  1. Hi all, I would like to start lacquering my own elements in metallic silver and gold, as purchasing them online from reputable vendors is just so expensive. I fully understand why this is, but I also ask myself "how hard can it be?" I would like to be able to create a process that's a step above a rattle-can of Krylon, and some newspaper. I had the opportunity to ask Mark Stafford on reddit if he knew anything about LEGO's process for lacquering these elements, as that kind of stuff interests me. His response was this: I was able to do some research on this process, and came across this video showing a process that looks very similar to what Mark described. Should be quite obvious that this process isn't exactly for the home-gamer, and it's likely not the process that vendors like Chrome Block City use, as his elements are "sprayed" to an extent, not tumbled. Does anyone have any information to contribute regarding this process? It would be nice to start a thread that's a sort of knowledge base, or repository for information regarding this process, experimentation with techniques, etc. Specifically, I would like to focus on Metallic Gold and Metallic Silver elements. Chroming is an entirely different process that could probably use its own thread. Share what you know, and let's try to make it rain.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Not all of the new silver-metallic (drum lacquered) elements are available yet, but they're in the system at least! First time seeing 1x1 tile in metallic silver as far as I know. Two new printed tiles, really looking forward to seeing the 2x2 round tile get used in some builds.

21311 - Voltron is up! Not many of the new silver-metallic (drum lacquered) elements are available yet, but they're in the system at least! Also notable is that great printed 2x2 round tile that will be handy for all sorts of things. Fair price too.

Hey @Graupensuppe, This is easily the best looking Soyuz/R7 lego depiction I've seen to date. Obviously, some of my favorite other Soyuz MOCs: KEI ABE: Minifig-Scale Soyuz-1-2 KEI ABE: Micro-scale Soyuz R7 Luis Peña: Apollo-Soyuz Test Project Sunder_59: Soyuz 7K-T Tyler/Legohaulic: Soyuz (which I actually managed to re-create on my own quite successfully) Brickmania: Vostok 1 (ludicrously priced for what you actually get in my opinion) Just from looking at the pictures, I seem to have most of the elements required for this build. (though many colors my differ) If you're willing to share some more information with me, I would love to put one together myself to help determine the viability of some of the techniques and connections. If you prefer to keep parts lists and files close to the chest, I also understand that as well. Amazing work. Supported!

Still getting the Ooops! message unfortunately. I'm sure I can place an order by phone, but I'd hate to trouble a S&H employee by rattling off a dozen or so element IDs and quantities.

Anyone else getting this message when trying to confirm an order? Lots of new elements added like @anothergol says, but having trouble actually placing an order.

Anyone see the new elements that are supposed to be in this set? Should be at least three. I believe there are some new arch elements pictured here. New arch elements?

Some recent table-scraps using some fresh new elements that just arrived: Skinny solid boosters using new candlesticks? New wands are going to be very useful I believe. This connection made me EXTREMELY giddy. I really think the new Harry Potter wand elements are going to prove very versatile for people who like to greeble, or work in microscale. Did not expect to want more of that element so badly.

Is there a topic for general discussion of Bricks and Pieces and new parts availability? I know this thread is aimed specifically at availability of licensed elements on B&P. If this is the only active topic on the matter, that's fine too.
  12. Representing a real world counterpart Check Built in scale Not sure what the scale it will be just yet. Built as advanced Model Team, mainly with bricks, plates and tiles. Hmm... Not so much. Techniques will probably include curves, SNOT, and more 'modern' techniques. Not purely Technic Check Is there a topic that I can share to that's really geared towards non-fictitious spaceflight? Thanks for the reply. :)
  13. If I am working on a scale model, and I am looking for feedback, or suggestions on building techniques, where should I post a topic?
