Dont "import" just open the file directly for Ldraw -
Creating functional instructions
supertruper1988 replied to theDeanoRama's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
But if you want to preserve the steps you created, release the sub model in build mode otherwise you are stepping it out all over again. -
woah these are awesome! Love the background on the pics too!

Creating functional instructions
supertruper1988 replied to theDeanoRama's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I have done hundreds of instructions in studio. What you are asking is perfectly reasonable and logical in the computer, but in the brick I find there is a better approach. Of your 3 sub models, pick which one is the "base" or "main assembly" then make that have all of its steps in the main model. then insert one of the other assemblies as a sub model in its own step and then the other submodel in another step. If you have say a repetive part that you need to build several times, at various points, then what I do is show it the first time, use the text function to say x6 or whatever then I make a second model that has only 1 step with all the parts and on those steps in the page layout, I turn off the parts list for the step and color the callout to look like the parts list. make the assembly the "part" Hope this helps. -
And one more for good measure

Bump: I added the Technic Muscle to my folder. I did have to swap around a few parts and I used the Speed Champion wheel cap in a smaller tire trick https://bricksafe.com/pages/supertruper1988/imvanya

BrickTrainDepot - Canadian Cylindrical Grain Hopper Review And Mods
supertruper1988 replied to Supplement_Creatif's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thanks for the kind words and review. I am happy to know that the instructions were clear because that is one area I dont get a lot of feedback on. (I did the instructions design for this model) As for the reporting mark, I will update going forward. Just to be clear, there are CN and CP marks for the same "Canadian Government" red paint scheme. The color was debated a bunch internally but we decided on dark red because it was the hard color to design with so changing dark red to bright red was easier for the customer. -
He has a particular posting style between those 3 accounts only creating each new one after blasting the whole hobby and getting banned then coming back 6-12 months later. He also has been posting on reddit under the u/LordsofMedieval name with the same posting style and now he is here again with the same username. The only difference is this newest post uses Studio instead of LDD and BlueRender.

He has been around for a while. Also known as @ShrikeArghast @ProvenceTristram @SteamSewnEmpire among others.

Hello LEGO Train fans! @Cale, @coaster, and myself were recently discussing the confusing nature of the naming convention we have adopted for train wheels. It made sense for a time when only a few sizes were available. We came up with this solution where the size becomes a number. All of the wheels are XX.5 plates in diameter so the number would be whole integer number of plates that corresponds to the wheel size. What are your thoughts? We will also be reaching out to Big Ben Bricks if this sizing scheme seems reasonable to most.

Running a Lego train on a different track style

He builds for Gauge 1 or G-guage which is wider than LEGO track. O-guage is narrower than LEGO track. -
Running a Lego train on a different track style
supertruper1988 replied to JohnsLegos's topic in LEGO Train Tech
If you do some seaching here there are a few folks who have setup LEGO trains to run on O-gauge track. Only on the motors. -
I mean that is kind of true. A long wheelbase FBF of even XL wheels will struggle on R40.

"Acutually knows something" I do actually know and Cale is doing some shows this week and last. I am sure he will be in touch soon.
-
I talk to Cale (owner of Brick Model Railroader) quite regularly. They are still around but it is show season. I would recommend emailing them directly instead of posting on an unaffiliated forum about it.
-
I believe they are #15 or XXXL sized at 15.5 plates in diameter

That is great! I have made custom colors already so I am more interested in how this color does the random and if it can be weighted like the LDraw_Cliff program. I would want one that is more dark grays and one that is more light grays and I would like to have dark tan mixed in. -

Can you share how you did this? I would be pretty interested especially with @SylvainLS 's random cliff generator tool
