    Battle of Hoth

Hello everyone! I would like to introduce my new MOC - battle of Hoth diorama. I signed in to this site in 2007 but this creation is the first thing I'm posting here. The inspiration came from marshal banana's phtostream on Flickr. I took his snowspeeder and 'P-Tower' models as a basis and created my own variants of those. The base is quite different: it is larger and made by using standard building techniques with some SNOT. Let's go straight to the pictures. Here is the overall view. As you can see, the diorama includes a trench with some rebel troopers trying to hold off the enemy, a tauntaun, an Imperial probe droid crashsite, some terrain details such as an elevation with 1.4 FD P-Tower laser cannon standing over it and a T-47 Snowspeeder flying over the battlefield. Lets take a look at the model from different angles. A transparent stand mounted over rocky terrain provides support for the speeder. There are some very old yellowed parts: I had to use them due to to the insufficience of white parts. Top view. You can see a crashed Imperial probot in the left lower corner. In trench there are compact power generator, power converters ans feeding cables attached to the weaponry. Here is the trench. Energy generator can be seen. E-WEB heavy repeating blaster. 1.4. FD P-Tower delivering firepower against Imperial targets. P-Tower separate views. Now let's take a closer look at the Snowspeeder. In the background there is 'Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels' (in Russian). I borrowed the idea of using different-coloured plates to recreate heterogeneity of speeder's surface from marshal banana's version of it. Rear view. SNOT radiator grill. There is no working tow cable mechanism in my model. Underside view. There are movable 'air brakes' (things near the black grill). Cockpit opens to reveal pilot and gunner. Cockpit view. Pilot's seat. Gunner's station. 'Exploded' views. Construction distinctive features. And finally, some funny shots: A careless skier has gone through time and space to appear in a quite unusual place. Yeti attacks! Hope you enjoyed watching this. Thank you for your attention

    Cement Mixer (7990) Pic Review

Nice set. The truck looks quite realistic despite of some discrepancies in its design. I like that the cement tank has a working mechanism. Those round blue parts can be used not only as engines but also as protruding hull segments. I think it will be possible to attach them on each side of a spacecraft to form a streamline-looking surface. And of course they have an opportunity to become missile stages or bodies of satellites. If I have this set I definitely find where to apply those pieces.

Did you notice the tail stabilizer on that shuttle shifted back? I noticed that only after posting images of that scene. Till now I really wonder why I placed the tail in such a strange way. By the way I have added some new pictures to the City folder. There are MOCs that were used in my vedeo-clip.

Hello people. I am new member of this wonderful society. Let me introduce myself. I am from Russia. Oh, don't be afraid. I am not one of those drunk bears in a cap with earlaps and balalaika. :) Actually there are no such creatures here. I live in Saint-Petersburg (remember, it's the capital of Russian culture). I am 19 years old and I have been engaged in Lego since I was 6. That time the first two sets - 6834 and 6835 - were presented to me for birthday. It is very difficult to afford buying Lego here because it is awfully overpriced. So my collection is not very big. However I have enough parts to build quite detailed models of small or medium size. I am interested mostly in Lego System series and I have very small amount of Technic parts such as different gears. My favourite series are Star Wars, Exo Force and City. I love Exo-Force because of good price/piece quantity ratio. Star Wars is one of my favourite sci-fiction films so I love Lego models based on it. The new series of City sets attracts me because of great design and some useful parts. I'm not a fan of simple collecting of sets so all of my sets are disassembled and used for construction of my own creations. Well I think this short story will acquaint you with my Lego history and you will accept me in your community. At last I'll show you my Brickshelf gallery. I started to place pictures of MOCs there since I had got digital camera (approximately 3 years ago). Here is the link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=Devastator Also I have recently made a stop-motion video clip using Lego. Here it is: I hope you enjoy it. And the last note. I am sorry for my "defective" English. There may be a number of different mistakes. So I ask all of you to accept my apologies (and please do not act as vader did in his time). *vader* :-)
