  1. Well I bought the Desert Skiff a couple of weeks ago from lego.com in the UK and I've just been on to have another look at Jabba's Palace and possibly talk myself into buying it. But now none of the latest wave sets are showing up, except for the UCS R2D2. Does anyone know what's going on?
  2. Since we already have all of the current OT sets (except for the new ATAT, but we have the motorised one, and the Imperial Shuttle, which I can't afford), I ordered the Bounty Hunter gunship and the Clone battlepack. I was surprised to realise we have most of the current CW sets too. I suppose that letter from the bank manager is due any day now. The ARF trooper wasn't listed during checkout, but it was added to the order at the end and was on the email confirmation.

May the Forth Be With You 2011

Well, I was up around 6:30am anyway (thanks to the lovely little boys) so I ordered a couple of sets. The ARF figure was not listed during checkout but did show at the end, and on the email confirmation. (I was a bit surprised - and a little embarrassed - to realise that we already have almost all of the current wave of sets! )
  4. Dear Zzz, thank you for your lovely welcome! I do enjoy this forum, it's very friendly and of course I don't have to pretend it's all 'just for kids' ;)

  5. Welcome to EB, Beatrix Fett! You shared some very wise opinions on the SW 2011 topic, I enjoyed reading it! Just coming out of your dark age you are already completely "in it", are you not?

    cheers

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Well, I for one am very excited! Even though our (my and my son's) collection is primarily OT, and I'm disappointed there are no OT sets, there's lots to like here. I've been a huge Fett fan ever since seeing ESB (my username was supposed to be 'Beatrix Fett' but unfortunately that part didn't make it for some reason). We loved seeing the Mandalorians in CW, so we will definitely be getting a Mando battlepack or five As I only came out of my 'dark times' a couple of years ago, we didn't have any of the old Slave Is, or Jango, so I was thrilled to get the new Slave, and now we can easily add a (pseudo) Jango from the new BPs. With new helmets! I'm surprised there isn't a Pre Viszla/generic commander in the pack but perhaps that will change for the final version? Since we don't have a republic V-Wing and my son is dead set on getting Palpy's shuttle, and I will generally buy anything involving Imperial forces, we're definitely going to need an Imperial V-wing to accompany it. I'm quite taken with the new grey astromech too And as a fan of all things Fett, I'm also very partial to bounty hunters and I love - LOVE! - that Clone Wars has so many great female characters: Jedi, dark side gals and bounty hunters. So the bounty hunter ship will be on the list too. Before the pics came along, I thought the Jedi shuttle would be a bit of a boring set. But just to buck the trend on this thread, I actually really like the look of it (even though the wings are completely out of scale)! I do hope we can fit two (or perhaps by some miracle, all four) minifigs in it. I'll be very disappointed if we get another Rogue Shadow scenario where a transport ship can only hold its pilot! But either way, we just gotta have Shaak Ti!

Review: 8089 Wampa Cave & Snowspeeder

What a splendid review! Rufus, your reviews are so thoughtful and thorough - and more than a little witty - that they not only make me want to get the set, they make me feel like I've played with it myself! Well, since we already have the Hoth Rebel Base, Echo Base, and Motorised AT-AT, it's really unthinkable that we wouldn't get this too. Originally I was thinking it was quite overpriced - and I still think it seems a bit expensive for what you get - but your review has made me appreciate the set much more. Little touches like the design of the cave, the 'carcass' and the Wampa with its minfig-holding hand have got me quite excited to get the set, rather than the 'oh, well I suppose we will have to get it' feeling I had originally.

    White Boba Fett review

The original designs for Boba Fett had him in an all-white costume. I suppose they thought he was just not going to be able to keep it clean enough, what with all the jetpacking and disintegrations.

    Future Star Wars Sets

I only recently came out of my 'dark times', thanks to LSW and my son, so there are still some classic ships that we don't have. Number one on that list is the Millennium Falcon. We would love to see a new MF system/minifig set, perhaps taking the best of 4504 with some more up-to-date design and styling from the UCS set. For a big set, the Jedi Temple seems like a terrific idea. Make it a nice model of the temple externally (not to scale obviously!) which opens up to show the Council chamber above with the library/holocron archive below (since the library is featured in both the PT and CW), and perhaps a 'youngling/jedi training area' (we will gloss over the infanticide scene in ROTS since I don't think that would be a selling point for young children or their parents!) Minifigs: While an entire Jedi High Council would be unlikely, we could hope for Yoda, Mace WIndu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi Mundi, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Shaak Ti, perhaps Stass Allie and of course Anakin/Darth Vader (pre-mask). Plus an exclusive Jocasta Nu! This would be for a ROTS-themed set but if they went the CW route then we could have Cad Bane instead of Dark Anakin...

    8099 Midi-scale Star Destroyer REVIEW

Thank you fallenangel for your lovely review I buy and build LSW with my son, so we are mainly focused on System/minifig-scale sets. But I bought the midi-scale MF because we don't have a Falcon set, and we couldn't afford either the money or the space (!) for a UCS Falcon (amazing as it is). Similarly, I don't know if we'll ever get the minifig-scale ISD, so this might make a nice alternative. I don't love the look of it as much as the midi-MF, but if it comes down a bit in price, like the MF did, then we'll get one for sure. In fact, if it goes on sale - like the MF - it will probably be quite good value just for parts! It was great to see your build though, especially how the core is constructed and how the other parts connect to it. Thank you!

    Star Wars sets anyone?

Amazon.co.uk are currently selling 8087 TIE Defender for £21.51 with free shipping. Their prices fluctuate, but this is the cheapest I've seen it for yet. (edit: price even lower!)

    Star Wars sets anyone?

Hello everybody this is my first post. [EDIT: My apologies, this had already been posted in the UK Sales thread - I missed it because I was only looking in the LSW forums.] Tesco in the UK have Battle Of Endor 8038 in a "Summer Clearance 50% off" deal, so it's going for £37.48. I've just ordered one and I'm already thinking I should have got two! They also have Millenium Falcon 7778 in the same 50% deal for £14.98. I hope this will be of interest to some of the UK brickers.
