The other vehicles aren't all exactly the same scale anyway so no big deal. I think they'll all still display well together as nicely designed Lego vehicle models regardless of scale.

Thanks all! It's good fun making the stickers and sometimes requires a bit of thought to work out how to translate the designs from the real cars down to lego scale. I'm currently working on a Williams F1 car and the Martini livery is proving challenging! :)

Next up, here's Renault's 2016 R.S. 16 #20 driven by Kevin Magnussen. Slightly different build to the McLaren around the nose, front wing and sides.

Cheers. Like most, I'm not a huge fan of stickers on Lego, but for the F1 cars I think we can make an exception seeing as the real cars are plastered with stickers! I've updated the torso sticker so it is more in keeping with the drivers in the official sets. Edit: this photo show alternate nose piece with #22 Jenson Button.

Nice builds! I especially like the P1, you've captured the shape really well despite the small scale.

[MOC] Model Team 1:17 Scale Ferrari SF-16H (F1)
nickbrick replied to BrickMonkeyMOCs's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is fantastic, I love it! Great work! It's a good looking model but the removable bodywork makes it even more impressive. -
Thanks! I'm lucky enough to have access to some commercial printing equipment. The stickers are printed onto high quality vinyl, the printer uses 8 ink colours which allows for better print quality and colour matching than standard CMYK printing. The stickers are then contour cut by machine. I created all of the sticker designs as vectors in Adobe Illustrator using the sizes of the stickers from the official Lego Ferrari set as a reference. I've created a Brickshelf account so I can share a few more photos now, here's one of the rear of the car, showing the stickers at the back more clearly.

I've been making some additional 2016 season F1 cars to sit alongside the Ferrari F1 Speed Champions set (75879), first up is one of my favourite teams (despite their poor form in partnership with Honda), McLaren. This is my interpretation of their 2016 MP4-31 #14 driven by Fernando Alonso. The build was straightforward as it follows the standard Speed Champions F1 car build closely with just a couple of tweaks to nose and wing. The stickers were the biggest challenge as it's not possible to put all the logos in exactly the right place and scale. I didn't want any stickers to span more than one brick which limited things still further but I'm happy with the end result. Let me know what you think!

Awesome, cheers! I'll have a go at building it - might need to bricklink a couple of parts though. :) -
