    Stoneguard Hold

Thanks all! As you guys discovered, it's simply brown plates, and the fireplace lights up. It uses an exo-force light brick, triggered by a crank system hidden inside a window. The inside of the keep involves a gear system to activate it. I've since acquired two more of the light bricks and cables, and would love to make a copy of it where all 3 flames work, in a future model! As for the interior, I'm afraid it doesn't. Aside from the room with the fireplace, there's no interior to it. Most of the internals are filled with structuring to keep it's shape and strength. Thanks again, -John L.

Hi all! I haven't posted here in a really long time - I don't think I know many (or any!?) of you anymore. But I thought I'd show you all my newest model: It can be seen on three sites, depending on which format you prefer: Brickshelf MOCpages Flickr Thanks for looking again, and let me know what you think! -John L.

    The Calibra

Hi all, Here's a micro ship I made a week or so ago: Here's a glimpse into a bit of the internal workings, if you're interested: Thanks, and let me know what you think! Enjoy! -John "J1A3L5" L.

    Helms Deep

Well, maybe this is something I can do for version 2. I want to change the tower and I need to add some sort of burp/landscape to the end of the wall as well. This would mean I can stand all the figures on baseplates with the landscape. Try to avoid a BURP landscape. If you do use them, cover them well! I would recommend using dark grey bricks, and mixing in some green or brown. (Or both, if done well!) Do the orcs have any sort of siege weapons? Ladders? Catapults? Without them, no matter how many troops they have they're useless. I'd recommend making some ladders for them, and having a little sub-scene with a ladder being "pushed off the wall", as was seen in the movie. Great work, can't wait to see it with the figs! Mwuhahahahah!

Awesomeness. My only complaint is that it is structure-only, and is completely devoid of any landscaping. Great work on what is there, yet it seems like there's a lot to be desired. This makes me want to try another LOTR MOC now...

    2004/2005 Sets and discussion thread

In my opinion, the best way to do the lightup function is something that Rob did to one of his: A contact between the palm of the hand, and the outside of the accessory to be lit. I believe in this case it was when the blaster was turned sideways it broke the connection, but when it was facing ahead it was lit. Still a cool idea. What about if the lightsaber was in the figure's hand it lit, but when you removed it from the hand it deactivated?

Ah! The sweet sight of bricks..

Yeah... he had 4500 but I just took 200. I don't need that many! Indeed. 4500 is only really necessary if you are building a large-scale building, such as the seller was... Wow! I am hoping to get some of the assorted light grey packs and dark grey plates as well. Maybe I can order them for my birthday next month! Well I'm thinking about buying 1200+ Old Dark Grey 2x4's from a friend of mine for a project I'm working on...I probably will. The brick packets are cool and all, but sometimes they're just not enough.

Ah! The sweet sight of bricks..

Congrats, I take it these were from the guy on FBTB selling them? Myself, yesterday I got 6 more packets of old light grey. The S@H ones. :-D As well as a couple dark grey, and a couple brown and a couple light grey plates...

    Mini-fig Me.....

Custom!? Blasphemy! The "Snap Lockit" head is one of my favourite town heads. It's fairly simple, and not over-done, but a really cool head.

    Enough said.

this time I need your help!!!

Well, if I get bored I'm sure I could randomly pick a set from my LUGNET Set List and review it...that would save me from boredom a lot of times... :) Only recent sets or old, better sets too?

    Castle Gate

hehe, this words came from our little old-grey-bricks-junky.... :D :P Grey 2x4's forever! I have about a tubful right now. I'd like to get more, but I doubt that will happen, at least anytime soon. Then I have another tub of other size bricks. One thing that must be realized about having a huge amount of 2x4's is the fact that they're useless. Unless you want to have an awfully plain wall or something, you need a fairly sizable amount of other pieces. Fortunately I have more or less balanced my 2x4 supply and other grey brick supply so they are about equal when I use them. :)

    Castle Gate

Thanks all, and sorry I'm replying so late. Unfortunately the back of the wall is plain, therefor I didn't photograph it. I just filled it in with more grey bricks so it's solidly backed, too. Aside from that, there is nothing to see. (Except the simple pin LEGO-style pin system for keeping the gate up, and the supports for the landscaping.) The Corner Tower was taken apart in order to make this one, and within two days of photographing this gate it was 100% apart and sorted: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/j1a3l5/C...on/dscn4296.jpg However, if I were able to have this Gate and the Corner Tower constructed at the same time, they would blend together seamlessly. However, I've started a new castle MOC now. It was inspired by several MOC's I've seen online, as well as the fact I got an additional brand-new 350 old grey and old dark grey bricks in the mail yesterday...for free. :) Thanks again, glad you all enjoyed it!

    At the radio

I have only heard the "Mutter" Rammstein CD, but I really enjoy it. (No clue what the lyrics mean, I only know English, some French and a tiny amount of Spanish - No German!) I enjoy most forums of metal. Right now I'm listening to Slayer. Pantera is a cool band, too, very similar. I usually listen to more modern bands like Slipknot, KoRn, Disturbed, Nothingface, and the like, though.
