Hi there, I've seen some nice work done around here, so I decided to share my part ;) I've been working on TIE/D Defender for some time now. It's based on the very same cockpit concept as original lego Tie Fighter (id: 79095). Model has ~2400 bricks (+around 100 for a stand) and believe me or not it's quite sturdy :) It's scaled to be displayed next to Tie Fighter 79095 UCS. I cannot post images here, so here is a link to some renders: http://imgur.com/a/bqP77 Cheers and let me know what do you think.

Ha! Was almost ready to publish, but life took a different turn and now legos are in the boxes :/

[MOC][LDD][PDF] The Viper probe droid, aka: Imperial Probe Droid
mcgrah posted a topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi there, Recently I've seen amazing lego build on: Lego Ideas. Unfortunately it did not come through. So I decided to build one myself. Using Icemann pictures as references and studying sideshowtoy.com collectibles I've come up with somewhat different build than original Icemann's. Went through dozens of ideas how to create round probe body and head and trying to decorate it as close as possible to movie and star wars wiki designs. Drone stats: Brick count: ~950 Brick count stand: ~70 Dimensions (WxDxH): 12cm x 12cm x 10cm / 5" x 5" x 4" + arms stretch about 12cm (5") [excluding antennas] All arms can move independently - each arm joint has it's own lego-joint and whole arm is mounted on towball joint type, also head can rotate freely. Thx for all replays and for pointing out one major flaw in probe design - to small head (thx Meatcan!). Here are some new renders of the new version: https://imgur.com/a/80VR1 I'm posting LDD file for a probe with detailed PDF manual. If you'd like to throw some money in my general direction - please do not hesitate :P [paypal] PDF (reupload): https://shorturl.at/pzP45 LDD (reupload): http://shorturl.at/gwB45 LDD stand: https://shorturl.at/agvL1 XML (Bricklink, parts list):https://shorturl.at/bpyF6 Feel free to comment and have a good day :) Best- 57 replies

Thx, Looks like LEDO Digital Designer got some part with older codes/colors, but those parts you've posted are replacements from newer sets. I'm glad you like it - now it makes the Drone complete :) Let me know how the stand .. well stands :) I'm bricklinking it myself!- 57 replies

OK, had some extra time (1h exactly cos time change :D) and come up with such idea for a stand. It might work, but didn't build it so consider it as proof of concept. Here is LDD file: https://goo.gl/FZxTDJ Cheers- 57 replies

OMG! This is great! Nice photos too :) As for a stand, I did the same as you but from clear parts, and... it's not cat friendly. Second one I did from very old technic parts and it's quite ok, but looks ugly as hell :) Once suggestion to your build, since LDD (official) do not support that kind of parts - for those (2 of them I believe) 3 eyed cameras I've used this part [Lever Small Base: 4592] instead of [1x1 round stubs: 4073]. And man! great job, thx!- 57 replies

You can build any stand for it based on fact that axle can go almost through it. There is a hole at the bottom with round plate (15535), that was designed for a stand - I did makeshift one using clear 3941 (as Azrielsc suggested) and axle but wasn't sturdy enough.- 57 replies

You can open it in LDD editor and remove those files, then add to Bricklink wanted list manually :) Other option is to load it to stud.io and replace 18624 with 4590 and export to Bricklink from the program. Or third option - take Azrielsc road :)- 57 replies

Hi, you might be right about head being a little bit to small, I'll try to rework it. It will take some some time to complete, but I think it's worth it :) As for scale, it's (with some kind of stand) about 30cm high, but considering original probe was about 1.6m high - I'd say no, it's not BB-8 or R2D2 scale, at least not UCS ones. I'm planning to release LDD file once I'm done with fixes. Cheers- 57 replies

You can use any Tie Fighter model design out there. Just skip the wings part from both sides and you're ok :)
