    2018 Lego Trains

have you tried also the 1x1 round brick with open stud? not sure that they don't block too much of the light, but they might fit better in the LEDs. Worth trying I guess. Welcome! I had spent much time lurking from the shadows before my first post too (and still post only very occasionally), so congrats on taking this new step :) I am one of the conservatives, don't want to chop pieces, but I admit that your render is very good ! It's a shame that the new PUP system doesn't allow more than one set of lights (except if you remove the motor) as you can't get both top and bottom lights at the same time without hacking cables. Other solution being to retrofit to the old PF system and be able to stack plugs...

That's a much better integration than mine for the shape factor, well done! How is the lighting direction with lights on? Don't the LEDs light up too much on the sides?

Here is my 60198 loco, retrofit to Power Functions, and with lights. The light modification makes the nose just a bit longer (two plates), which I think does not compromise the look (at least it will not once I'll have the correct parts in green) More pictures here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4cd0l0od2jpcy5o/AADo2-94SO8IPXv6OFwle31Aa?dl=0

    2018 Lego Trains

I went to my LEGO Store (Disney Village, Paris) after work this evening to buy some PF parts, and asked if they had the new 88005 PUP LED lights available. And they did! So, I obviously got one of those, and here is what I can say: First, the middle piece size : it's a bit longer than the 2x2 piece of the old PF lights. This one is 2x3, and 2 plates in thickness. There are no studs on it, but a Technic hole in the middle. I don't yet own the 60197 train so I don't know if it will be good to attach it. Next, how it works : I connected the lights to the B plug of the hub, motor being on A plug, and tried to control them with both the PUP remote and the PUP app on my phone. The results were interesting, as the lights reacted differently: with the remote, I can control separately the motor and the lights, which have 10 intensity levels. First press on the Plus (or Minus) button it lights up feably, then more intensely with each press until the max level the opposed button decreased the intensity by one step each press. Red button stops instantaneously. with the app, however, there is no specific control for the light. They will turn on at maximum intensity as soon as I turn on the motor at speed 1, and the light intensity does not change as I increase or decrease the motor speed. They just turn off when speed is zero. And now I just have to wait to find a nice way to integrate the lights in the 60198 engine... Alhough I may just retrofit it completely to PF and keep the PUP units for the Christmas Train, which will be much nicer without the ugly IR receiver modification...

    LEGO Ideas WALL-E

Received my rework bag today. That was quick, not even 24 hours after the email :) Apart from the instructions and pieces, it came with a letter explaining that they include the replacement pieces for my Wall-E 21303. Then they say that if my Wall-E has a head that moves too much I should contact support so that they would send me the pieces and instructions to fix it (wait, what? They just said that's what was included in the package). And they conclude that I can follow the instructions provided to build or fix my Wall-E, or if I don't want to fix it I can just add the pieces to my collection (why would I have asked them for the replacement parts if I did not want to fix it?) The whole letter written in French, with some grammar errors and sentences sounding a bit weird... I appreciate TLG's effort to provide localized support, but they could do with better translators. Anyway, the instructions are easy to follow and the fix was quickly applied. My Wall·E can finally gaze at the stars without worrying that his head's weight will actually make him stare at the ground :)

Also received the email last night about the rework bag sent and I should contact them back if I don't receive it within 7 to 10 days.

Aside from the Amiibos competition in the toys-to-life sector, would you seriously consider that Nintendo could allow their characters such as Mario to be included in a game that is *not* WiiU exclusive?

No problem, feel free to share the answer anywhere you want. I don't get why TLG does not publish the solution publicly, they only helped me through direct messages on Twitter.

The LEGO Dimensions twitter account answered quite quickly and efficiently. They told me to uninstall completely the patch and redownload it from scratch. It worked :) If you are using PS3 and don't want to have to download the 3GB update twice, I would recommend that you first remove the previous patches from your system and then launch the new patch download. (Removing just the patch data does not affect your saved game)

You can update the vehicles and gadgets by using the associated characters: place the character on the toypad, and go to Vorton. Then, move the ingame character on the portal platform (either on the middle circle or one of the Ls), and press the show key (Circle on Playstation) to access the Vorton Gateway menu. From there, you can access the Upgrade menu (second item from left). You will have the option to upgrade your character's vehicle/gadget by spending the studs you aquired through the game. Once you spend 10 upgrades for a form of the vehicle (or 6 for a gadget with limited updates), you can upgrade it to the next form, by spending studs AND a few gold bricks. You will access the build instructions for this new piece. When you're happy with your upgrade, don't forget to save the new features on the toy tag (follow the instructions displayed top left of the screen for which button to press).

Huge issues with this last update! I can't get any character other than Wildstyle, Batman and Gandalf to materialize. When I place any physical character from an additional pack on the toypad, the blue vortex opens and the character never pops-out of it in the game. You can see an illustration here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eoi80h5x5175pbp/2015-11-16%2020.25.02.jpg Any vehicles, including the Batmobile, never appears in game either. Other issues I've noticed: - when I pause the game, the redbrick count at the bottom left of the screen lists 10/10, instead of the total 12/12 that I got - the minikit builds from the 4 additional levels (Simpsons, Portal, BTTF, Doctor Who) do not show-up in the minikit lists in the Vorton Gateway menu, I can only see those I got from the original story levels. Anyone else got the update and has these issues? PS3 or other platform?

Currently downloading a brand new update on PS3. Download size is 2908 MB, I wonder what new content it brings; hopefully something this big can not be only bugfixes. Tthe next wave with new levels is planned only in two months, so I assume it is not the Ghostbusters content already… EDIT: Update installed. Nothing appears in the "News" section of the game home screen, but version number reads 1.2.1 at the bottom of the Options screen, so it's now probably just bug fixes and no new features... With the size of it, I do hope all the main issues are fixed, especially the RAD in Doctor Who…

Thanks, it worked, I have passed the crashing point and completed the level :) Now I hope this will be fixed in a future update soon, so the minikit hunt will be worry-less.

So, I have received my Doctor Who level pack and I'm facing a crashing problem when playing the level: the game and my whole PS3 system crash/freeze at the same point at the early stage of the level, when I use the TARDIS to go back from Brick Arch Victorian London to Brick Arch 2025 London after moving the window to the minikit position with the crane : the Tardis in Vortex animation starts playing for a few seconds and then just freezes. Anyone else having similar issue?
