perhaps, this is a new marketing strategy. maybe they got the conclusion that this is : "more regional hence limited productions" based on their past experiences and sales record of the other iconic buildings on the architecture line such as burj khalifa, etc. maybe this is the first of many? who knows next time they start adding for example the Sagrada Familia in Spain, and make it a limited edition, available in Europe only? Just maybe.... my 2 cents.

those are cool and decent creations for the respective ages... my son is 2 now, and all he knows in terms of LEGO is taking his dad's collection apart and hid the parts somewhere in the house ...

great review! one of my favorite set. agree with you that this is more to a display set, hence not much playability.

i did this earlier this year. it was fun hunting for the parts and waiting for them to arrive and finally to build the cafe corner. fortunately i was able to find all the necessary parts, though i missed to buy some small parts but was able to substitute it with alternate parts without problem. I ended up paying approximately EUR 375 to EUR 400 (can't remember exactly) and those are with lots of extra parts. Good luck to you, enjoy, and have fun!

hello... another newbie trying to contribute... i'm in the same boat, i like lego city sets but most of the time i build them just to get some inspiration and techniques. so in the end i scratch build my buildings (mostly on modular scale) but most of it are still in LDD form because the lack of parts :p .i wish one day i can have enough parts (and space) to showcase it. cheers!

hello... pardon me for haven't introduce myself properly, read this topic and wanted to contribute my view. like some of you, i also have the "now what" kind of feeling after my series 1 and 2 minifigs are complete. somehow i don't see it fit in any sets that i have, well probably if i create my own town then they can serve as the citizens. anyway i decided to order a custom display case and now they happily decorate my living room :D
