveal a large luggage compartment. The car seen here is a heavily modified mash-up of sets 4728 and 71006, (Simpsons House, specifically the car) I used the same basic premise as the original Harry Potter set, but with the modern techniques and parts of the Simpsons pink car. I have the opening trunk and interior of the original set but I removed the opening doors on the premise of "it looks better and is much stronger". Now, I know this house isn't very accurate to the Movie / real location... It is more of a mash up of what the set was, and what could have been if it had been updated. The LDD file is right here, in case anyone wants it: http://www.mocpages....1409775098m.lxf

    MOC Modular Hospital (LDD)

Hi everyone This is my first MOC on Eurobricks that isn't for a contest, hope you enjoy! A few people have said that a Modular Hospital would be impossible, but I have had a go. I have tried to stay within the syle and restrictions of the official modular line whilst still keeping the essance of a hospital of this period (1950's/60's). Any constructive feedback is welcome! On the outside, I have attempted to add texture with brickwork and the rod of Asclepius (the snake around the staff) and the date in a similar style to the TH and FB. Parked outside is a period appropriate ambulance. The ground (first) floor has an emergency triage to treat patients, a reception desk and a Doctor's office where a poor woman is getting a booster shot! Details on this floor include a gold statue of the hospital's founder and (not visible in this picture) yellow bins for medical waste. Like the TH, there is an elevator rather than stairs, I prefer stairs, but a lift is more realistic for a hospital and there is not room for both. The middle floor contains the pharamcy, laboratory and X-Ray room. X-Rays are a slight anachronisim, but I couldn't not include them! The top floor is the ward where two patients are recovering. The man has a leg in plaster and the little girl has had her tonsils out, so she has ice cream. Also on this floor is the operating theatre where the surgeon is preparing to operate on a man who appears to be wide awake! Unfortunately there are no sleeping faces! I'm still fine tuning my creation, so I hope to post some updates soom. Sorry for the poor quality pictures, I'm still getting used to things around here! If you like the General Hospital, it is on Lego Ideas.
  16. This model is inspired by the Super Cycle as seen in The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Movie Video Game. I originally wanted to wrap chain track elements around a modern turntable element, similar to how the original models had chain track elements wrapped around an extra-large gear. Unfortunately, that didn't work out in LDD, so I settled for a standard wheel and tire combo instead. In addition, I couldn't find the correct torso and leg prints for Wyldstyle and Emmet, so I decided to be creative with their outfits. Click or tap any image for a larger version. 17. “There it is.” Dressed in smuggler clothes, we approach our destination. Just agent An and me, two pilots, on a rapid reconnaissance mission while the rest of the troops continue to search Ord Mantell. There’s only a small chance we will find him here. But the files on the datapad have led us to this once beautiful temple, hidden between the forests on the surface of Bothawui. They are rumoured to be infested with Rebels. Still, nothing indicates this place is of special importance… not anymore. “See that antenna hidden on the roof? We’re here alright... Yes, here is some kind of hatch. Let’s go in and take them by surprise!” Things always go so quickly with agent An. Frightfully quickly… “We aren’t wearing these smuggler clothes just to blow are cover the very second we enter the place. You don’t even know what we’ll find. It could be a Rebel cell wiped out by the Bounty Hunter. Or it could be a whole battalion of Rebels. If you’re not careful, you drop right into a sarlacc pit.” “What do you propose then, genius?” My colleague can be awfully sarcastic. Like a little boy robbed of his favourite Ackay action hologram… “Why don’t walk in casually? Pretend to be one of them, whoever is down there. Talk them into giving you the evidence. Why would you make this a massacre?” “Oh, I see… What if I go in and… improvise, while you stand guard here. Someone has to watch my back. Just blast anyone who makes a fuss here…” Sarcastic as his proposal may sound, I consent. I’m not getting involved in whatever happens down there. And the chances someone comes here are slim. “That’s what we’ll do. And if someone shows up here, I’ll… improvise.” He already threw open the hatch and descends the stairs. A muffled cry. I’m not staying here to find out from who. I’m not going to stay here to witness yet another tragedy. I don’t want to be part of this scene of death. I turn away. That temple… it seems like it is consecrated to life, to nature. Those two beautiful columns, with a closed bud and an open flower, the geometric patterns evoking foliage… I wonder what it was used for, what it all means. Yet, I’m attracted to it. It’s strange how nature is destroying the homage to itself. And even then, there might be a meaning to it all. This really is a sacred place. A reflection by… [soNE Ep. VI] 4 - What's the meaning of all this? by Bert.VR, on Flickr That was close. I got behind this rubble just in time. I don’t think those Bothans have seen me. But what now? What if they enter the hatch. I can’t just kill them… they might be civilians. I don’t know how it will help me, but contacting Goatm is the only thing I can think of. Our communication only makes things worse. Below, there will soon be an even greater ruin than up here. Gunfire and cries. The Bothans seem as distressed as I am, and decide to leave quietly. I guess they don’t want to be in this as much as I. So far for giving my colleague back cover. [soNE Ep. VI] 4 - Ruins among ruins by Bert.VR, on Flickr I can think again. So it is true: there really are… or sadly were Rebels down there. How did they get involved with the bounty hunter? Why would Boba Fett bother to steal a genuine Rebel datapad somewhere? Surely, a smaller clue would have done to blame the Rebels for that atrocious deed on Ord Mantell. Unless… he had it already with them, stolen it from Rebels that he had encountered. Maybe the datapad still holds some information. It was never meant to be investigated, but that might be the reason there is still useful information in there… It doesn’t take me long to find what I’m looking for. Indeed, the mission of the Rebel this datapad once belonged to, was to track down Boba Fett, in an attempt to rescue a certain Solo. So the Rebels are after the bounty hunter as well, at the same time. What a coincidence. At least, they have reason, unlike our own absurd mission… The truth is simple and astonishing. Our mission isn’t to get Boba Fett and deliver him some ridiculous ‘Thank you’ card at all. Sure, finding the bounty hunter is our priority, but the reason is something else entirely. This mission is a mere excuse to get to the Rebels. We only want to track the bounty hunter to know where to find the Rebels. It isn’t about finding him, it’s about finding those that are searching for him. Our real bounty, are the Rebels… Ruins. But why? Why weren’t we just told that we were hunting Rebels? Why did they try to conceal the real purpose of this mission from us? Is it to give us a false feeling of safety? Is it so that we ask as few questions as possible? Or is it to make us forget what we’re actually doing, to turn us into mindless machines? Why? I don’t know why. But what I do know, is that this is intolerable. One cannot just conceal a war from the people that are suffering the consequences! If there is a war, you can’t hide it. People have the right to know what’s going on. So that they either can support or resist it. There’s a difference between people that live to ignore the war, and people that live in ignorance of the war. But neither of them can have an opinion, neither of them gets listened to, neither of them gets a chance to stand up and change things. And both of them should be awakened. It’s hideous to hide things from people, without hiding the consequences for them. If people don’t know what’s happening, they have no chance of fighting back. Hiding these things, silencing them, is a crime. It is just like that bounty hunter, who’s example the Empire is apparently obediently following. He commits an atrocious crime, and walks away, blaming it on someone else, so that people are powerless to fight back. It’s like blaming the supernatural for something you did, so other people can’t do a thing about it. It’s hiding what you did behind an unbreakable façade. And that hiding, is a crime. And it has to be stopped. There’s only one way to break this wall of ignorance down. People have to know what’s really happening. Somebody has to tell it to them. No, not somebody, someone far away. Everybody. I have to tell the world what’s happening. Maybe that’s my purpose in life. It’s a nice feeling to know that… Of the whole world, I already informed one, myself. Next up, someone that has to know what he is doing himself… Boba Fett. ___________________ LDD file is available right here. As you might have noticed, the story is a collaboration with goatman461. The link in the middle leads to his entry, as the story could be inserted there. Be sure to check his fantastic entry out as well! And thanks a lot for the inspiration, goatman! With 1411 bricks, this is a rather parts intensive MOC (there are more pieces in the creation, than there are words in the enormous story above, 1133 words to be exact). That's due to the different patterns, on the wall and in the floor. When I look at it in reverse, there could be less, with areas of the ground that are already covered, but with this tight deadline, I'm leaving it as it is. Apart from the different patterns, I also tried to incorporate some extra nice features. I'm very pleased with the columns, and I tested the design in real life, so they're absolutely clean, and maybe I'll post a tutorial someday on how to make those shafts. I admit that the tree is probably a very fragile construction. I already tested this technique, but i can't assure this particular configuration will hold, so I hope you're fine with the fact that the idea is possible. The roof construction is overly complicated, but I like the way the bricks form nice patterns, so let's stick to this fragile design. There are also some features that aren't clearly visible on the pictures, like some cracks in the ceiling and ornaments towards the roof. You can check these out in the digital model. So I hope you like the MOC and the story, as I put a lot of work and thought into it. Let me know what you think. PS: I hope the story made you think once again, and I would be very pleased to know what you think the 'hidden' meaning of the temple (and the way it is destroyed) is (yes, I really put a meaning in there!). Cudos to the one that gets it right!
  18. It is easy to find something on Ord Mantell. As long as you’re looking for something that hasn’t been destroyed yet. The facility we’re headed to is surrounded by junk, and seems to be mostly built with junk. But still, it has something… different. It seems like the one place on this planet where something constructive is happening. Approaching a free space that seems supposed to be a landing platform, that thought becomes contradictive. This constructivism seems to come forth from destruction. Yes, the equipment seems to be made from old parts, nothing fancy here. And the facility seems to be made to recycle the pieces of junk that have replaced the planet’s vegetation. That explains why this facility is a concurrent to that… cancer on Fondor. There, they squeeze the planet out, not caring about the consequences. Here, they relieve the planet. For once, industry makes me happy. But the ominous absence of employers, the lack of movement and the complete silence remind me of the reason why we’re here. We’re here to find this constructivism probably destroyed… As the cloud of dust settles from our landing, probably the only living human in the environment approaches. A lone, shadowy figure. “We’re here to investigate the murder of your employer” There’s no escaping the truth. “Investigate? No one ever comes here to investigate! This is Ord Mantell. Half of us don’t even know what the word ‘police’ even means. But alright, I don’t want to mess with you. I hope you Imperials will punish the Rebels for what they did. The crime scene is this way. I’m the janitor by the way” Since the facility has no hover platforms, we walk. On the left, giant chaotic heaps of junk. On the right, neatly stacks of cubic blocks of metal. We ascend a riding maintenance platform to have a better view of the heart of this part of the facility. [soNE Ep. VI] 3 - Just another horror by Bert.VR, on Flickr “The trash compactor here is where it happened. The Rebels must have used this very platform to drop their victims in it. A technician once told me there’s a scanner in the machine that measures composition of whatever is in it. That’s to keep the metal pure, and it should prevent people getting caught in the machine as well. But those murderers were prepared, and as far as I can tell, they overwrote the system. Their victims died a horrible dead…” Atrocious. The bounty hunter could just have shot the boss. Maybe he thought that wouldn’t deliver his message clearly enough. No, he disposed of his victim as if the human was nothing more than a piece of junk. And in an act of perverse symbolism, he used this machine that gives new life to the junk to take the life of something as beautiful as a human. A human that once had conceived this great facility, that had tried to give a new life to this planet, hope to the people. And now he’s just another victim… No, it can’t be true… “And why? The boss was a good man. And his family … they didn’t even deserve a worthy dead.” Words fail me. Thoughts fail me. Goatm does the talking. He doesn’t seem to be affected at all. “How do you know it were the Rebels?” “They left a datapad behind, probably the one they used to overwrite the system. I haven’t had a closer look, but it is just too obvious. We don’t need an investigation. And who else would do this? Aren’t those terrorists the only ones who should commit such atrocities? Aren’t they the only beasts that are cruel enough? No one dares to come to work anymore, this might be a sign. I don’t know why, but it seems they want this facility closed. Maybe to prevent people having the means to defend themselves. But only they would be cruel enough to take away the hope of all the workers. I’m the only one left, just looking around to see if something could be of further use…” “Still, you can have no objection for my colleague taking a closer look here. I would like to have a word with you in the meantime.” I descend the platform, still baffled. The two are heading somewhere else with the platform. I can’t get over it. Some moments ago, I despised the bounty hunter, but I thought he wasn’t the only one to blame. There were still the people who gave him the task. If they hadn’t given it, he wouldn’t have done it. But now… murdering the family of the target could never have been the assignment. He did it for no reason, purely for the pleasure that gave him. The murdered boss was a businessman. He knew there were risks to what he did. He could have taken precautions. But his family… they had never taken the risk. Yet the bounty hunter took them, and killed them in the most atrocious way for absolutely no reason. This is no war. This is no job. This is plain murder. Of the most atrocious kind. But this bounty hunter, this plain murderer, he got away with it. Nobody suspects him. They suspect the Rebels. He even gets handsomely paid for this. This can’t go on. But nobody does something. Nobody even seems to care. Nobody knows… This is war. With all these battles going on, all these casualties, all this misery, such a murder is just ‘normal’. People die every day. They die by the hundred. Why care about these unimportant victims? It isn’t even important to find out why they died, not even who killed them. There is no police anyway. These things just happen every day. We should accept this. What has war done to the people? It has made a murderer of many a soldier. And it has made everyone indifferent. Nobody cares anymore. Nobody cares that there are more people dying than living these days. Whether it is in the war or not. From time to time, if someone gets killed they know, people wake up and think this can’t go on. But only to fall asleep again. It’s the war that killed them, and what can we do about the war? This just happens. Killing has become the new normal. How can this go on? How can people keep adoring murderers like Boba Fett? How can we want to thank him for his good work? How can I participate in this madness? I have to wake up, and stay awake. Before I can even start to think how to end this, how to wake up the world, I have to wake up myself. How? I have no idea, but this murdering ‘hero’ is not getting a thank you card from me. But I will find him. Datapad, show me the way to the land of the living. [soNE Ep. VI] 3 - I'm going to find him by Bert.VR, on Flickr _______________ The story continues in goatman461's build, right here. _______________ Thanks for reading another one of my heavy stories. I hope you like it as well as the build, and i do hope it makes you think. Let me know! I wanted to do something else for Ord Mantell. Because it would fit my story, and because making wreckage and pile it is just impossible in LDD. I hope this unexpected take can still please you. I tried to keep everything plausible to build, but with the complicated mechanics, it is often hard to keep track of the stability. And I know those pieces that make up the pillars of the platform have a certain flexibility. Maybe they're rigid enough to keep it up. If not, this would be the equivalent of fishing rope here, and I hope that's okay. Hopefully, this doesn't offend anyone. Finally, if some parts look a bit strange to you, that's due to artefacts in the render. Olive green renders horribly, more like sand green, so I had to adjust everything, and this might have some strange implications. Also, there were some polygons astray, and I had to edit them out. Hope it isn't to offensive for the eye... Thanks again, and if anyone want to have a look around the model, here is the LDD file.
  19. This is not my creation, but it is so far my best LDD's physics/mechanism test. The most difficult part of this one is to modify wings mechanism to make them work in LDD. Sorry that I can not share the LXF due to copyrights. 20. Please post any cuusoo ideas that you have uploaded to lego ideas here. It will be a good way to see how many people use LDD for designs and it will help you collect supporters Here are some of my projects https://ideas.lego.com/projects/78290 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/78669 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/78669
  21. This is my custom device dock that can hold both my iPod touch and my Windows Phone at once--hence the name iWin. Tap or click any picture to enlarge it. In the front, there are two arms that ratchet down to prevent the device in the lower dock from tipping over when in a vertical orientation. In the rear, there is a knob that can adjust the angle of the iWin's rear frame. All 4 wheels can be unlocked (by pulling out the black bushing pins) for rolling around, or locked in place to act as rubber feet. The iWin can lean back very far, but there are a couple of angled TECHNIC beams that prevent the iWin from collapsing under the weight of any devices it is holding. Those beams also restrict the maximum vertical angle of the iWin. From left to right: iWin holding my Windows Phone (a Nokia Lumia 920 for those interested), iWin holding my 5th-gen iPod touch with an official LEGO case, and iWin holding both of my devices. All of the above pictures (except for the one in which the iWin is leaning back--I used my Lumia 920's own camera for that picture) were taken using a GoPro Hero3+ Silver Edition camera that I won in a sweepstakes. LXF File (current version) LXF File (old prototype, version 1) LXF File (old prototype, version 2) Brickshelf Gallery Bonus: I made a special stand for my iPod touch that attaches to its LEGO case. 22. I need this part (4596 Lever Small Base) disconnected from this. In LDD I can only get them connected (like this one), and I don't know if it is possible to seperate them? I need the base part for eyes in a model, so it will look a bit strange if I can't get them seperated. Any help is appreciated!
  23. Hi guys! Here's my first tutorial for animating in LDD, for starters I focused on basic tools and settings in LDD.
  24. The Fondorian at the reception told us his employer was inspecting his mine. The officer I accompany just had to lower his eyebrows a bit to convey he was in a hurry. One of the mine’s hover platforms was assigned to us promptly. Your average platform. Average enough for me to pilot it. I was brought to make sure we didn’t need any unwanted guests. That would only complicate things. So now I’m flying this primitive platform around on this primitive facility. This place where they never end scraping the skin of the planet, to dump it in great piles, in search of whatever preciousness they may find. Because war’s hunger for construction materials is never satisfied. So they dig, dump and search. No need for fancy, clean equipment. The planet doesn’t charge tax for keeping it clean anyway… Between this chain of dusty mountains, inhabited by dirty excavators and with conveyors for trees, a bold white figure stands out. This vision of neatness in all of this toxic chaos. The officer has no doubt is the boss of this mine, inspecting the premises. We’re about in hearing range. [soNE Ep. VI] 2 - Worse than war by Bert.VR, on Flickr “The bounty hunter Boba Fett frequents this place” It wasn’t even a question. “Tell us what you know of him” “No one knows him. How could I help my friends of the Empire?” “Tell us everything, or we’ll make this official” The Fondorian seems the kind of businessman to understand what this implies. “Well, I don’t know him. Not beyond the point of his business. I can’t really say he works for me, but let me say I give him… inspiration. From time to time, when my sales aren’t increasing, I give him ideas what to do. War is great for business, you know. Because war brings fear, and fear brings the want for protection. And for that, you need materials. But war seems such a far-off thing for some people. The fear disappears. The money disappears. So we need to get war back to those people” “And that’s what you need the bounty hunter for” “He eliminates certain well-chosen targets. He destroyers certain facilities. But that’s something every bounty hunter can do. But to make the people believe it were the Rebels, you need the best. You need the best to frighten people with their own illusions, to make them feel unsafe, to make them long for protection, to make them buy, whether they really need it or not. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of terror. On the contrary. It’s good for commerce. And it keeps people awake, always on the lookout for the enemy. And it keeps people asleep, not complaining – this world is perfect, as long as they keep those Rebels outside. That’s why you Imperials let me do this off the books. You’ve known this for ages. But why this sudden interest?” “The bounty hunter was here recently. For a job of you” “People in the junkyards of Ord Mantell seem to think they have nothing to lose. They think everything there has been destroyed already. It was time to make them see that differently. And the loss of a concurrent won’t hurt business” These last words can only faintly be heard from the platform I’m steering back to our ship. But that doesn’t stop me of feeling a deep disgust. Of this man in whose mind resonates only the vocabulary of commerce. It’s not about the planet he is poisoning, it’s about the resources. It’s not about the fear people experience, it’s about what makes them hunger for those resources. Using war as a lucrative selling strategy. Using terror as marketing. There are no casualties, only losses of clients. I thought war was the worst thing imaginable. But people fighting a war are no villains. They want to end the war as soon as possible, in their favour. They are no villains compared to these… They don’t want the war to end. They want it to go on, to be everywhere, to destruct everything as long as it is profitable. This is not a human. This is not even a machine. But these villains could be stopped. If there was no cause, if there were no means to accomplish their goals. War gives them the ideas. And scum like bounty hunters, like Boba Fett, give them the opportunity. He doesn’t question what he’s doing. He can say he’s just the blaster in another’s hand. And he is right. The blaster never questions the actions of that hand. The killing is not his responsibility. But the blaster gave every one the opportunity to murder without having the need of the courage to look into the victims eyes. The blaster invites the user to use it, to kill. And so it is with the bounty hunter. The killer doesn’t even have to see his victim, he never has to touch a weapon. Boba Fett can say he hasn’t killed a soul in his life. But he offers the possibility. And should he who offers the opportunity be a bit less despicable than he who takes it? I never liked the bounty hunter, but now I’m utterly disgusted by him. _____________ LDD File to be found here. I really wanted to go for a different side of Fondor for this one, vast and dirty. I had a lot of fun with the bucket conveyor and the platforms, but the heap of dirt proved to be very difficult, both due to the shape and to the limited amount of bricks in dark orange. I hope you like the way it turned out (with a lot of studs!). It was quite impossible to contain it to the 16x16 base, so I hope the judges are okay with a one stud overhang of some plates. I also had to make the decorations for the torsos of the officer and the pilot. They can be found in this album, if anyone would want to use them for their renders. I hope you like this installment! Comments are always welcome!

    Submarine

I made a submarine in Lego Digital Designer, I rarely use LDD but I had this design in my head which I couldn't realize with my current lego collection. So I decided to make a Cuusoo project out of so hopefully I will be able to buy my own set one day. I don't really like these LDD screenshots, I hope I manage to render it at some point, I didn't have succes rendering so far . More pictures can be found at Mocpages. Since I posted it there I found out that a lot of people prefer a different color than blue, so I'm counting on you to speak out which of following colors you prefer for this submarine. Blue is my own favourite color, luckely it's very easy in LDD to change colors; EDIT : technical problems, for now check out the alternate colors here Yellow Red Sand green Gray For the interested; the Cuusoo Project. This is actually my first serious cuusoo project, considering I would want to buy this set myself .
