  1. Bought the AT-AT set from 2014. Decided to start using it as the subject of my photos. You can follow his travels here https://www.facebook.com/LegoTravelStory

Also might have to give it a paint job like: Other image Even the thought of that make me even more excited! EDIT: This is available in yellow! Are you sure this is not just a white balance issue with the photo? Was there ever one that is actually yellow?

    10233 Horizon Express

Its an interesting design. I am glad to see Lego finally came out with this train. It has been one of the trains I have wanted to see built for a very long time. James Mathis designed one that has striking similarities with this one. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=271230 Some common design elements - The TGV being created without stickers. Jame's design though is far more detailed then the two arrows. - The use of windows turned side ways for the passenger car. I wish they had used dark grey instead of black. I own the HO and N scale models of this train and it is clearly dark grey. Photos on the web also indicate it as being dark grey. They have definitely made use of some interesting techniques on the front of the engine, utilizing both side and upside down design for it.

    Heavy Trains & Couplers

Thanks everyone for the advice. I did try some magnets but they were not good strong enough and the train would become uncoupled on the front engine. The train is heavy and long enough that I need to power it from both ends for it to move well and the problem I kept getting, among other issues with derailing, was the front engine detaching. I have used some technic pieces to replace the couplers and that seems to be working now. Hopefully within the next month or so I will share off the creation that is almost a year in the making.

    Heavy Trains & Couplers

I am currently working on a rather long and heavy train. I don't want to reveal too with the specifics at this point, as I am waiting until its complete to reveal it. It is a 6 wide train and the issue I have right now is the magnetic coupler is not strong enough causing the train to separate. Can anyone point me to resources or designs I might use to handle using a stronger coupler. It doesn't have to be magnetic, nor does it need to be easy to separate manually. I am preferring a lego only solution. What are people using with larger heavier trains?
  6. I am trying to stack parts on top of flat tiles yet I have not figured out how to get LDD to do it. Is it possible. For example, I would like to put the two parts together (the right one is upside down).
  7. I am having trouble with LDD not allowing me to assemble parts that I can assemble in real life. The following diagram shows to assemblies. The part with the windows fits in the hole that is vacant in the other part, without any resistance, yet LDD will not allow me to combine them. Anyone know how I can get LDD to allow this?
  8. I have recently built a custom train (pictures and info of the train itself to come in the next month). When building it, I put a 9V motor at each end. I was wondering though, is it better to have one motor on each end or 2 at the front? Has anyone tested this scenario out or know which should work better?

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)

Has anyone noticed that it indicates adding 88002, which , at least from what I can tell cannot yet be ordered in the US? Are they going to make the new PF motor available to order separately? The current PF motor they have up there is the older one. There was a nice article (link not handy) that documents the new PF motors vs the old and how the new are better.
  10. I have the same issue. I have put the missing xml file in the right spot. Still nothing happens.
  11. I just tried the xml files here and I cannot import either.
