DC Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

So, I have just had a look at these sets in hand, and although not built them myself, my views sit around this: Lobo set - The Main Man with his Motorcycle is brilliant. Although I would have expected a use of the Nexo Knights Axel torso to have made a brilliant show here, I think a Big Fig would have been too big, and the mini-fig feels a bit too small, similar to the Mutant Leader. Krypto was awesome, although now I am annoyed that I bought 41233 to have a Krypto for my collection, he will be well received. Superman, well, it is Superman, had many of him before, will surely have many more. Lex Mech Set - Lex really needs to give up on the Mechs, this is his 3rd mech and although it looks like it can do some work, Lex mechs are killing me... This is the 5th Lex Luthor figure we have had, and I would really have preferred to have seen something else this time around. Also, why is Lex in a fight with Wonder Woman and Firestorm, he is not their enemy. If we needed to have a Lex Mech, it should have been a Mech vs Mech set Lex vs Cyborg to work a decent angle... This would have actually been the better set to include Killer Frost to combat Firestorm. Throwing Batman in there seems to really muddy the water, he also has no real link to these guys. Wonder Woman and Cheetah work, but the background chaos is distracting. Speedster Set - Flash and Zoom together in a set is great. However, again surrounding it is chaos. Another helicopter. Another bloody helicopter... How many helicopters can one company throw at us? As already stated, Cyborg would have been a great fit with Lex. Frost would have been great with Firestorm... If they wanted to have the two sets to be bought together then that might have helped, but the helicopter has been done to death. Come on!

Is anyone aware of any figures with light blue arms that I could procure for my Quicksilver figs? I used an official lego police arm before, but want him back together and would prefer to use more FLEGO with this guy. This colour - Doesnt have to be a police officer, just a compatible torso with the colour arms. Ignore that post, think I can do it with some Ninjago figs.

I need those Spidermen. So for me I use the bootleg figures for parts and for rank filling. Wolverine and Cyclops on their own, unless you can afford the rediculouse price of an SDCC Phoenix was a bit of a farce. I understand the Fox licenseing debacle, but you know what? I want X-Men! So I get them to fill the chasm left by Fox. I also love Spiderman, and we have, about 7 varients of this, so with my purist customising and purchasing the blegs I have some great Clones and multiverse splits! Has this curved my monitary expense on official LEGO sets? No, I have almost every DC and Marvel set released to Date. And if there are sets that I could get, like the Battank, because I refuse to pay over £60 for it, I picked up a filler from SY for £12. It looks great with all the other official sets. I know that people buy stuff just to hold on to until they are no longer produced, but seriously when someone charges 600 for a £60 set, they can keep waiting. I am glad that these guys have stepped in with some of it, however, using the same box art is a bit piss taky... I don't agree with that. But producing a cost effective route to obtaining the set is nice. And I am aware that I could sit there and bricklink the lot, but that is too much effort. Yeah, I said it. I will happily pay less and do less work, who wouldn't? But also, I like the customisation options that these give us. More parts in the unofficial sets are printed than the official ones which use a lot of stickers. So thats a bonus, it wlso means that if I want to do physical modifications, dremel, sculpting, or or disfiguration, I am not doing it to a figure that someone else really wants in their collection! Just to retouch on the printed parts there, this means that I will not pick up a 2nd hand set that has badly applied wonky crooked or missing ripped or partially removed stickers on it. We all know what a ball ache that is. Finally, the KOs are about the right price that you can throw them to your kids, or other people's kids when they come to visit and not damage your actual sets and figs! I mean that has to be the bigest winning factor for me. Noisy Krikkit!

So, in response to the dual moulded legs, the ones I have now are a single colour with the top halves painted a different colour. Raven is purple legs with black on the thighs, giving the dual moulded look.
