    [MOD] Cafe corner revisited

Coming from AFOLs so talented, it's very flattering! I assume they wanted to let the builders use their imagination... I actually named my Lego town "Christiansenburg" , As soon as my man and I are moving to a larger place, big enough so we can dedicate an entire room to our Lego town and trains, I'll also put numbers to the buildings and names to the streets. We do have a dream: make a section on my website where we can show the "history" of the town, the minifigs building the town from scratch, starting with a small farm, then progressing towards a whole village, then a thriving town, with some of the older building falling into disrepair.... Listen to me, dreaming out loud, we're far from that right now! I hope mine inspires you to make your own now. For the roof color, I tried black, but to me it looks sooooooooooooo much better in dark grey, and I'm planning other buildings with dark grey roof, so the MOD CC will blend in just right... Thank you for your contribution, every one!

    [MOD] Cafe corner revisited

I actually decided on the dark grey roof tiles because the dark red would have clashed with the bright red awning, and black tiles are already on quite a lot of my modular buildings.

    Lovely Sailboat

It is indeed lovely, the kind of set that would make me want to add a port to my town! Very, very good job, a pleasant balance between realism and Lego standard! and a round of applause!

    [MOD] Cafe corner revisited

B-OM-20A I had recreated a Cafe Corner close to the original one last winter, thanks to a few orders to Bricklink, but I wasn't happy with the interior, so I spruced it up and added a 16x32 baseplate upon which I built a true hotel lobby, but I tried to keep it true to the rest of the CC. I also printed stickers and cut out an apron for my waitress in a useless Harry Potter cape. All of it can be seen there; but I'm posting a few pictures here as well to give you a sample of what it looks like: Purists might grimace at all the liberties I took, But I hope others will like it.

    [MOC] Modular town house

Oh, I just noticed thic topic came up again, thanks for noticing it and bringing it back from oblivion. I won't be entering this creation for the Modular Madness Contest, I'm curently working on a whole new set of projects for my town, that will have to wait till I get some new pieces from the Lego store in Windsor in July. Meanwhile, I'm about to post some pictures of my MOD Cafe Corner, should be on line tonight.
  7. I've started to make decals for my little townies. I already put the firsts I made on my Flickr Album. Feel free to use them if you like them... I'll be going back to work tomorrow, and I won't have much time to work on my Lego town till Easter break, but I will need to make more for the various businesses I've planed. Stay tuned!

    My city 2012 version

Great, great work, Cunctator! That's exactly the kind of city I hope to achieve in the end, And I must warn you, I'll probably steal more than a few design ideas from your buildings! Keep brickin' on!

    [MOC] Modular town house

  ... X 10∞! Thank you all for the compliments. That's what my man said when I showed him the house. Once I'm done with my Cafe corner MOD, I'll fix this little problem. I have larger cars, but this was one of those which fitted the best. I'm keeping the smaller cars, like the Smarts, for the town houses, while the bigger cars are going to the suburbian residences. I'm going to use this design for my bookstore as well, so I'll take a few more photos as I build, and not just of the finished work, if you want. Welcome, then! I didn't use any of them, just had my pet shop notice close by for the stairs' design, and a few mental pictures of the houses of my hometown for inspiration. But watch out for my next creations, I will try and take pictures of the building process. That was my point exactly when I was planning this one (and more to come, but later, money and room to expose are getting tight) Thank you for that. I still can't believe I made it the 3rd place . I can't wait to meet my job counselor, and tell her that I finally found something I'm good at: building with Lego!

    Micro Modular Town House

I don't mind at all, quite the contrary, I'm flattered! I'm not at all into micro-scale building, so I don't have a clue about the rights and wrongs in it, but I can see that it's very nice looking anyway!

    [MOC] Modular town house

B-RM-07B I've wanted to build a modular town house to fit in with The Pet shop ones, but a bit smaller to allow for the balcony of Market street. Here's the result, Let me know what you think. Even negative critics are welcome! With my Market Street MOD: More pictures here

Does anyone have trouble seeing the video? I can't watch it, they say it's private.

Suggestions for the center piece of a lego town

A market place would be nice, too, with stands selling fish, meat, flowers, veggies and fruit. A park sounds great, but you can also have a park, and a place with an nice looking pavement pattern, a monument in its middle and a few souvenir sellers. The difficulty now, will be to choose from all these ideas!

Expand The Winter Village II - Winners!

Oh My!!! I can't believe I actually won something! A big hug to all the people who voted for me, a round of applause to all the contestants, and a standing ovation to the winners, Dix and Tatertots, who really deserve the honnor. A special mention to Cecilie : I just love that Chocolate shop, wish I had put more points in it ...

[Modular] MOD Tan version of Market Street

WOW! I never expected so many positive reviews! Thank you folks About the colour.... at first I intended to do the first floor in dark red, but I didn't have enough pieces then, so I went the whole hog in tan. Though I think now I could do it, I have a bigger amount of dark red... I'll see what I can do during the winter break. Coming soon also, a CC MOD, with a 16-stud-wide hotel checking desk add-on! Let's keep brickin' on!
