Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Huh, I think you're right. Maybe they play Romeo and Juliet with that balcony? ?

MOC Modular Bakery (First Floor) (WIP)

I really liked some of the suggestions that were made here, and incorporated them into a second draft, as it were, of the bakery. I also designed a second floor, see the photos after the revamped bakery photos below. Here are some photos of the ground floor: Front: Back: Top: Work table and oven: Checkout counter: Front bench: Garbage out back: And next, the photos of the second floor. The stairs go up to a small landing with two doors, one to a studio apartment, and the other to a pantry/storage for the bakery. Here's the front: An angle shot (the sign would be for the bakery): Top view: The part of the bakery's pantry that includes the fridge. I tried designing several fridges on my own, and while they were fine, I just really loved the fridge design used by nolnet, which is what you see here: Pantry shelving: The kitchen of the studio apartment. You can also see the dresser, and a little bit into the bathroom: The apartment's desk and comfier chair, as well as fridge: The bed and bookshelf area. Please forgive the red tile in the bottom right corner, I took this shot before I finished painting everything in LDD: And the toilet:

    WALL-E micro characters.

Love it! WALL-E is great, and M-O is just perfect! Any chance you'll post up instructions for WALL-E?

MOC Modular Bakery (First Floor) (WIP)

Sorry, I'm pretty new to EB, and therefore to the intricacies of naming topics! :) Is there a way I can change it to WIP in the title? Thanks! If you look at the second to last picture, you can see the oven. I Googled bakery ovens and found something similar. It has multiple racks so you can bake lots of loaves simultaneously.

    [WIP] Ninjago Torso Decals

Well, full disclosure, I'm using Photoshop. I use two different methods: 1) If I want a more thinly tapered look, like with the wrinkles at the bottom, I use the Pen tool to draw a curve twice as long as the line I want, then right-click and select 'Stroke Path', and make sure 'Simulate Pressure' is checked in the pop-up box. This draws a tapered line using the size and color of your Brush tool. 2) If I want a thicker taper, like the lines in the collar area, I'll do the same as method 1, except I don't check the 'Simulate Pressure' box. This gives me a straight, clean line, and I come back in with the Eraser tool and just erase bit by bit by hand until I get the look I want. You could do method 2 easily in Paint by just drawing a line and then coming back and erasing along its length. A steady hand or a pen tablet are a big help, though :)
  10. I wanted to try creating a modular in LDD (don't really have the pieces to make it any other way, but that will hopefully change soon). I thought a bakery would be fun to try. I couldn't figure out a way to populate the shelving with bread/pies/pretzels/croissants in LDD, just imagine that it's there :) From the front: From the back: Top view: With the storefront hidden to see more detail: Closer in on the oven in back: And lastly, a detail shot of how the bakery shelving works: I might still add some sidewalk, and maybe a bench or a light out front. We'll see :)
  11. I'm working on making replicas all four of the original Ninjago torsos. Lord Tyrus asked me to create these, and I thought others might be interested as well. So far, I have the white and the red: Edit: And now also the blue one:
  12. Do you have any in particular in mind?

    I'll see what I can do :)
  15. Thank you! This tutorial saved me. I just joined the forum yesterday, and I had made a Tactical Vest decal for another member which I wanted to post in the Decal Wishlist, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to do. It took me a moment to figure out what the next logical steps beyond this tutorial were. In case this is helpful to anyone else who's new here, I did the following: 1) Once my photo was uploaded to Brickshelf, I clicked on the thumbnail to embiggen it. 2) I right-clicked on the large photo and opened it in a new tab 3) Copied the URL from the address bar 4) Selected the 'Image' icon from the editor in the new post I was creating on Eurobricks Forum. 5) Pasted the URL.
