    MOC (Architecture): Opéra de Lyon

Thanks for your comment! You're right about the section between the two rows of columns being a little too thick: problem is that the section above the upper row is structural, since it keeps the whole roof in place, and I couldn't make it any thinner. For the sake of keeping the visual balance of the building I decided to make the lower section in the same way and, as a result, the whole thing is a little "stockier" than the original. Btw, as I was talking about reverse-engineering other people's MOCs...my first successfull attempt was your Metlife Building! Great model and I had a lot of fun trying to understand how you had done it!
  2. operapost by Riccardo Prosperi, on Flickr This is the first MOC I've ever built from scratch, having previosly just dabbled in reverse-engineering other people's creations... Here's a link to the real building: Opera Nouvel Unfortunately I couldn't find a way to replicate the small arches at this scale, but I think the model gives a fair general impression of the Opera House. I'm eager to hear your comments, critiques and advices!

    MOC: Minifig Sculpture

Awesome! I love the lapels and waistcoat details!
  4. Villa Savoye looks like an absolute must-buy. It seems like Lego is setting the foundations of a (sort of) "modern Villa" sub-theme, after having released Falling Water, the Farnsworth House set and with this last forthcoming model. I'd like to see this line going on with Alvar Aalto's Villa Mairea...It would be nice, wouldn't it? I also wonder why they don't release any set inspired by the works of living architects: legal rights issues, maybe?

    MOD/MOC: Big Ben extension

Extremely well done. The setting provides the flavour the original set lacks.

    Hi! Ciao! Heippa!

I've already tried in this way, but it doesn't allow me to post BBcodes and the likes until I reach 5 post. Oh well, two and counting...

    Hi! Ciao! Heippa!

Hi everyone and greetings from Genoa, Italy! I've just registered on this great forum after some months of lurking! I've been drawn back into the Lego world thanks to the Architecture line...As soon as I laid my eyes on the Falling Water set I knew I had been hooked! Right now I'm testing my hand at creating architecture MOCs, mostly microscale size, and I hope to share my creations with you as soon as possible (or at least, as soon as I'll get rid of the URL posting limitation! )!
