Index of LDD builds found in Lego video games
Randal posted a topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
EDIT by Admin: See second post below for index to this topic. Thanks Randal for the idea to this topic. Thanks Brickdoctor for indexing I wanted to start a topic for LDD Builds from the Tt games that are not MOCs and are not official sets. If you already have some of these and would like to post them here, you are welcome to do so. It just seems like there are a lot of fun builds in there that I'd like to get a closer look at and this seems like a good place to compile a collection of them. [Edit:] If you have builds from other games, such as Lego Racer or Lego Universe, don't be afraid to post them here. While it says Tt games, I basically meant "Lego video game builds." I realize we're on a site that splits hairs, so it might have been in err that I specifically named a single game developer. I have it on good authority that Brickdoctor is open to this idea as well. -
[KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in LDD
Randal replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I just finished 5974-1 Galactic Enforcer with no replacement bricks and only one collision error. When I am not quite so tired, I shall load it here. All I have left to add are the minifigs and I'd rather get some sleep before work instead. I checked to see if the colors were legal, but since this had to be built in extended mode, a lot of bricks showed up unable to be purchased.- 5035 replies

[KEY TOPIC] LDD 4 Bugs and brick errors
Randal replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I noticed last year that you have to be more careful with technic connections than standard ones, as they are more apt to be misaligned when joined. Sometimes it's just a matter of going back and finding that one of your connector pins is off a little and throwing the rest of your build off. I was trying to use the Atlantis visor a second time as Iron Man's faceplate, but could not because it no longer connects to any helmet. (I had to use Boba Fett's helmet instead, which actually worked out pretty okay... ) -

Either you didn't pay attention to what this index is, or you accidentally posted it in the wrong place. But this is for displaying sets designed by Lego. There is another index for displaying MOC's. =)- 5035 replies

I was working on this Hoberman Sphere in LDD (based on a picture I saw of one online) and I knew I would have some fine tuning collision errors. What I didn't count on was my lack of the patience required to fix and finagle it into completion. If this sounds like a fun challenge for any of you, I encourage you to download my LXF and post the finished results here for all to enjoy. (Including me.) I made this in unlimited mode, so I didn't really bother to check if it has proper PaB compatibility. (Not one of my strong suits, sorry Aanchir...) Since I consider this a community project, feel free to post a color corrected version here if you wish. Incomplete Sphere LXF

LDD Hoberman Sphere
Randal replied to Randal's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That looks like the one. Can we please keep images at a manageable size? Thanks. =) -
You should try making an Hoberman Sphere... I don't know if a full scale one is possible, but it would be fun to see a Lego version.

Restoring backgroundless screenshots in 4.1
Randal posted a topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I need to find out how to keep LDD from adding the background to its screenshots in the latest version of LDD. I suppose there was probably a request for the ability to use the provided backgrounds in the screenshots feature of LDD, but for those of us who paste the backgroundless models on top of our own backgrounds, I would hate to see that option go away. So if there is some line of code I can add or remove from my version to exclude the provided backgrounds from screenshots, please let me know, as this would make my life so much easier. I am fully aware that TLG would not be responsible for any performance issues that resulted. -

I'll try that after I finish making today's comic. That did the trick, thanks. =) -

It shows the current changeable background. Like the desert or space or the oceanic islands, etc. Specifically the desert dunes. -

I've always clicked on the camera in the upper left corner of the LDD menu. I'll try the ctrl+ option next time. Thanks. If that doesn't fix it, I may have to reinstall the program or something. ---After checking--- For some reason it's still adding the background to my png's, even with the ctrl+k. The only thing different between today and yesterday was the download and installation of LDD4.1 ... -

I haven't tried it myself, so I figured I'd ask... did you have to finagle those wheels into those tracks or do they lock in proper? (I suppose I could check, but I'd rather this article get a bump...) =O -

Heh. It looks like a Doberman, which reminds me of "Alpha"... ('Up' was on tv this weekend.) -
in the "edit" drop down there will be a "preferences" tab. In that you need to look for a bar that says "Compatibility mode" and make it look like this "||========". Also, there will be a graphics bar that should also be set to the left if you're having problems. Essentially, you're going to need to put all graphics on minimal settings and see if the program works better. Others might have further solutions, but that's the basics.

I honestly had blinders on because I was playing the Tt games when I made this topic. I had forgot that they weren't behind LU (But probably should have been overseeing it, judging from LU's current fix...)... I basically wanted a place for Lego Game Builds that you don't see anywhere else. There's some pretty awesome stuff in there. I'm all for making this an all Lego Game index. I don't know how to change the topic, but I'm sure Superkalle either can do it himself or show me how. (Especially since I misspelled Travellers, thinking it was spelled the regular way.) And you're welcome, DrNightmare. I love the ride on Dinosaur skeleton too. [i edited the first post to include builds found in all Lego video games.] -

Here is my best guess at the little hover pod from "Joker's Home Turf", The first level in the Joker story. As far as I can tell, I only had to replace one brick, which would be an inverted version of the one you see off to the side. I don't exactly know how they built the original toxic waste collection canister either. As far as the colors go, I'm sure Aanchir will get them sorted out. LXF File [Edit:] I noticed that I forgot the windshield so I updated the LXF, but not the image file here. I'm sure Brickdoctor will update his thumbnail though, to better reflect the build. Also, the only reason Robin is in this build is because you need his collector suit to make this. I reworked Robin to include an approximation of the collector suit. This suit would be totally feasible if the plate on the back could be centered on a hollowed brick knob, as I would have used rooftops instead of wedges and the five knobbed 1x1 brick to tie it all together. (also, I changed Robin's hair from the Riddlers hair to one that looks more like Robin's hair.) -

Wow. I had imagined this as builds of things that the characters build throughout the games, but I like that you're recreating other background stuff. My next stab at this is going to be the little hovering toxic clean-up vehicle from... I can't remember which level. There is a non-clean-up version of it in the level you unlock after achieving Super-Hero status in all the hero levels. First things first though. I have to unlock LU mode on my new laptop. -

If you're unsure about what colors to pick as you retro-engineer a game build, there is no need to worry. We have enlisted the help of Aanchir, who will download your link, color correct the model to the best of his expertise and post a corrected file into a central brickshelf account which Brickdoctor will use to index from. I made it specifically for this index so that we have things streamlined and regulated. This will be done automatically, so you do not need to ask for this service to be performed on your build. If you want to participate in this thread, but don't have any Tt Lego games, Matanuilover has found a way around this as he has explained in one of his earlier posts. -

I own Lego Batman and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, So my builds from those will be from studying the models as I make my characters put them together. I'll soon have the Indiana Jones games as rentals. I already rented the Harry Potter one, and may eventually buy it, though it's not as fun as Batman... there's no senseless rampaging around, destroying everything in sight. At least, not in the levels I played. Matanuilover's method sounds like it's more accessable though, as not everyone has ready access to these games. I recommend getting ready access to them though. They are a lot of fun to play. -

@Aanchir: While I appreciate your quest for perfection, I'm pretty sure there's a rule in this forum about re-posting images in quoted posts. Up next we have the Killer Plant Vehicle from the Green Fingers level of Lego Batman. It is possibly my favorite build in any Lego Licensed game I've seen yet and was the inspiration for this topic. LXF File I had to cheat to get that image. It's an edited photo. You can't seat a figure in a chair with that hair. As for why she has a green torso instead of light nougat, call me modest, but there's no bustier that I can decorate onto a light nougat torso and I'm not posting a topless Poison Ivy in this forum. Tt cheated as well. Those bottom front teeth are impossible to place the way they did it. There are some parts in the neck they used that LDD doesn't have, so I replaced them the best I could. The pieces that make up the back of the head were replacements for parts that I can't find in LDD. The colors are the best I could approximate them, as I can't exactly trust the color adjustments on my CRT TV. (I know... pity me.) If you consider my post to be an introduction, then it won't matter that Brickdoctor's index is the second post. It honestly looks fine to me. Especially since my first post is so short. -

This makes me want to explore other options for making Brick. Though, I sort of already have a set style that only LDD can provide. -

Poison Ivy Flower Car: Green Fingers (Villain Level) LXF File Either Tt cheated twice or I missed a couple steps. On the front, the only way I was able to get both leaf bricks on was with a cheat. I may have just miscalculated and there's a slightly different configuration there. The second one is on the flower stem. It appears to have two mini cones butted in a way you can't butt them. So I went with a slightly different configuration. I'm currently working on the "Feed me, Seymour!" walking plant from this same level and I'm going to edit the colors in this one.
