We're back with another 12x12 vignette contest! Licensed Cozy Corners Contest February 1 - March 4 2023 Build a 12x12 vignette depicting a character's personal room/space/home. Think Tony Stark's workshop, Indiana Jones' office, a Disney Princess suite, or something entirely from your imagination that would suit a character's place where they go to relax. Thanks to LEGO, one first place winner will get a 120EUR set of their choice, and one runner up will get a 60EUR set of their choice. Contest Entry Rules One entry per Eurobricks member You can join Eurobricks to enter the contest (but we'd like you to stick around!) The contest will run from February 1st 2022 to March 4th 2023. As long as it isn't past 11:59pm on March 4th on Midway Island, you can still enter. To enter, post just one picture of your MOC in the Cozy Corners Contest entry topic. Your MOC must fit within a 12x12 frame but does not have to be on an actual base. No height limit. Your MOC must relate to any Licensed property LEGO has done past or present, excluding Star Wars, and fit the brief of a character's personal place. You don't have to use LEGO's parts/Minifigures from your chosen License, but the property should be clear. (I.e. you can make your own Indiana Jones Minifigure from other LEGO parts, but it should be identifiable as Indy) All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. Welcome back to the Winter Village! To celebrate our return there is a festival to enjoy, We need you, Eurobricks members, to populate this festival with attractions, stalls and larger than life characters. With three categories to choose from, everyone has a chance to enter. Category A: Festival Attraction The festival has to have some big draws to attract visitors: Fairground rides, walkthrough attractions, contest grounds, games and more to excite and entertain. This category has to fit on a 32x32 baseplate, and of course match with the winter village theme. Category B: Festival Stall Once everyone has had their fun on the big attractions (or if the line is too long!) they will want to check out something smaller. A festival stall could be selling hot food, warm beverages or any number of lovely gift ideas for visitors to take home for the big day. Of course, a festival also needs sideshows, meet and greets and Photo Ops to make some great memories. This category has to fit on a 16x16 baseplate, it can be just one stall, or a few market booths or even a fenced space for whatever Winter or Holiday activity you want to see. Category C: Entertainer Create a wandering entertainer (or pair) who is in the market to spread fun. A little different to the Meet and Greet, as these guys and gals are doing magic tricks and handing out treats, spreading wonder in the crowd and adding to the atmosphere. So, nope, you can't just enter a lone Santa figure or an Elf (off the shelf!), there has to be some character there. This is the smallest, on a 6x6 base, at least one minfigure (max three: Entertainer, assistant and observer). Theme it to the event but don't let that limit you (Holiday Ninja anyone?). While plenty of entertainers are wandering the winter festival dressed as Santa Claus, one person decided to go this year as a chimney. Next year he'll probably choose something a little more traditional.

Good afternoon. Here is my entry for the Create a Theme Contest, for both the set and minifig lineup categories. Following the example of past historic LEGO themes like Pirates and Wild West, I have decided to create... Frontier Adventure Category I: Theme Concept Based off the westward expansion seen in the Ohio River Valley and Upper Canada, the theme sees various settlers exploring the open frontiers around the Clay River Valley: trapping, trading, hunting, and scratching out a homestead. The settlers trade with the local tribe and their leader Chief Redjacket. Redjacket's tribe in turn keeps peace with the settlers and their leader Governor McCaine. However, the fierce River Rats led by Captain LaCrosse cause mischief along the river valley: robbing flatboats, destroying homesteads, and stealing whatever isn't nailed down. It is up to Governor McCaine and the militia commanded by Colonel Blaire to round up the River Rats and lock them away. Birch Hollow Campout (78 pieces, $9.99) While trekking through the woods, every hunter needs to stop awhile to enjoy a decent meal and a warm fire. And it's also nice to have a friendly tribesman to share it with. This is an excellent starter set for anyone wanting to build up their frontier community. Includes a campfire with turkey, a birch tree, flowers, owl and snake, and two minifigures: a native tribesman and long-hunter. Flatboat Landing (940 pieces, $99.99) One of the River Rats is lying in wait of a flatboat loaded with silver, while the local long-hunter has alerted the Governor at the Flatboat Landing cabin. While the boatmen work to unload the cargo to store in the cabin's cellar, the River Rat knows another way inside. This set features an open-backed cabin and flatboat with cargo hoist, flowers and full birch tree, and six minifigures: Governor McCaine, a long-hunter, a settler woman, two boatmen, and a river rat. The flatboat's cargo hoist can rotate 360º (although Stud.io has its limitations when it comes to string attachment). The flatboat also features a front grasshopper gun and long oar at back for steering. The interior of the log cabin has a table, bookshelf, and fireplace, along with a cooking-pot and secret hatchway to the cellar. The cellar is filled with all kinds of goods: bottles of sarsaparilla, a box of hardtack, a barrel of gunpowder, a musket, and a chest for other oddities, plus a ladder to the main cabin. On the cliffside of the bluff, there is a tiny entry-way for the River Rats to sneak through and take away whatever goods they want. Naturally, this theme would include further sets, like a militia outpost, Chief Redjacket's village, and a River Rat hideout. Category II: Minifigure Lineup Much like Pirates, Wild West, or Castle, this theme has a few factions making up its lineup of characters. The River Rats: Fierce robbers and river-pirates who are the scourge of the Clay River Valley. On the left is their leader, Captain LaCrosse, a lifelong criminal making a dishonest living in the forests of the new frontier, and not above evicting widows from their homes or kidnapping children for ransom. The Territorial Militia: Formed by the local settlers, the militia's duty is to keep the frontier safe for everybody, namely by smoking out the River Rats. From left to right, we have a private, a sergeant, and Colonel Blaire. The uniforms are based somewhat off of Canadian militiamen from the War of 1812, using Star Wars torsos. I think they look pretty good. Chief Redjacket's Tribe: This native tribe has lived peacefully in the Clay River Valley for hundreds of years, and offer to help out and trade with the new settlers in the frontier. They dress in a mixture of European and Indigenous clothing, much like the historical tribes living in the Ohio and St. Lawrence valleys during the early 19th Century. From left to right, we have an alert hunter, a young brave-to-be with his trusty hatchet, a tribal woman, and Chief Redjacket himself. Governor and Mrs. McCaine: The McCaines are the leaders of the settlers in the Clay River Valley. While both appreciate the finer things in life, they both care about the people depending on them for guidance, along with keeping peace with Chief Redjacket and trying to find a way to take down the River Rats. The Settlers: The settlers are a brave group of farmers, hunters, craftsmen and their families trying to make a living out on the frontier. They try to keep friendly with Chief Redjacket's tribe, and try to band together against the vile River Rats. From left to right, we have a farmer, young fisher-boy, long hunter with his trusty rifle, a pioneer girl collecting wildflowers, and housewife out drawing water from the well. Hello! This is my contest entry for Category B: Minifigure Lineup. Description: “For centuries, the Order of Bookkeepers kept watch over a library of thousands of ancient books containing stories and legends from kingdoms all over the world. However, many of these books disappeared throughout the ages, and their contents have been lost to history. Asimov, the last remaining Bookkeeper, sends his lone pupil Christie out into a fantastical land of magic and mystery to seek out the lost tomes and restore their knowledge to the world. Christie will brave daring challenges and make surprising allies on her quest to rebuild the library, perhaps creating a few stories of her own along the way.” Each set contains at least one “tome,” a unique book associated with a character or location in that set; they can all be collected and stored in the mid-tier set “Asimov’s Library.” This theme was inspired by my love for reading fantasy stories as a child, and designed to be less focused on conflict than other LEGO themes and more focused on exploration and discovery. Minifigures: Christie When she isn’t falling asleep during one of Asimov’s endless lectures, Christie can typically be found nestled deep in his library with a book in hand, dreaming of going on some fantastical adventure beyond the walls of her quiet town. She’s nervous about embarking on her first quest, but excited for the chance to finally live out her fantasies. Brontë As the self-proclaimed queen of the spiders, Brontë is used to getting singled out as the “bad guy” even if she doesn’t mean anyone any harm. Living in a spooky forest probably doesn’t help, but hopefully someone will come along who’s able to look past her frightening exterior. Shelley Shelley will tell anyone who asks that she dreams of becoming a famous pirate one day, but for now she’s content adventuring with Christie to seek out “tomes” or whatever they’re looking for. She wasn’t paying a lot of attention during the mission briefing, honestly. Joyce Joyce is a mischievous but kind-hearted fairy who loves playing pranks on unsuspecting adventurers. Her favorite pastime is spreading rumors about the “fierce dragon” that guards a vast hoard of treasure in the Shimmering Glade, neglecting to mention that it’s a loyal pet of hers who wouldn’t harm a fly. Asimov As the last of the Bookkeepers, Asimov wishes more people would share his passion for learning and worries that all of his work will soon be forgotten. Still, he’s proud of how far his pupil has come and confident that she’ll succeed on her journey. The Librarian’s Ghost The ghost has spent years haunting the castle where he once served as a Royal Bookkeeper, hoping that someone will come along and find the tome he devoted decades of his life to writing. Doyle Doyle’s fear of heights make his profession as an airship captain’s first mate rather questionable, but his fierce loyalty makes him a valuable ally even when he’s scared out of his wits. Captain Hemingway The honorable Captain Hemingway has spent most of his life navigating the Seven Skies in his airship, carrying intrepid adventurers on countless voyages to distant lands around the world. [OcTRAINber 2022 - Moc] - FS Vnx806.200 in 1:87 scale

Hi all!!! Some days ago, back from holidays, I found here on EB that the new OcTRAINber contest has been started earlier!!! Well, I was expecting it in October, so I was a bit "unprepared"!!! Topic is particularly interesting , but it's difficult to immediately figure out what to prepare. I was quite lucky, since during the holidays, I had the the opportunity to spot a special hystoric train on the Ceva-Ormea line, in Piedmont. This line was literally the last one adopting the three-phases alternate current "Italian" system, and was converted to diesel-only in 1973. Therefore, being unusable on the new DC system, all the old locomotives were scrapped, or abandoned...or in one specific case...CONVERTED. Here's a specific page (in Italian - but can be translated by the browser), showing the Ceva Ormea in its electric and diesel era. As you can see,the AC system required two overhead wires. http://www.stagniweb.it/foto6.asp?File=l_aln2&Inizio=26&Righe=10&InizioI=1&RigheI=50&Col=5 Among all the AC locomotives, the FS E.550 was the smallest electric "three-phases" locomotive of the whole lot. A small wonder that allowed to pull trains on the terrible Giovi line, which was a real pain for steam locomotives. The AC system was affordable, easy to use, reliable, and smooth. The only problem was related to the fixed speeds (25,50,75, and the top limit of 100 Km/h) , which declared the end of the AC and the adoption of the still used DC system (started with the glorious E.626) The E.550 is only 9.5 meters long, has 5 axles (central one with plain wheels, the outer axles have a lateral movement of 20mm), so it's a pretty agile locomotive. I sincerely DO NOT KNOW if it has ever been used on the Ceva-Ormea line. Now that we've introduced the E.550, let's forget about it for a moment,and let's move again to the Ceva-Ormea line - to be precise to Ceva Station, which is near to my holidays house. Back in the late 80s, my dad used to travel from Genova to Ceva during summer months, staying in our house for weekends. Therefore, on fridays my mom and me used to wait him at Ceva station. This station has a backyard with some dead tracks, which at the time were full of old stuff and easily accessible, since it was near the car parking. In this yard I could see a lot of things - an old shunter, some wagons, a tender... and THAT thing ! For more info, look here - the first photo is clearly depicting what I used to see back in the days: http://www.stagniweb.it/foto6.asp?File=trifase2&Inizio=27&Righe=10&InizioI=1&RigheI=100&Col=5 At the time I tought it was an old, odd diesel snowplow, resembling me a...slug. Then a very nice man working at the station explained me that it once WAS a locomotive and then it was converted to a dummy unit, needing another locomotive to push it. It's marked as VNX 806.200, and it's basically an E.550 without motor,rods,electrical equipment...and with a big snow plow mounted frontally. It was used to clean the Ceva-Ormea line and was permanently assigned (and parked) in Ceva station. I saw a restored VNX at the Savigliano's museum, but it was another unit (VNX 806.221). The 806.200 is currently parked in another station near Turin (I hope waiting for a full restore). This is what I want to propose this year for OcTRAINber contest, and I can tell you it will be in 1:87 (4-wide) and will be a display only model. There will be also an E.550, so I can show the BEFORE and AFTER together (in a pretty limited space!) See you in the next days!!! Davide -

Here is my participation in this contest: I try as much as possible to make my mocs alive thanks to the minifigs, their expressions and positions... This little contest allowed me to continue to practice. Passionate about medieval and fantastic creations, I acquired some Lotr and Hobbit minifigurines. The theme was therefore imposed on me... and I immediately thought of this scene from the film « Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers » The most challenging was to place a warg (which is almost 12 studs long), a horse and two minifigs on a 12 by 12 surface. (I finally added a third figure) I hope you like this moc and that many of you will participate! -
Deadline extended to 6th of June, anywhere in the world. May the 4th be with you, always! Celebrate the unique Star Wars universe with us by entering the Eurobricks SW Concept Art Contest. One of the things that makes the Star Wars universe so recognizable is its visual style. Artists like Ralph McQuarrie and Doug Chiang set the stage for the galaxy we know and love through their concept art sketches that have caught the eye of George Lucas, Jon Favreau and other Star Wars film makers. For this contest take a Star Wars concept art piece or a specific scene from a movie or show and turn it into a Lego MOC! You can take a large scene like this famous one from Ralph McQuarrie: Or you can go simpler like this cargo ship built from a rough sketch by John Giang: You can also do a cut-away shot of a vehicle or a freeze-frame recreation from a specific moment! You can use one of the "Art of Star Wars" books like those pictured in the background of the announcement photo. Or you can find a picture online to use as a reference. Googling Ralph McQuarrie and Doug Chiang will give you a lot of results. But you can also look up articles like these from StarWars.com or these. If you want to recreate a scene directly from a movie/show you can use the Visual Guide or Visual Dictionary books like this one or this one. Please include a link or picture of your reference material in your entry. Rules Only one entry per person. There is no maximum or minimum size limit. The contest will run from 4th May to 4th June 6th June, 2021. As long as it's still June 4th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified. ... This contest is going to be even harder than i thought. Here's what two days got me so far: It's a chassis with 3 axles, the first steered and the last driven. The feature currently: reducing the trackwidth by one stud on either side: Top: Bottom: Currently every function is manual. -
[TC20] 8448 ReStreet Sensation

Here we go! Was late to the party so I had less "choices" and lack of blue. I ended up picking the 8448. Not sure which body style to do, as the set has the option to build different styles. This set is large enough to be able to add modern touches. Like an 8 speed transmission, paddle shifter, and a smoother body. It's easier when you can make the original. In trying to keep it close to the original design and layout while adding the modern features is still proving hard. I had remake the transmission like six times to fit in the original chassis layout. This was the third to last transmission. But so far it's coming together! Still lots of work to go, but it's been raining in Florida so I got time to work on it. -
[TC20] 8854 Power Crane Update (Free Instructions)

I couldn't sit this contest out. It pulls on my nostalgic strings too much, so know I had to participate. I started with a list of 32 sets that I wanted to consider. Some were immediately thrown out for lack of interest (6537, 6615, 6524, 6590, 8836, 6698, 6669, 8835, 5541, 8286, 5935, 6331, 8839, 6646, 6334, 6670, 8840, 8872, 8280). I had a top thirteen, and started throwing more out for various reasons (How do I do the canopy of 6887, 6542 and 6541 would be too big to do them justice today, 8880 is too sacred to do well, how do I do the motorcycle of 6354 or the cars of 6337 and 6335 (I'm watching you close @mpj)). Some I would like to do at another time (6344, 8858, the helicopter of 8062). Finally I came down to three that I created a MOC up for: 6357, 8855, and 8854. I may still do one of the others at another time, but for now I am going to focus on 8854, unless I run into problems. The set is iconic, well loved, and the right size. I am going to keep the scale pretty close (1.07:1), and I'll keep all the features. At this point, I plan to add a fake engine and suspension to the features 8854 already has (steering, outriggers, boom slewing, boom lift, boom extension, winch). I was hoping to have more done by now, but I guess it took me a while to decide on which set to do. It's pretty rough right now, but I have the size set, and a schematic of where all the mechanical parts are going to go. We'll see how this goes.... -
[TC20] 6774 Alpha Team ATV

Hi everyone, this is my going to be entry to the studless rebuilding contest. I’m too young to remember the classic Technic sets, so I chose one of my oldest and favourite sets, 6774 Alpha Team ATV from 2001. The scale is going to be as close to 2:1 as possible, using the larger track links. I am also going to try and match the colours and shapes of the bricks used for the internal structure. The originals functions will be replicated, with opening cockpits, hidden lights, winch, and removable ladder/catapult thing. Imitating the cockpits will be tricky, I’ll probably just do an outline with technic connectors due to a lack of trans-dark blue pieces in the right shapes. Below is a comparison between the original set and the chassis so far. -

I have started building the 8846 Tow truck studless remake for the "[TC20] Technic Studless Recreation Contest" I have started with the front axle: As you can see, I will use a bit wider tires, also It will be one stud wider, so it will be 13, not 12 studs wide. Then, I have built the rear axle, and almost finished the chassis. This is all progress for now, more in next post. -

Hi everyone I wanted to share my latest creation called "Seaside Memories". It's a little beach scene inspired by my childhood holidays at the British Seaside. The model contains less than 250 bricks and is built on a 16 x 16 plate. I've included 2 traditional beach huts and striped deck chairs, sandcastles, a picnic on the sand and much more. Everything you need for a fun day out at the beach. The beach huts both feature simple interiors details. I entered this model in to a recent LEGO IDEAS contest to design a seaside themed set. I'm really pleased to say that today it has been chosen as one of the 15 finalists in the contest. It's now down to a public vote to decide the winner and if this model wins it will be made in to a future gift with purchase LEGO set. Hi everyone, On LOWLUG is a Castle contest from beginning of March till the end of April. There are 5 categories in this contest. Vignet Flora Battle/Duel Village life Headquarters I've build several MOC's for this contest. I'll share them in this topic. Vignet - Classic Castle This is the only Classic Castle minifig I have. It was suitable to use for a vignet. Vignet - Knights Kingdom II A young Vladek is at the small gate of the Black Fortress. Duel - Knights Kingdom This is the duel between Cedric the Bull and Princess Storm. Flora - Fantasy Just a small scene with more focus on plants and trees. For this build I used a Magenta baseplate. Inspiration for this build came from the album cover of a Melodic Death Metal band called Black Forest with the album Dream. Flora - Forestmen Of course I've had to build a Forestmen MOC for this contest. The Forestmen are in the forest for hunting. They have spotted a deer. Headquarters - Lion Knights Photo is a bit too bright. Sorry for that. Lion Knights are leaving the city. Some people are in the street getting the usual stuff. Here is my vision for the official Lego bonsai for the competition organised by Brickset : Zombillénium Bonsai Tree by Stephle59, sur Flickr No leaves here, just the dead trunk, in its pot, decorated with a few graves. The support consists of the white horns, which gives a small insectoid shape to the dark purple semi-rounded pot.

**EDIT: New images here ** This is my entry for the LDD/LDraw Contest 2014 free build category. Since I always dreamed of traveling the world in something like this I created a LEGO version: the roof can be lifted while the truck is parking. The truck carries a motorbike on the back. The roof is walkable and can be used as a terrace =) Of course it has a comfortable interiour. The truck has two bedrooms (one in the roof). In case of a zombie apocalypse it has some flick fire missiles hidden behind the front bumper ;-). Here is the LDD File. Best regards marv

It's been ages since I've joined a contest here on EB. Luckily, seems the time and other circumstances are just right and I've never built a motorbike MOC before, so this contest realy tickled me. I am not much of WIP topics guy, but it seems that people here mostly like WIP topics, so here is what I've managed so far... who knows where and what this will end up to be... we'll see I guess. Not sure if I'll be able to cram something soficticated in its belly... not to much space I'm affraid. Best regards and Merry Christmas everybody!
