Of course there is a way to justify it; 200 more parts, a couple of new minifigures and INFLATION. (When most products increased in price every year since 2008, the Death Star didn't) 2016 may not be a good year for the Star Wars-theme, but LEGO do produce other stuff. I think people are happy with the new Disney Castle, the architecture-wave and the technic-wave. And probably other things to.

Today I bought: 7194 Yoda, 10143 Death Star II, 10174 Imperial AT-ST and 10175 Vader's TIE Advanced, all of them used.

According to LEGO it's 41 cm tall and 42 cm wide.

136 cm. (If you ment the elevator shaft, that's 21,5 cm.)

I agree with you, that LEGO most likely don't care about the secondary market. However, as I see it, it is very hard to make an iconic set. And I do think that 10179 will loose some of its glory,if a new MF UCS becomes available. But maybe I'm completely wrong, and it will be a huge success. I'm quite sure LEGO knows WAY BETTER than me what the answer is. :)

Now I can add a used 7663 Sith Infiltrator, a new 75093 Death Star Final Duel, a new 75099 Rey's Speeder, a new 75114 First Order Stormtrooper and a new 7133 Bounty Hunter Pursuit to my collection.

I don't think we'll ever see a rerelease of the Millennium Falcon UCS, because that would take away the reputation/exclusivity the 10179 has as "the ultimate Star Wars-set" which is very, very hard to get. Since it's the 40th anniversary, I assume/hope that they will release a new version of the 10030. If they do (and the rumor about the 10129 is right), it will be a great year for me. My biggest fear is a sculpture of Luke or Han.

According to Bricklink the Disney Castle is 5700 gram, and the Death Star (10188) is 8060 gram, that's an advantage for the DS. If you're going to compare stuff, you can't just compare the things that support your opinion. And Disney probably know that they can charge more for Star Wars UCS-sets,than for a Disney Castle-set. (not a fact, just my opinion)

I'm a collector of LEGO Star Wars, but I don't have the space, money or the interest of moc's (although some of them are very impressive). But I think I'll make an exception when it comes to your micro-landskapes, because I really liked them, they're great. Hope to see more.

I bought the 10188 Death Star to a 10 year old kid. I was thinking that LEGO are ment for kids, and since I knew no one else would buy it to him, I did. I'm not rich, but I think my priorities are good. When LEGO is too expensive for kids, some grown ups should buy it to them (instead of buying it to them selves). So some adults do actually buy $500 sets to 10-12 year old kids. :)

The best set ever, in my opinion, is 10134 Y-wing Fighter. I don't know why, but I think 75025 Jedi Defender-class cruiser is an awfully ugly ship, so that one is the worst set, for me.

This week I have purchased : Used : 10179 Millennium Falcon and 6209 Slave 1. New : 7658 Y-wing Fighter, 7153 Slave 1, 9515 Malevolence, 7965 Millenium Falcon, 7929 Battle of Naboo, 9493 X-wing Fighter, 9525 Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter, 8098 Turbo Tank, 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter and 9516 Jabba's Palace. Expensive week. =)
