Hello All. Just for the record : Lego customer service accepted to replace the two defective remotes for free : no more problems. I have to send back the faulty remotes for analyses.
-
Hello all, I own three 8879 PF remotes since 2010, and two of them seems to be malfunctioning now. The problem : When I turn the orange wheel by one click, the train goes forward (normal) and if I add one or two more clicks in the same direction the train stops or goes backward (instead of accelerating). This is getting really annoying : the trains are getting uncontrollable At this time I have tried with no luck to : - Change batteries in remotes. - Open the remote and clean it inside : nothing appears to be broken or worn out on the electric contact area... My third remote operates perfectly... Is their a known solution for this problem ?

How to power 28 motors?
jojo60 replied to coen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is a big project. Have you already tested your tracks ? I am curious to see how it turns : I fear the tracks could derail easily as they are very long with only a few guidance. -
This topic makes me think LEGO is a very strong addiction. I have a fun room mostly dedicated to LEGO in my house (16 square meters) : It is my limit, no more space is allowed. I "Only" have 170 sets and I already think it is to much, I only keep the sets I really like : the others are sold time to time (on ebay for example). I prefer buying lots of old parts for mocing : This way I have no regret breaking a set. I am surprised no-one talk about dust...

8043 with claw
jojo60 replied to imajor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This looks like a good MOD of this 8043. I've got this set MISB since Christmas : You just make me want to open that box and build that excavator ;) Thank you ! -
Thank you for this interesting the review. To bad this set is no more available in France at the moment !

My layout is now on a table... Yesterday I encountered my first train disaster : 6 cars and my 7939 engine felt down on the floor. Casualties : 2 bogie-plates broken (the pin was ripped off) and engine baseplate hollow stud damaged... It never happened when the layout was on the ground I need to build some kind of guard around the corners... any idea ? Anyway I still prefer to have the layout on the table : everything looks better from eye level.

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
jojo60 replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's almost what I Think, Maersk is not Disney (TS3), or LucasFilms (StarWars)...- 379 replies

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)
jojo60 replied to paul_delahaye's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice looking set. Nevertheless comparing it to 7939 Cargo Train : no track, no PFS(?), no crane. How much for the Maersk License ? I hope it will be less than 100€ (90€), and in the same price range as 10194.- 379 replies

Hello, This is my first train modification. I have bought 7597 only as a base for moc. It is based on a mixture between Emerald night and TS3 train. I am mostly interested in Technic and Mindstorms so I had to find extra components in my bin : XL motor, PF receiver, and (to big) battery box. The drive train copied from the instructions of the "Emerald Night" is incredibly powerful : it can haul all the cars I own without a problem (7597 + 7939 +7938 = 8cars) The cars were also lowered to make them minifig compatible (woody is to tall for my taste...) I have just bought a second 7597 to make it better with a tender and bigger cars (maybe with bogies)so more mods are to come soon. http://img844.imageshack.us/i/dsc7970.jpg http://img828.imageshack.us/i/dsc7971.jpg See you Jojo60

Should Lego change the way they sell Track ?
jojo60 replied to The Yellow Brick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think TLG has already changed the way they sell tracks : 7896 seems discontinued since this winter ... Nevertheless how will I buy curved tracks ? Is 7499 the only choice ? to me it is even worse... I already have enough of those flexi-tracks with my cargo train... -
Good idea. Maybe it would be a smaller solution to use the PF switch that can be found in set 8297 (I've got one spare...).

I'm interested in a second PF motor for cargo train 7939. I wonder how to make de 2 motors run in the same direction : you have to make the power cable passing into the chassis hole in the middle of the the engine, so the motors will be inverted... is there a trick to revert one motor ?
