  1. Ninjago magazine is published in the UK by Immediate Media, who sadly seem a lot less interested in promoting their Lego products than their German counterparts are. Issues come out on Wednesdays, generally once every 4 or 5 weeks. The current issue (27, with the Hands of Time version of Cole) is dated 26th July to 29th August. Does that cover everything you wanted to know? (And no, I wouldn't have seen this question any time soon if it'd been in the main Ninjago discussion thread!)
  2. Tempted as I was to vote for Lloyd Garmadon just for that bowl, I've gone with Pyjamas (Volcano) Garmadon. I still dream of one day getting Dressing Gown Garmadon from the tv show; this may be as close as we get. Still...

Normal Jestro, human Monstrox, Roberto, the Classic Space shield.... why do you not want us to have these things, Lego? Whyyyyy? Even x105Black seems interested in some of these! Why do we keep getting endless Clay variants? *sob* The Brickset article says he has a "swappable infected stone face", so it might be possible to at least make Clay look a bit more like he does in Robert8's picture. Still seems a wasted opportunity though. I didn't care for that at all in the Book of Knights. The description on Amazon does mention space for storing Nexo Powers, so I'm hoping that this'll be more like the Ninjago versions, but with the cardboard section that holds the figure designed to work as storage. I can see that actually being quite useful. I'd love to get some of these too! Bricksters just haven't had the same appeal for me.

It's probably worth pointing out that despite what many of us may think of when we hear the term, "necromancer" doesn't necessarily imply a practitioner of magic that involves the dead. It can also be used as simply another term for a magic user (though usually an evil one.) Granted what we've learned of Monstrox thus far, it's entirely possible the show's creators intended the latter meaning. That isn't to say we won't see an undead army, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if we don't. (If we do get more undead in this theme or any other, I think I'd prefer something like cloaked or armoured wraiths - ideally ones that can stand in for ringwraiths and dementors. It'd be nice to have some more of those.)

Series 2 is already out, in some parts of the world at least. Set number is 70373.

I did. ;) I'm hoping it'll eventually turn up in a regular set, myself. Getting hold of some of the existing powers from blind bags seems pretty tricky (at least within the UK), I can only dread to imagine how hard it'd be to get the Classic Space one if it only had a blind release.

Ooh, I was hoping for black and trans-green monsters next! (Specifically trans-light green, but trans-green should be good too.) The names do have me a little worried though, as I'm not a great fan of bug-themed monsters (or zombies. I'm sick of zombies.) The monsters have always been my favourite part of the Nexo line, and I've appreciated that they've been fairly... generic? sorts of monsters, with something of dangerous-bits-of-nature theme. Maybe they'll actually be some sort of plant/poison/slime/swamp monsters? It is early days of course, and it's very easy to read far, far too much into the limited information that we have. All sorts of things are still possible. Twinfector might actually be something that creates monstrous evil twins of good guys/monsters (we might even get the likes of General Magmar back, in black and green!) Or it could carry some advanced weaponised version of the Snottingham cold that isn't so easily cured. Or, it could turn out the story for next year sees Merlock 2.0 catch a strange computer virus which the Knights contract upon downloading Nexo powers from him, resulting in them all becoming evil, and leaving Jestro, Monstrox, Ava and Robin to save everyone. ;) That was my assumption - sounds like they may be making things even more orange next year. I'd rather have seen less orange, myself - always seemed one of the weak points of the good guy sets to me. I was amused by them too... but I'm not actually the only castle fan who also likes NK, surely?

That was my first thought on seeing it, too! I'll be very disappointed if they end Nexo Knights before we get a physical release of that shield (or a cuddly Cloud of Monstrox!)

[MOC] Sword (or axe) & Sorcery

I have Conan music in my head now. Excellent use of parts to really capture the pulp fantasy feeling, and great posing of the figures. Any plans for more little sword and sorcery scenes like this?

These are great! I think the tree speeder makes for a particularly nice fusion of sci-fi and fantasy.

    LEGO Elves 2017 Discussion

Saw the new edition of Elves magazine on sale today in the UK, if anyone's still interested in that. The next issue (with Hidee) was listed in the back as being out August 16th. Looking over the other summer sets, I found myself very impressed with the use of colour on Eclipso's Dark Palace from the DC line, and felt a little sad Ragana's Castle wasn't a bit more like this. Eclipso herself looks like she might fit in reasonably well with Elves (perhaps with one of those Skyra hairpieces the Nexo Knights harpies are getting?), so I could be tempted to pick her up at some point if she's not going for an absolute fortune. She could be friends with the Shadow Servant (who I agree looks fantastic!) :)

But there aren't any that remind me of the babe! Agreed - or better yet, a proper Jareth minifig/doll. Do we have an actual date for the summer sets yet?

Is it just my imagination, or is Garmadon's lower torso piece slightly longer than standard, or perhaps attached to a new piece that fits between it and his legs? I find myself reminded of the film "Up." Oooh. May I ask what "Geheim Dagboek" translates as? (My dutch is only good enough to translate the other title. ;) )

I'd also love to get Roberto in a set, and some of these others too. I find it odd we've not had any stone scurriers in sets... seems they decided to replace them with the bricksters, which personally I find a lot less appealing. As far as Roguls are concerned, it shouldn't be too hard to get both variants if we did get one in another set. A hooded Rogul with a mask printed on one side of its head would give the Collapsing Crumble look; a purple helmet could be included with another stone monster in the set and switched in to create Ravaging Rot, using either another print on the other side of the Rogul's head, or the head from the current Rogul. It also seems a shame that we're only getting five of the Forbidden Powers - I realise we're never going to get all twenty, but it'd have been nice if they'd added at least one or two more so we could fill all the spaces in the crown of the Colossus (and ideally have one left for Jestro to keep in the staff). I think we're looking at Malicious Melting being in three sets now, and each of the other powers in two. Guess I'll have to learn how to make decent stickers.

MOC: The Order of the Stick

Great stuff. Should we consider this The Order of the Brick? Hope you'll do something else along these lines at some point - I can't help but feel Thog would very much like to be represented in Lego.
