I received an email from Lego today indicating 5X VIP points starting today for select models in-store only. Any ideas about what those models might be? I don't want to drive 90 minutes to find out.

Mrs. Clause is underwhelming. The old Mrs. Clause that was previously released (again, with a Winter Village set I believe) is superior in every way. I have the older version, so no need for me to try and track down this new version. I do like the sweater on the little boy. I might try to get several of them. As @karrit mentioned above, I was hoping for a new elf. I have lots of elves with green hats, a few with red, and a few with pink. I was hoping to get more variety or at least more balance between the numbers (more reds and pinks). Oh well. Maybe next year.

In my opinion, running out of CNY set ideas is like running out of Christmas ideas. They can keep this up forever. Take any building or event, design it with a festive atmosphere including fireworks and lanterns, and bingo, you have a CNY set. I personally hope they get all the way through the Lunar cycle (5 down, 7 to go). This is one of the Lego highlights each year for me.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the Lego website says that a Lunar New Year VIP Add On Pack is coming soon, presumably with the release of the new CNY sets.

I wonder if the mysterious disappearance of the GWP in North America has anything to do with the backlog of cargo ships in Southern California? Maybe the sets are stuck in the supply chain backlog without guarantee they will make it to the stores or delivery warehouses?

I was hoping the video showed the front of the build. I'm curious to see how that section of the castle will appear from the outside. I looks like there may be 2 double columns of windows? Hard to tell just from the box.

Probably need to start a 2022 thread. Anyhow, our friends on IG have a list of new Creator sets for next year. A Viking ship and a townhouse are both on the list. It could be a great year for Creator again!

Without looking, I seem to remember at least 2 GWPs being normal. One during Black Friday, and another later in December. Last year was frustrating because they sold out of almost any set I was willing to buy in order to get the GWP. I hope that's not the case this year.

A new leak on IG says it’s called “Santa’s Visit”, a light blue cottage with 5 minifigs.

I'm all for new dinosaurs in Lego form. But to my casual observation, the Allosaurus looks a lot like a T-rex. How would Lego differentiate these two species in Lego form? They already use the same body for the T-rex and Carnatosaurus. How would they design an allosaurus that looked distinct from these two (not to mention the Indo-rex)?

Two initial thoughts. It's the same dinos we already have, just recolored. Okay, I'll still buy them just to have variety, especially for dinos that roam in packs. The vehicles are superfluous to me, but these ones are a little more down-to-earth and usable. Overall, I like them and will probably buy all of them, but I do hope for more new dinos in the future.

I too bought the folding tables. Another problem is that they sag in the middle. That really bothers me as well.

Pepe has been excluded from the new Space Jam movie due to concern over his "his sexually aggressive nature, forcing his unwanted advances on female characters — including a cat named Penelope". You can agree or disagree with this. But cancel culture has already decided Pepe Le Pew will not be commercially viable moving forward.

Just build my Spring Lantern Festival (80107). It's lovely! But is anyone else disturbed by the fact that you need to push the bull's sphincter to make it light up? On a more serious note. I love the 2021 shirts that two of the minifigures have. I checked, and it doesn't seem the previous year's sets had dated shirts. I hope sets in the future include them. I thought it was a nice touch.

Same thing happened to last year's sets. They will be back in stock. I would expect these to be made and sold by LEGO throughout this calendar year.

I just bought my roller coaster over the weekend at the local (Cleveland, US) brand store. I agree with those above that feel it won't be retired yet, but I couldn't risk it. It will be a loooong time before they do something like this again, IMO. And FWIW, it's sold out at Amazon and LEGO S&H, but it is in stock at Walmart (online). Go figure

Walmart in Ohio has them too. As well as the Christmas tree that I thought was only available as a GWP in LEGO Brand Stores.

The Spring Lantern Festival (80107) is definitely 32 x 48 studs.

The video also says that each of these two buildings will be 24 studs wide. That seems to be an odd dimension, and a very specific detail to remember when he couldn't remember the name of the building.

I love 31007 Power Mech! Actually, I might be heavily biased by the fact that it was my son's first LEGO set. I think of it very fondly for that reason.

Yeah, I think you're right. I know I have several orders right now to qualify for the GWP, but I hate waiting till November to get them. But I think I will.
