The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Looks like it. And yes, Scarecrow is brilliant- I'm not normally a big fan, but between the awesome minifigure and surprisingly good build, I am tempted to get his Scarecopter when it comes out. Depends who else is in the Two-Face set. Speaking of which: Oddly, the 2012 Two-Face is less wacky than the retro 40's-80's design that inspired it (which featured green scars, a bow tie and a bold plaid pattern, as seen in this statue: http://www.sideshowtoy.com/assets/products/902549-classic-two-face/lg/batman-two-face-statue-tweeterhead-902549-01.jpg)- I would love to see them do this design with the new bow tie piece As for the actual film Two-Face, I don't think the design works well for any serious version of the character, and I can easily see why people would prefer a less out-there design for the character. That said- it might possibly be my favourite design for the character in any medium, because it is such a completely different design from the usual, and I love how funny and surreal the bad side looks, with the exposed skull, melting hair and suit, and the goofy underwear. Also, I really like how his normal side looks really interesting and cool by itself, as opposed to the rather generic faces and suits of both previous figures. Would I like him to look like this all the time? Probably not, but I like how they've really come up with a design that pays homage to the character's past film appearances while also doing things that would only work in the context of a Lego movie (as regular Harvey Dent isn't made of plastic, for example).

Kind of agree about the wacky Batsuits (the only one I think I'm getting is Fairy Batman because of how hilarious it is ) but I really like the inclusion of ultra-obscure villains who'd otherwise never appear in a set, especially as for many of them appearing in this line is the highest-profile appearance they've ever had. For example, I would really, really like to see a Mad Hatter minifigure, but he could probably headline his own set in the main DC line, while say, the Mime wouldn't be able to do that as she's only been in one comic, which doesn't give you much to go on set-wise. I actually prefer the use of obscure villains to generic henchmen, as the latter are easy enough to build with spare parts. Also, it ultimately isn't up to the set designers, as the film's director was going for as many obscure villains as he could possibly use. (also I can't help but suspect in Hatter's case that Lego's relationship with Disney has something to do with his absence- unlike March Harriet, Hatter's name and appearance is very much tied to Alice in Wonderland, which complicates things a fair bit- also he isn't a well-known villain among the general public, so people might not understand why a character from Alice in Wonderland is fighting Batman. Disney might not want the Alice hatter tainted by the image of DC's villain) As for getting more comic-accurate Batsuit variants- I personally don't think they are all that crucial, and they don't strike me as being as appealing to the general public. For example- Earth One Batman isn't that visually exciting, and most children would see it as just another boring grey Batsuit, while Vacation Batman is much funnier, and more people would be interested than just fans of the comics. The only more serious Batsuit variants I could see being appealing might be Elseworlds-type Batsuits marketed under less comic-specific terms (e.g. Gotham By Gaslight becomes "Steampunk Batsuit) or location-specific designs like the Arctic and Desert suits already available. But then I don't see the appeal in owning so many variants, and I don't have either the money or the interest in being a completionist, so it doesn't matter to me as much as it would to people who need everything. And that Clown suit is horrible, they could've done something brilliant with that concept but the execution is just .

Think I'm able to post these here (given Delta Customs has claimed these characters/sets are in the second wave, and hasn't been wrong before): Found the poster with all the villains posted a few pages back on the website of Pyramid International, who seem to be doing posters and things for the film: https://www.pyramidinternational.com/brand/lego-batman/?start=0- they've got one poster featuring Bane's vehicle, which is surprisingly small (and orange!) I've also found this cover for a sticker book: http://www.booktopia.com.au/the-lego-batman-movie-ultimate-sticker-collection-dk/prod9780241279465.html- very small picture, but it has the only full-body shot of the NYCC Harley Quinn minifig- I'm going to keep an eye out for a larger image!

That sounds about right from Shop@Home when they had the sets up, but you missed Catwoman Catcycle Chase (about $35 last time I checked, same as the Freeze and Scarecrow sets); Clayface Splat Attack, the Arctic Roller and Riddle Racer were all $49.99, but the Arctic Roller went up by five euros so it might go up here too . No word on any other price increases.

Great trailer- think I saw Egghead (at about 1:05, the bald chap in white between March Harriet, Hugo Strange and the Mime). Gentleman Ghost looks pretty cool, and I'm hoping he's not a Comic-Con exclusive (it's hard to say whether I'd prefer to get him or Hugo Strange, though Strange is easier to make a custom figure of). Can't wait to find out how many of these guys we're getting in the next wave!

Calculator looks pretty terrible even without close-ups . Apart from him, though, most of them look more or less okay, and I get the feeling it would really depend on individual minifigures. Great review, though- it's annoying that Joker's sad face only comes there, as it would make more sense in the Balloon Escape, but I guess that he needs something to set him apart from the other Arkham Joker. It's also kinda nice that there's three complete sets of figures in each box, as none of these characters are really army builders (unless you're doing an Invasion of the Pencil Men, or something ). Out of them, I think my personal picks might be Commissioner Gordon, The Mime, Fairy Batman, and possibly King Tut and March Harriet. Not sure I can afford too many others...

At a guess, I'd say they didn't want sets that won't be released for a month or so appearing on Shop@Home when people are doing their Christmas shopping, or something like that- if you saw you only had to wait a couple of months for these sets, you wouldn't spend on the 2016 wave of Super Heroes sets (which I imagine LEGO would want to sell at this time of year)- after all, who'd pay more for a set with Killer Croc when a far better version is appearing in just a month in a slightly cheaper set? I think the reason people in the United States are still seeing them is because the four sets on their Lego Batman Movie page are already out there in time for the Christmas season, while the others were just sitting around convincing people to save their money and come in a month's time, which I imagine isn't good for business. They could also be tweaking the prices, but probably (hopefully?) not by much- I can't see them making the sets too much more expensive, as they'd want people to see the sets as good value for money otherwise no-one would buy any. Getting back to Clayface- it's odd, but I actually kind of like the frog-like face and stubby little legs, they give the model a lot of character, and I think that the decision to go brick-built makes far more sense for the style that the film's made in (as a bigfig or minifigure wouldn't be able to shape-shift otherwise). The Clayface figure worked in the LEGO Batman games because minifigures in the game weren't as solid and so the animation was possible, but that wouldn't have worked in the world established by The LEGO Movie. I'd say my biggest problem with him is actually the arms- I wish they'd given him ordinary hands, or thrown in a second weapon hand (a spiky mace-like one?) rather than just the stud-shooters. Don't get me wrong, this is a great set if you want more stud shooters, as you get twelve, but they aren't that good for much other than a play feature here.

The Brothers' Brick have some good images from the actual set: http://www.brothers-brick.com/2016/12/05/lego-batman-movie-70907-killer-croc-tail-gator-review/

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Thanks for sharing, might finally jump in with my thoughts on some of these characters! I think out of the main rogues, my favourite is still the Penguin (I love the new top hat and umbrella, and both his "diabolical squawking laughter" Batcave face and his "CURSE YOU BATMAN YOU SCRATCHED THE PAINT JOB!!!" face from the Arctic Roller). But Two-Face is definitely a close second! I love the way that he's a sort of hybrid of all three film Harvey Dents, (Billy Dee Williams on the unscarred side, with the scarred side being in his Batman Forever colour scheme, but with a half-damaged suit and more severe scarring- melted down to the bone!- which brings to mind The Dark Knight), and I also love the melted plastic hairdo and exposed heart-pattern underpants! I'm also really fond of that Poison Ivy, who's just a massive improvement on all the previous versions of the character, though I'm still sad that she has, once again, appeared in one of the most expensive sets, so I'm probably going to have to get her on the secondary market, if at all. I quite like the Riddler, too, though wish there was more purple in his costume, and might get the Riddle Racer if it goes on sale. I also love that Killer Croc has a classic crocodile's head for a face- I can picture it flapping around whenever he's talking on screen- he's definitely my favourite bigfig in this line, or perhaps ever. I also think that I prefer Harley's more circusy costume here to her Lowrider outfit, and wonder what she's going to come in. On the other hand, much as I like the new tailcoat, I think I prefer the Lowrider Joker, with his snazzy waistcoat and bare tattooed arms. On the heroes side- I am somewhat disappointed that the boring old regular Batsuit's in most of the sets, but I guess that's what he'll be wearing through most of the film, and I'd much rather get Fairy Batman for $6 than cough up more money to have him in a more expensive set, so it doesn't matter to me too much. Robin, on the other hand, might well be my all-time favourite version of the character. He's just so adorably goofy! Batgirl's also pretty neat, though I wish they'd gone for something closer to the 2014/Batgirl of Burnside design. The real standouts, though, are Alfred and Commissioner Gordon, who are just brilliant. Alfred's new shirt collar and coat-tails are awesome, and I like both Gordon's rough-and-ready outfit from the Collectible Minifigures, and his fancy dress uniform from the Scuttler. Definitely going to have to get some of these sets- at least the Arctic Roller (one of the best ever vehicles from Super Heroes, IMO) and whatever Two-Face comes in, though I'll probably end up buying more- this will be an expensive year...
