    Modular buildings question, how many?

hello, all have been reading this topic with interest, I didn't pay much attention to the modular buildings, I prefer the older town sets / scale and size wise, last year I was asked to build the Paris restaurant for a friends son who had received it for Christmas, he was only 7/8 so was finding it tough, I was rather impressed with the design but managed to resit buying, but recently had a bid on grand emporium and won so got to get them all now, managed to get 7 all new and boxed this week, and will be buying assembly square next month, the really old ones are fetching big money so will have to wait. has anyone tried the led lighting sets that are cropping up, they look good, but wonder if they show when not lit.

    Hello, my name is david

I Really like the 9 stud baseplates, probably because these were what was available when I was little, I could never understand why the 7 stud roads were introduced. my first train was a 7720, It was my favourite thing for years, but sadly the battery car brook and a replacement was very expensive, I later bought a 4563 9v which I liked a lot, I love the simplicity of the 9v rails, but I also love the 12v signals / points. I have a basic layout in mind, based on the shape of the room etc, I'm even considering running the trains underneath the table, sort of a holding area, that way the layout won`t look to busy. I plant to build a mountain to the rear, with seaport / divers setup on the front, been looking at some of the great layout on here and on the net, there are some great setups out there. I wonder what the most `official` sets have been used as one time ?

    Hello, my name is david

hi there, just signed up as been looking at photos of setup and decided it was time to start getting organised, been prepping to create a large vintage town setup for close to ten years now, I have most of the sets, the room is nearly empty, it time to get get started. if anyone has any pre building advice, not is the time ! the rules will be as follows : only vintage lego town/train/boat sets, upto about 1999. the set must be as complete as possible with and many original stickers as possible. that is about as far as I I`ve got, I have some nice later sets, but I want this to be authentic, I used to love those old lego catalogs that showed massive setups that no one could ever build or afford.

What do you do with your LEGO Boxes

hello all, since this is my first post, please bear with me if something is not right, re boxes, as a child I was an avid collector of lego, I had a large town setup and branched out into space, (which is now know as classic space !) I I used to but sets, open them up, then dispose of the boxes, this is before recycling was even do able, it is a great source of regret, as now I'm assembling a collection of boxed sets, many of which Ive had to re buy from bricklink or ebay, I now have close to 400 boxed sets, which a keep in a special room, lined out with sweedish flatpck store shelves. hopefully later this year I'm going to start a large train/town/castle display featuring close to 300 classic sets. hope to show photo as work begins.
