  1. Hello all: I have been recently emerging from a second "dark age". I am extremely excited to see Mr. Gale bringing these excellent products to market. The chance to run a true DCC train will be fantastic. I for one- can't wait to see the power bogies come out and to see how they will integrate with DCC decoders and speakers. Running sound on model trains really brings them to life. Thank you Mr. Gale - I am waiting any new scraps of news! Steve.

    My GP 38-2

The battery pack is actually 2 studs wide by about 2.5 bricks tall. It looks like this: Google battery holder 6 AA and you will find them for sale. I took 1/2 a PF extension cord and soldered it to the press-fit connector that you see here with a switch inline as well. Cheers Steve.

    My GP 38-2

Hello all: I thought I would share my take on the GP 38-2. Many people have made one and mine is fairly derivative. I spend some time looking at Swoofty's and Kai's when I made it and you can definitely see their influence. It has a power functions motor and a custom battery pack and switch. It's a good hauler due to the weight provided by the 6 AA batteries. The stickers came from JopieK. Thanks much. More pictures here: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=550547 Cheers, Steve.
  4. Any chance of a smaller form factor?
  5. Spotted this on Brickset this morning, look at the set on the bottom left: http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3831/11248525064_fbd82c71e7_c.jpg

    My Layout Update Nov 2013

Hello Lazarus: Great looking layout. I can't wait to see what happens next! Could you describe more how you motorized your points/turnouts? I understand if might involve some non-Lego parts and I'm Ok with that but I would love to see the inside of the switch boxes. Thanks much, Steve

    Decals for MOC Trains

Hello all: I have used Microscale decals a bit and they do look great and there are many different types available. A brief word of caution is that they are a bit fragile. If the MOC is being used be a careful adult I could see them lasting a long time however my trains are played with by a few kids and they didn't last very long until they began to chip. Now I cover them with a piece of transparent cellophane tape which protects them. It's nearly invisible most of the time. Just my 2 cents. Cheers, Steve.

    Train automation - upgrading PF

Hello: I have been interested in trying to implement additional and better functions into Lego trains. I am not an electronics engineers but here are features that I would love to see: 1. Sound, sound, sound. A couple basic diesel prime movers and a steamer would be amazing. 2. additional speed control, especially slow speed control. 3. More channels. Let me know when we can buy one! :) Cheers ,Steve.

Black Hand Rails on Maersk and BNSF trains

Hello: I wonder if you are looking at the right part. on Bricklink you want to look for "hose, rigid 3m" It comes in different lengths. You can always buy a longer length and cut it down. If you check the different lengths/colors you can usually find something that will work for not too much. I saw lots of black 29L for less than 2 USD available. Maybe that helps or maybe I don't understand. Cheers, Steve.
  10. Hello JopieK: Any progress on getting these stickers for sale? :) Thanks, Steve.

    Moc: Track incline to bridge

Hello: I think that looks great. If you are only going up one plate per track section you should be fine. I have had trouble getting my trains to go up 2 plates per track section, even with a transition area. Any tips are always appreciated! Cheers, Steve.
  12. Hi JopieK: Thanks for showing us this prototype. Two questions: 1. When will you have it for sale? Maybe we can pre-preorder to get them sooner? 2. Were you able to do the die cut around the circle fan sticker? Thanks much! Steve.

    Layout: Toffee Mountain Railway

Greetings: Thanks for sharing this. I always really like to see what other people are doing layout wise. A couple quick questions if you get a chance: 1. It looks like you have or want to have a turntable. How does that work? 2. How about a pic of your rolling stock? I'm especially interested in what looks like a yellow train engine. Thanks, Steve.

MOC: NSB 7a 11 - with Light, Sound & Smoke

Sir: Thank you for sharing this great creation. Would you be able to add further details about how you added sound? I have tried to look into that a bit but I thought that the voltage might ultimately be too low. Thanks much, Steve.
  15. Hello: I saw this picture from a Portland train show and I would really like to see more images of the container train that's third from the left. It's carrying blue Hanjin containers. Does anyone know the builder or where better and more pictures can be found? Thanks much, Steve. Link to Flickr picture is HERE
