  1. looks like a awesome set, but the motorized parts are a bit dissapointing. Same with the steering. Does seem to be a excellent set to gain parts rapidly though. Noticed in the Netherlands there is a store already selling these, even for less then some reviews suggesting! 199,99 Euro http://www.bartsmit.com/lego-technic-mobiele-kraan-mk-ii-42009
  2. I noticed that this very truck is already up for sale in the Netherlands at the 'Bart Smit' store for 119,99 Euro http://www.bartsmit.com/lego-technic-sleeptruck-42008
  3. Space to store it is available, I'm living on my own, no wife that complains about the LEGO purchases or not getting enough attention etc. so thats a big plus I guess Got big storage boxes for large parts, sorting boxes for smal parts and even all minifigs are sorted on theme. More parts is always a welcome thing, you usually run out of a specific brick or just find yourself missing the brick in your collection. So it is always good to update and buy sets. NEWS: Requested my money yesterday and it is already on my bank account, so ill be buying the required sets as planned tomorrow!
  4. To much on my mind! So much to do and so little time! :S

  5. The sets I would need anyways to gain more parts, I do not have that much TECHNIC LEGO currently so it would be still a nice addition and more breathing space for making models. Bricklink I can not buy from because of some personal financial problems, I have a heavy form of autism and felt it would be saver to let others take care of my financial stuff. Disadvantage is that I won't be allowed to buy things online unless I can use a pre-paid card. So Bricklink is unfortunately offlimits for me at this time. The gears used were just to get a quick picture of what the idea should be, actually did not even think out the gearbox part of this system. It was already 5AM and did not sleep yet, so it will be worked out more for sure Thought large motors were already released in set 9398, the 4X4 Crawler. It should have 2 of those. I seen the videos and pictures on that tank! It was one of the inspirations to do something similar indeed! So thank you for that! I will however be using a different suspension set which has a real springs attached. For the gun, I think ill be going with a pretty short barrel making it more stable in general. But I was indeed trying to take that wobble part out as much as I could. A alternate turret system would have been like the Gepard or double gattling guns like the Gattling tank from Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge Also I been hearing someone mention the current system might be to wide for a turret, this would be no problem I suspect since the German WW2 Panzer II had also a offset turret. With pretty much rapid fire aswell. Luckaly I will not attempt to create a real tank like you which gives me space to change things as I go along. First part of the project is mainly thinking up solutions that I can create with the current bricks that I do have. Which also answers (again) TwentyLeggedHen's question, I simply need more sets to gain more bricks and specially the engine parts. Currently I own 2 XL-motors & 4 M-motors, I still need the L-motors and servo's. Luckaly I just got a e-mail that my request for 300 euro is on it's way, so I will be able to buy ALL sets mentioned!
  6. I had a quick idea how to solve my problems with a RC TECHNIC Tank project, as some of you might remember, I was working on a tank project a while back, but unfortunately I could not work on it anymore until now. So restarting it and buying new sets soon to get my ideas further. 180 degree turret spin Track suspension + XL motor for each track Lights for front and rear sides! Powered barrel up/down Barrel recoil system The last in that list is what I now made a quick LDRAW model for, so I could later check out if it indeed would work etc. Yes I know, the gearbox part is probably no good, but it's just to show a rough idea how to get this barrel system working. Later on ill be testing this in real life and see if it indeed will work as planned. It will however be a test without servo since I do not have one but with medium motor instead. Photo's and updates will be posted of course! https://pbs.twimg.co...Ao_Ux.png:large Set I still need to buy to make my project work: 42006, 8879, 8293, 9398. With a little luck this weekend, other wise ill be saving up until I can buy them. Have a suggestion? Please do post! Can always use the help! Comments are also ofcourse welcomed!
  7. First time for the dentist, then ill check your suggestions out! Thanks for the suggestions!
  8. This project is indeed in very early stages, I first want to finish the chassis to perfection. Or at least close enough to that. But tracks on a bigger vehicle (such as a big tank) need the XL motors, since the M motors will not be able to do much. You can try to make a smaller tank which can use the M motors Making the engine in 'reverse' does not matter, or should not at least. It just does the same thing otherway around, thats all. For shock absorbers, unfortunately I don't have enough of those at this time. I did buy some rubberbands, which are just a little bigger then the official LEGO rubberbands. So I should be able to do something with that. I also working on full design with turret, but thats far later in the project. My project is not for a competition though, but perhaps later on when it's nearly done!

What date (time period) do you set your pirates in?

I never bothered with dates, I just place them within the theme. thats all
  10. Ok thanks for that link! Will look into that after I get back from buying some food!
  11. Which ones are those? Have a picture for me please?

Why the Pirates theme disappeared in 1998?

I been hearing that LEGO thought there were to few sales for the Pirate theme. But also because LEGO California took over, who liked more the US related themes. Exploring other themes was nothing more then a excuse in general to say 'we, LEGO California, don't like the theme so we closing it down'. The current theme will dissapear again and unknown when it will be back. Pirates of the Carabian isn't the regular theme. Likely the next will be Pirates vs. Bluecoats though.
  13. @DLuders: Oh thanks for that tip! Sure will look for that! Should likely solve the problem! lol. However, bad side is that the tracks will become shorter then. So i likely need to redesign/rethink things to get it working properly. @timr: I was actually thinging that as well. However, they do need to be raised up else they will likely hit the ground or get the tank stuck on something else. So i may need to figure out how to solve that little problem. @88high: I tried to get in suspension but couldn't figure that one out. Besides that, I have the problem that I do not have enough rubber bands to cover each wheel either. So I guess I'm stuck with this for the moment. I need to get out to get some food anyways, I may just as well look around for rubber bands in stores. Perhaps I find something usefull there! @Porty: Good luck with your project! I been thinking to completely start all over again, since there are multiple problems with the current design. - tracks that refuse to go in a straight line - tank is a bit narrow for it's length - I'm not satisfied with the batterybox location - engines may need to move a little - possible to add suspension gear 9if I can find the right bricks and rubber bands) But let me know what you guys and girls think. Perhaps some help or suggestions to get it back on track? Sets owned that may be a solution: 8265 - Front loader (not ripped apart yet) 8275 - Motorized Bulldozer (ripped apart) 8043 - Excavator (ripped apart) 8284 - Dune Buggy or Tractor (ripped apart) 8285 - Tow Truck (untouched still) 8448 - Super Convertible (untouched still)
  14. I have Asperger Syndrome + ADHD, i may be able to use both hands, but my brain tends to wander off from time to time making it harder to actually create something! So I do know in a way what you must be experiencing.
  15. Finally had the time to start on my personal LEGO project, and this was planned in real LEGO instead of MLCAD version! To start out it should show that I am capable of doing much with not much LEGO at all. Many take me for granted and don't think I can actually do much, the truth is however that I don't have the space to sit down and use my LEGO as I want to. But also the lack of actually owning the right bricks and right ammount is the problem as well. Now I want to finally realize my ideas for making a tank that is working on multiple areas. Due to not owning the right things before, I couldn't do much in this. But now I can actually do something. I warn everyone that my model will NOT be in color theme since I don't have that much LEGO in real life. So please don't state the obvious, just focus on the model itself! The Idea The general idea is to have a RC tank created from LEGO as the title suggests! But besides the obvious, there is more to the project then just another MOC! - RC controlled Tracks (WORKING!) - RC controlled Turret (not created yet) - RC controlled barrel (not created yet) - possible other RC controlled features! Yes it is simple, but we all had to start somewhere! Besides, my model has space enough to expand later on! One of the very first photo's! Links MOC Pages Link Brickshelf Link (when active)
