LDD MOC: High Speed Train Project

Thanks, these just come from messing around in LDD when I was bored, I wasn't trying to make anything spectacular and this is the result. Whenever I did try to make something spectacular, I just failed.

    [MOC] BR Class 04

Nice, is it motorized? I've never seen those wheels btw The thing you said about the black doors begs the question? Has anyone ever tried painting LEGO parts in official lego colours in the situation that the part in the desired colour is too expensive, too rare, or the part is not produced in that colour? LDD MOC: High Speed Train Project

Thanks for letting me know Funny you say that because I was already thinking of swapping out the current bogies with Jacobs's bogies, and there is no need to conform so I will go with that observation car I may make a locomotive + B-Unit to make up for the lack of a rear locomotive. The next car to be finished is a sleeper car, I want the train to go: Locomotive B-Unit Baggage/Kitchen Dining Car Lounge Car Sleeping Car Observation Car Any idea for other carriages? God Bless Christ be with you all.

    2016 Lego trains

$50!!!!!!! Good thing I plan on moving to the United States, I know that (in stores at least), the most you tend to get of a LEGO set here in Australia is %20 If AFOL trains don't sell enough, mabye LEGO should just release more track packs and train part packs (wheels, couplers, pantographs, cow catchers, etc) and leave it up to the AFOL's to design their own trains (and upload the instructions to LEGO.com if they choose so that novices (such as myself) can get instructions) Amazing models btw, are there any interior details in that passenger car? $50!!!!!!! And if possible, smaller motors, battery boxes (especially) and receivers. Amazing models btw, are there any interior details in that passenger car? God Bless Christ be with you all.

Lego trains are expensive enough as it is, it wouldn't surprise me if the price was jacked up just because it was a train, it doesn't help that LEGO is already too expensive in Australia, for example, 60051 (2014LEGO CITY High-speed Passenger Train) is AUD$229.99 (USD$176.38). I'm not complaining at all though, this earth is not my home. God Bless Christ be with you all
  9. Thanks for letting me know, it's a bugger, how else could I do doors in that size then? The door design on the Emerald Night and Horizon Express are nice but too unrealistic for me, I would rather have non-functioning simulated doors, which would probably prevent the project from getting support. God Bless Christ be with you
  10. Taking a break from my High Speed Train Project, I decided to once again attempt an Amfleet car, easier said than done due to the curved design of the car, I also plan on building a AEM-7 to go with it and upload the locomotive and passenger car to Lego Ideas. The carriage is 8 studs wide, I attempted to make it 6 studs wide since it's going on Lego Ideas, but because of the way the body of the passenger car curves inwards on the bottom (and top), it looked horrible being 6 studs wide. The car contains 22 seats and a bathroom (inspired by the Horizon Express bathroom), opening external doors, I have not built internal doors (yet), the real train has sliding doors, but that is not possible (at least for me, I'm sure someone else could do it) with LEGO, currently the passenger car contains 662 pieces, but that number will be increased when I add opening internal doors. The bogies are able to swivel 360 degrees which will allow them to turn with ease on the tight turns of standard LEGO track. Please also check out Shupp's Amtrak AEM-7 and Amfleet Coach from 2011. LDD MOC: High Speed Train Project

Thanks I wanted to do an observation car, but I'm thinking it may look weird on a high speed train, what would you prefer? (that question is for everyone) the locomotive will make use of the large airplane cockpit peice. The plans for double deckers cars are off, I just couldn't make them look good. God Bless Christ be with you all.

    60051 Fleshed out

Thanks for the excellent idea of transisiton cars, I would have never thought of them, it gives much more room than making a bilevel car with a roof height the same as the other cars, I will be using it in my LDD high speed train project. God Bless Christ be with you.

LDD MOC: High Speed Train Project

I have completed the lounge car, the OP said it was going to be a double decker but I decided against that as I plan on making some double decker cars with regular seats on top and sleeper cabins on the bottom, I will be using transition cars (an idea I got from Bartybum with his excellent 60051 Fleshed out), anyway, onto the lounge car, the lounge car is the first car to contain a toilet, which sadly I could not fit into a 2 stud gap which means I had to offset the central internal doors by 1 stud to fit the toilet, the lounge car contains a TV, 2 couches as well as 2 swiveling armchairs, a piano and a bar with a 2 drink maximum (as the Bible says in Ephesians 5:18, "And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;"). The designs for the piano and bar are based off of these videos: Sorry for the poor internal photos, it's hard to position the camera inside buildings in LDD. Another concern I have for if anyone were to build this in real life, the baggage/kitchen car contains 492 peices, the dining car contains 512 peices and the lounge car contains 570 peices, and this is all without minifigs, and I plan on building more carriages (at least 7 as it is the biblical number of completion), would a sinlge power functions motor be able to pull all those pieces, the train is already 1574 bricks, and some of those are large pieces. I have exceeded my alloted disk space for attachments so here is a mediafire link to the .lxf file. http://www.mediafire...b/loungecar.lxf God Bless Christ be with you all.

Second update. I decided to go with the advice for moving the bogies closer to the end of the cars, I also improved the way the bogies were attached to the body, the couplers are still attached to the body instead of the bogies, I may place those on turntables allowing them to move more freely. Here is the pictures of the baggage/kitchen car and an updated .lxf file as well as some pictures. Enjoy and God Bless, hopefully someone builds this in real life and sees how it performs. Christ be with you all.
