Back for Round 2! It's been a while..

Thanks for the replies guys :) I'm just waiting to finish work for the week, then at the weekend I'll post some pictures of my latest purchases
  2. Hi everyone! It's been 6 years since I last visited this amazing Lego site and after resetting my forgotten password, I am now back for the second time round! My name is Aaron and I last posted here in 2008. Back then I really rediscovered my lost childhood love of Lego, and I fell back in love with the shiny little plastic bricks hard! Unfortunately, after a good few months of posting on here and building various unfinished projects, I slowly started to lose interest and once those magical little bricks were tidied away, they have stayed there ever since. I am now living in my own flat with my (ever so understanding) girlfriend, but my countless boxes of Lego are still stored at my parents house (though not for long I'm sure ). Recently I found myself itching to have another go at it. I have just purchased a few bargain sealed Lego City sets from the last few years and should be building them within the next few days (around the daily work grind ). Fun builds with lots of pieces, such as the 4439 Police Heavy-Lift Helicopter for £20.00 and I've just picked up the 4436 Police Patrol Car for only £5.00. Looking at the latest sets, It's amazing how intricate the designs are now, with so many new parts and building techniques implemented. I did find it quite difficult to go through with it and spend my hard earned money, on what most people think as children's small plastic building blocks. But I like to think that by having such a massive interest in Lego as a child, it helped me become who I am today in adult life. I am a very hands on person who is always interested in how things are made and how they work. I do moan a little at how expensive Lego is these days, but I am surprised at how the quality of current Lego products is still so high! I would much rather them keep their quality high, than cut corners or cheapen the bricks. So I understand that for this reason, the prices have to increase with today's economical climate. I am in need for an enjoyable hobby, one where I can really stretch my now dwindling adult imagination. Maybe a hobby that lets you just escape this harsh world you slowly discover as you get older. I have now chosen to buy some Lego, to rediscover some of that enjoyment and imagination I had as a kid. I also hope to interact with other Adult Fans of Lego on these forums, it's been a while since I participated in any social forums online but I know how much fun they can be and especially this one. So I hope to have a good old chat with you lovely people, Lego is an amazing system indeed and it's nice that we can all share our enjoyment of it with others here at the Eurobricks forums. Thank you

Pillage the Village Voting - SMALL Division

1st vote - 28. 74louloute - When I grow up, I wanna be a pirate... 2nd vote - 22. LegoJoe 3rd vote - 26. Guss - Mickael the cruel 74louloute just had to get my first vote for originality. Really liked the contrast of it being all calm on the bottom of the moc then the chase on the top and the design of the bed. Second vote went for LegoJoe's entry. Pretty funny and also really nicely detailed. I like how he captured the damp and dinginess of the sewer below and the cleanliness above. My final third vote went to Guss's entry. I liked the detail that went into the blood running down the headless body using a red arm and hand. Also like the horror captured on the figs faces.

    Loft archeology

Yeah Bricklink is the best place, its basically a marketplace were you can sell and buy various bits of lego from peoples shops for a set price. People sell stuff everywhere in the world and it has a feedback system so you can see how others have found their service. For payment the easiest way is paypal, almost everybody accepts it and the seller will email you with their details once your order has been verified. You can also pay by check or credit card though i have not ever tried these options but it shouldn't be too much hassle. If you need anymore help on it just PM me, I'm not exactly an expert on it but I've bought enough stuff from the UK and the US to know my way around the good shops.

    Review: 10188 Death Star

Wow great review. I didn't realise how much detail there was in this set, i love the way the escape hole leads down the trash shoot into the trash compactor. Could you maybe take a pic of how it works or just the shoot going down? Also you didnt mention the Swooshability of the set? lol Is it pretty sturdy on its base though? or is it fragile? keep up the great reviews!

REVIEW: 6739 Truck & Stunt Trikes

Good review, i really like the truck and the chrome bit on the front. The trailer would have been better if it was made of various bricks instead of the one big ugly piece. That way they could have also made it more detailed but then i guess the set would cost more due to the added pieces.

    Star Wars Review Index Vote

New look for me, i don't know why anyone wouldn't want the pictures there. I mean there not massive and it just makes it easier looking for a certain set without having to read all the names.

Could someone help me out with this piece please?

Well I'm pretty sure it will be fine and i haven't really got any other options as there isn't another suitable windscreen piece. They're not much from BrickLink but i just spent £50 on various bricks for this thing on another order but i will probably wait till that gets here first then leave myself room for the windscreens last.
