  1. The Toys R Us that I work at (in West Michigan) just got them in today. I will probably wait until the next BOGO sale to buy mine, but my coworker just texted me a picture of his new Medusa =]

    MOC: Insect Collection!

That is just the coolest thing! My favorite is definitely the millipede =]

    Howdy

    Welcome! =]
  4. At the Toys R Us that I work at in West Michigan we just sold out of our CMs. We started out with 4 boxes around the middle or maybe the end of January, and were down to one last week, and then there were none left this weekend. I would assume we would be getting more in at some point, as it feels like they just came out? There are still plenty at all the Meijers I check though, which is good because I still need a Gypsy and a Roman dude, and maybe a Plumber.

    Hi, I'm Kim

Thank you for the welcome! I thought I would give a more detailed intro since I'm not quite the typical Lego enthusiast I've mostly been reading and soaking up information, there is so much to read! I really had no idea there was this much to read and explore within the Lego community. I am so excited to dig through my childhood Lego, I imagine I'm going to spend a whole day sorting. And then once I drag some of those out to my apartment I can start building some little vignettes for my minifigs.

    Hi, I'm Kim

Nice to meet everyone My name is Kim and I am 23, a college graduate with an art degree, and currently working at a library and a Toys R Us... which is kind of how this started. I'm mainly a doll collector, but I have a love and appreciation for miniatures in general, which is why I think I'm being sucked back into Lego. I played with my little brother's Lego with him growing up but I didn't have many sets of my own, and I'm thinking I may remedy that as an adult. My first adult Lego purchase was last November when I decided to get my kind-of ex-boyfriend the Millennium Falcon for Christmas. I waited for several TRU sales to align so I could get a really good deal on it. The rest of the holiday season I was so proud of myself for resisting temptation and hardly buying any toys for myself. Working at a Toys R Us is rough for someone with a thing for miniatures... pretty much everything is little and cute, and you find yourself wanting nearly everything for no reason. Anyways, I was doing so good, until I started paying attention to the minifigures... It started with one guy in a chicken suit... my co-worker is a master at feeling up the minifigure bags, and when he found the chicken suit guy I couldn't resist. I've always liked mermaids, so I knew that one was coming home at some point. Pretty soon I ended up with a cute little group hanging out on my windowsill, Exhibit A: Fortunately, or unfortunately for my doll collecting funds, Toys R Us had a buy one get one 50% off Lego sale this week that included minifigs... aaand now I have 13 somehow... Finding a Target that still had a ton of series 8 minifigs didn't help either (No updated group picture just yet) I'm finding this to be very addicting. I am now a master bag-fondler, to the point where I'm man handling bags for customers at Toys R Us who are looking for certain minifigs. I started out just collecting my favorites out of the series, but now I'm finding reasons to add all of them to my collection, with the justifications being 'oh and I could use that piece/hair/head for this future project/scene,' which I'm sure can't be a good sign... My brother still has all of our old Lego sets mashed up in your typical giant-tub-o-Lego, so I'm planning a visit to my parent's house on the other side of the state to do a dig through that. I remember having a lot of Indians and teepees, some pirates, a rowboat, tree stumps, dragons, some skeletons and horses, so I'm pretty excited for that. And here are some more pictures for funsies. In-progress pictures of the Falcon. I was the photographer and the official sticker-put-on-er. And I think that's about it... oh and as for my favorite theme, I'm finding myself really drawn to the Monster Fighters, though from what I'm gathering that one seems to be on its way out? Though that might be good for my poor little bank account. -Kim
