Ultimate Flying Dutchman by Bricktrix
highflyingbean replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Pirate MOCs
I'd pay $500 for a set like that. -
The flag thing cracks me up! The flags will go the direction the wind is blowing them, since the wind is blowing into the sails, the flags will be blowing toward the front of the ship, the same direction the ship is traveling. It is not at all the same as a flag on a motorboat or car!

golly you're right! hmmm, gonna have to change it maybe but I really like it!

Here is my version of TLG's "Black Pearl". Had to use two sets. The cabin is big enough to hold "Captians Cabin" set including the globe as well. (I had to upload this pic as a file? Can't figure out how to embed anymore, I have lots more...)

Well, I just bought 3 of these at Target, lets see what I can make.

Just got a brand new in box 10210 Imperial Flagship (my third) for $150 garage sales are wonderful! Gonna hang onto this one maybe and sell it in a few years see if I can make some money off of it since I play with the other two. -
Every single one, including the islander boats and the one in the trading post. Also have multiples and MOCS... would be fun to get them together for a picture.
-
I'd say maybe you could get 10 bucks for it if you are able to sell it at all. If its not new and sealed, that particular set has almost no value as it is not at all sought after like some of the other sets. Basically, its a piece of crap set.

I put my "flaming skeleton" in a more of an upright position, also raised the cannons by one flat 2x4 which alows them to stick out the ports at an angle of your choosing, much better.

When I made my pirate version I got the front end to be rock solid, I could hold the whole ship by the front. Supported the whole structure in kind of an upsidedown L shape, used some tech peices too, all belnded in very nicely. Can't remember all the details but there are a million ways to mod a ship, strengthen it, and get it just how you want. Wish I had pics to show how I did it, but it should be easy to figure out various ways to do whaty you want.

Just bought TWO sets of these together for $81! Amazing!

I have bought a few with only minor parts missing (not like a canon!) and sails in great condition for around $70. Complete good condition ones can goo for near $150. There is a complete one on EBAY right now for a buy it now of $129. The ridiculous priced ones are the ones that are sealed new in the box.

Has anyone noticed that the QAR used to have just striped sails in some of the early pictures we have?
