this is great - the style of Lego I love best - more detail than genuine Lego City creations, but not as parts and time intensive as the Modular scale. Your design is great, and could easily be modified into dozens of other stores. It's inspiring too, I feel like getting out the Lego! How are you doing your stickers?

Dissolution of a monastery 1536

I'm in awe . . . Wonderful detail, great concept, and great action. -
My main instrument is guitar but I can also play the piano, bass and drums. I'm also a trained live sound and recording engineer, and do a wee bit of freelancing when I get a chance. I play mainly praise and worship music, but also play in a blues/funk cover band from time to time. Main gear: 2001 G&L ASAT special, Eventide TimeFactor, Fender Bassman head with Mesa Boogie speaker cabinet. 1970's Ibanez 4-string bass, 1984 Lowden acoustic guitar.

Electric Guitar and Amplifier
harrysnapperorgans replied to Carbohydrates's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Very cool. I really like the amp, although I think the 2x12 cab should be taller? or is it a Mesa Theil style small cab? Anyway, add a good delay pedal, and I would total love this rig! -
I just find this interesting. Lego seems to be primary promoted as a boy's toy. There has been the Beville and Clikit lines, which were designed for girls- but only younger ones . . . The thing is, a lot of Lego relates to real life or history. Sets like town, western, castle, and even space could be enjoyed equally by girls and boys, men and women. I think the one reason that less girls are into lego comes down to a basic thing. Minifigs. I have around 50 minifigs. Of that number, I believe 5/6 are female figs. That's a pretty poor ratio. And until recently, there hasn't been much variation in faces and hairpieces for female figs. (The Indy range has done wonders for this!) Do you think that this puts females off Lego? And how could Lego attract more TFOLS and AFOLS? And finally some of my favourite builders - Amy Hughes, Heather LEGOGIRL, Rita Starlings, Deborah Higdon-Leblond, Mandy Dee, Tânia Baixinho, and Stacy Sterling. Not because they are female, just because I'm blown away by their attention to detail, designs, and incredible MOC'ing.

I have a great cat called Fidget the TinkleKitten. She was a stray who lived under my house. She was horribly thin and her fur was in a shocking condition. Over the period of a few months, my wife and I fed her up and built up her confidence. Finally she made it into the kitchen, always sleeping right next to the door for a quick escape if needed. Now after about two years she is as tame as can be and happy as Larry. She's called Fidget because she is incredibly nervous around new people/things. If friends come around to our house she will run away in terror. Interestingly, she will watch my wife and I with friends, and if she sees us give them a hug or a handshake, she figures that these people are her friends too, and will come out and try to find someone to go to sleep on. And she's call Tinkle Kitten, because she was very hard work to get toilet trained! Pics coming!

Apocalyptic Community Build - Building Time
harrysnapperorgans replied to Skinny Boy's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Hey guys. Just popping in with a progress report. I was going to build a bar, but inspiration didn't strike. It was very, very boring and lame. So I got thinking about what would be valuable in a post-apoc world. I kept coming back to fuel. So I ended up building a used tire depot. In a world of stark desert with no wood to burn, old rubber as a fuel would be important. And clouds of black, acrid smoke from burning rubber seems appropriate too. So the MOC is 90% done, and I'm happy with how it came out. It really just needs figs and a few little details. I'll finish it off, take pics and post them when I get a chance. Oh, and I couldn't fit it in to 16x16, it's shot out to 32x16, so if I could be allocated a new patch please . . . Ben -
Very cool improvements. I love the lawnmower and the drinking fountain, both very cleverly built.

How much is your collection worth?
harrysnapperorgans replied to Derek's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I would say around $1500 New Zealand dollars, a very small collection I know. However Lego is only my secondary hobby, I have around $20,000 tied up in music gear. -
nice work. I'm working on a practical, music related MOC myself . . .

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
harrysnapperorgans replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
It's certainly not Toyworld. Just near the foodcourt in the mall. However, it may be run by Toyworld as a temporary location in the christmas period? It was closed when I saw it, so I couldn't ask to find out more.
