  1. Still very humbled by the number of you commenting and your praise
  2. Thank you all, for taking the time to comment and the kind words, glad the setting works for all - especially those of you like Masseditor / Titus whom I regularly check on on flickr, very humbling that you took the time to give feedback
  3. Thanks for the kind words all, glad the setting works for you guys as well. With regards to a "build picture"... Here's a sad story. Was photographing in the room, went to the computer to make sure the pics turned out ok. Went back in the dark room, lights were off, promptly sat on the build that was on my chair I was using to photograph as I was reaching out to turn on the desk lamp. The base of the moc's fine, and tree (and my bum) not so much. Will probably rebuild it this weekend though, and post a clearer picture.

    An island with no name.

Well... white bricks. Plenty of white bricks. Oh and some yellowing ones too

    An island with no name.

I've been a bit slack in responding, but thank you all for your kind words - as mentioned my first "islandy piratey" build, so it's nice to know it works for everyone else too :)
  8. Stories tell of an imperial ship transporting an infamous pirate to trial that ran into a freak storm and was wrecked. In a twist of fate, all hands were lost, save their prisoner. Rising from the depths of the wreck like the devil himself, he frightened the wits out of two fishermen who had come to investigate. Forcing them to help remove his treasure from the ship and bury it, he then slaughtered them and escaped in their boat. As the years passed, the tale faded from memory and other settlers took up residence on the island. Still, ever so often drunken sailors in dim taverns would ramble on about finding the map that would lead them to eternal riches… https://flic.kr/p/Rz5Ghb A few more pictures from different angles on my flickr account - please feel free to view them (https://www.flickr.com/gp/92675222@N06/u00010). C&Cs very much welcome of course, my first "islandy" build. Very much inspired by the many great builds and builders here on Eurobricks :)
  9. Woohoo! Big thanks to Kwatchi for organizing this great minichallenge - got me off my bum to start building for BoBs again. Congrats to all other winners too, and everyone else who was part of it.
  10. Not too late am I? The Painted Ladies of Charlatan Bay.
  11. You could sail to any port in the seven seas and you'd find them... in alleyways, and taverns..., Always eager to help relieve lonely sailors of their tensions and sorrows. And money of course. But while many of these ladies of the night were impoverished commoners with little other choice, a select few worked for a greater organization. Drunk (and happy) men had loose tongues, and these painted ladies were always keeping their ears (amongst other things) open for the juiciest morsels of information. All of these went back to through a complex network to the one they called "The Mistress". No one knew what she really looked like under the mask, no one knew much about her, nor where she'd come from, but everyone knew that if you needed to find something out, she was the one who could help you - for a price. Anything from the painted ladies did not come cheap. It's been awhile since I've posted anything, life's been busy. Easing my way back into BoBs, and thought a figbarf was a good way to start. Thanks for organizing it Kwatchi and gang!
  12. These guys need to join us Sea rats. If our guys are not doing this, they're not Sea Rat-ing right
  13. Huzzuh! Thank you. I shall stop clogging up this thread now and go figure out if I survived that blasted hurricane. I did 2 free builds
