    [MOC] Prototype Tank (Generation Zero)

Codename: Stridsmaskin 90 "Resen" The 2nd most heavily armored and armed of the machines, the Tank towers over houses and players alike, shaking the very ground with each step. Do not engage it without a strategy, plan your encounter in advance, and always be ready to run when the rockets start flying. The reference images are under the spoiler:
  2. Codename: Jaktmaskin 60 "Ulven" Intelligent, swift, and silent, the Hunter attacks with lethal precision, showcasing a diverse range of tactics and weaponry to take down survivors of the uprising. They use LMGs and Rocket Launchers at a distance and their deadly bladed right arm in close combat. — Generation Zero Wiki And here's another Generation Zero build! I am proud of the result! The reference images are under the spoiler:
  3. I've been in love with Generation Zero, Avalanche Studios' first person, co-operative shooter about teens in 1980s Sweden surviving a robot invasion. It has a very distinct art style, not unlike that of the famous Swedish sci-fi artist Simon Stahlenhag. I feel like there were some tensions between him and Generation Zero's Devs, but don't quote me on this. The Runner is - hopefully - the first in a line of GenZ-inspired MOCs, and also my first finished MOC of 2022. Procrastination have been wearing hard on me for the past few years, so I welcome any kind of positive change! The reference images are under Spoiler:

Divine Knight Valimar (Commission, Trails of Cold Steel)

Thank you kindly! I am very proud of that pose myself hahah! Stud.Io in my experience is much better at posing mocs compared to LDD, which I still use to build my works.
  5. This is a commission for a client. Valimar is a mechanical knight from a tactical JRPG series Trials of Cold Steel, his signature weapon is a sword named Tachi. This is Valimar's in-game model that have been provided by the client as a reference: I also tried my hand at rendering the MOC in Blender for this one:

Daym y'all have been busy. xD

I feel like we can achieve both goals here. The instructions for installation should be updated a little to reduce confusion.

Hi! A friend of mine that doesn't have an EB account have run into a problem installing the latest parts. The problem came from them being not very computer-wise and the fact that the archive on Dropbox is called "Primitives" which leads to confusion for a person who would not think to look into the archive to figure out what's inside. I propose to rename the archive into "LEGO Digital Designer" to avoid similar confusion in the future.

    Two Old Rivals

What began as a conflict over the transfer of consciousness from flesh to machines escalated into a war which has decimated a million worlds. The Core and the Arm have all but exhausted the resources of a galaxy in their struggle for domination. Both sides now crippled beyond repair, the remnants of their armies continue to battle on ravaged planets, their hatred fueled by over four thousand years of total war. This is a fight to the death. For each side, the only acceptable outcome is the complete elimination of the other. Soo, anyone recognizes the quote? For those who aren't, it has been narrated in the intro of Total Annihilation, one of the greatest strategies of the past. I was inspired by this kickstarter because people are making a direct successor of TA, so decided to make Arm and Core commanders. Spent lot of time on those guys. [Software] LDD2PovRay

Or we can share the .obj files with the Stud.Io developers so they can add them in officially?

    [Software] LDD2PovRay

You either learn to deal with it, or you do not.

The converter works directly with LDD's DB outputting a list of OBJ files. You still need to manually import the missing OBJ via Part Designer (and adding connectivity data) and replace those that become question boxes in Stud.Io, so it's not the perfect solution, but it's a robust workaround.

    [Software] LDD2PovRay

@Calabar Yeah makes sense! Well, I've been using @jamesster's G to OBJ converter to export the LDD parts that are not in Stud.Io into studio. It works with any part that is in the db.

    [Software] LDD2PovRay

It has an entire tool dedicated to user-created parts. How does it not work with those?

Why not use Stud.Io? It's free.

If it does need LDraw library, no wonder it gives you an error; since the custom parts are not included.

As a final precaution check if the .lif file is read-only and if it is, uncheck it. Also, remove the db folder if you have it in the folder. Also, isn't LDD 2 POV-Ray needs a LDraw library to properly function? In any case, @BrokenEye you can still build in LDD and import LDD files into Stud.Io and use its internal renderer for high-quality images. That's how I do it at least.

    Two Old Rivals

Sure! By the way, I have since revamped my ARM Commander: Aw that's awesome! Looking forward to see what you two can come up with next! Feel free to send me a Direct Message with any further renders you'd come up with!

    Custom LDD bricks and fixes

Hmm yeah. But also, your screenshot shows it 1 plate lower than intended. Seem to barely fit there. I wonder if anyone can check this connection IRL for me. Alternatively I can use 1 x 1 upward brackets probably, because those have smoothed corners. EDIT: I asked a few friends to check it out and it actually works IRL with negligible amount of part strain:

It's pretty complicated for some reason. Here's a demonstration: Also I'd like to know if the "db" folder is the only thing that contains the new part files. As in, can I just archive the entire thing and send it to someone who doesn't have the db.lif unpacked?

So 44358 Cylinder Hemisphere 3 x 3 Ball Turret Socket with 2 x 2 Base has this weird collision issue where it allows to attach a 99780  Bracket 1 x 2 - 1 x 2 Inverted only from one side, but not from the other.

So, that includes hollow studs. right? So jumpers, in theory, can be attached to a technic pin hole? I am asking because there's apparently a lot of that connectivity missing for multiple bricks with pin holes.

Question to the knowing: are stud to technic pin hole connections considered legal or not?
