LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

Recommended Posts

There is no character visible in the concept art, nothing's really 'revealed'... it's just a location & a ship, both of which may be substantially different in the final film, like the TIE Darth Punk posted (maybe it's in the film, maybe it morphed into the V-ship we see in the teaser & the Celebration poster & the new Lego set's manual--both have tall wings, after all)

As I said, I personally have no issue with it but I know others were making a big issue of any sort of 'spoiler' being posted in this thread. Just look back a few pages to get a taste of some of the outrage!

Pretty sure i am covered by this ;)

Hmmm . . . Given that this thread I was quoting hasn't had any adverse reaction so far, and the MOC is based on concept art, easily Googleable, I think I'm safe quoting another post, don't you?

While i dont argue your main point and personally i don't see anything wrong as that was one of the first images that was widely spread everywhere (and which made me realise id have to hide away to avoid stuff, despite how cool an image it is).

While I am not referring to anything particular you have posted, more to your perception, the fact something can be 'easily googled' does not make it an open invite to post up on forums claiming that it isn't spoilers because it can be googled.

Do you think people who don't want to see spoilers go googling everything possible in order to spoil it for themselves just because it is on google? To google something for a 'spoiler avoiding person' makes them a non avoiding spoiler person.

Those that do not google spoilers makes them a spoiler avoiding person...

Now that the presence of a spoiler avoiding person has been summoned and met, i'll go unsummon myself back into the dark depths of nothingness and enjoy a few more months of darkness ^.^

I suspect the portion below the fuselage folds inward while in a v shape. And folds down to act as landing gear. I also think it's the same ship.

I'm not sure what red ship you are referring to since the only on I remember seeing as concept art looked more like a tie bomber.

That is exactly the ship I was referring to... Now reread my post, because you missed everything that I said except the word red.

I can sort of see where you're coming from with

that, the wings do look very similar in shape and size.

To be honest there is no clear candidate for this new ship. We have the fuselage from a ship that appears in a poster and is seen for about 1 second in the second movie trailer, which has wings that start at the fuselage and extend upwards (like the imperieal shuttle), then we have the "Red Barron" concept art - a TIE Bomber lookie-likie with wings that do match the new model in style (though using your wings as landing struts is a poor idea - what if they get damaged in a fire-fight?) but has a completely different fuselage which looks more like a B-29 bomber.

We only have three months to wait to find out what it actually is. I'm sure there are plenty of other things we can be getting bunched up about in the mean time.

It isn't "major spoilers" by any means. We've seen photos from Vanity Fair of Rey standing on a downed AT-AT leg... one of the first leaked set photos last year was of an AT-AT foot on its side. And rumors around the ship in the belly of the AT-AT are that it's now an abandoned concept.

I hope so! I felt that this ship looked like generic sci fi, but not really like star wars.

About the viallain's shuttle: Idon't dislike the design in general, but these wings are simply too oversized. I don't want to argue logically on the purpose of wings, because there would be no need of them, it's star wars and wings are just there to make things look awesome. But if they were only half the size they wouldd work fine without making the people think why a shuttle has to have such large wings that would only makecause problems landing in any hangar.

I disagree... I may be alone in this, but I think it's pretty obvious that the set is intended to be the v-shaped shuttle shown in the second teaser & poster.

I don't think there's any possibility that it could be anything else, honestly. We don't have any reason to believe that there's an identical but slightly different ship.

Nope, you're not alone. I think the same.

I just had a self-control test: they had the new sets at the local toystore.....I really want the Tydirium, which was priced € 110 (the RRP).

I know that the local Lego specialist store will have that set for +-€ 95 within a few days/2 weeks......so I left the store with just a switch & go dino and a plush Olaf from Frozen for the kids.

Sadly, I tihnk you may be correct, although I've been arguing heavily to the contrary. But here is the evidence:

Here is the image we are presented with as being the instruction book for the new villain's ship.

Here is a poster that seems accuratley represent what we saw in the Trailer 2 clip. I've highlighted the most glaring differences between the two.

Here is another poster that is very siilar to the first ship design - again highlighted.

Note how the wing barely extends below the fuselage and how the inner profile of the upper wing section is 'clean'. Also the front of the ship appears to have a single bank of possible 'viewing ports' on a very slim, wedge-like nose.

Now look again at how the Lego model looks and there is no similarity at all in these areas. So either this image has been doctored to throw people off, or this is an appalling reproduction by Lego with some clearly fundamental errors. I am at a loss to explain otherwise.

The only real similarity comes in the shape of the upper wing and the twin cannon mounted at the hinge point - very reminiscent of the Imperial Shuttle. So again, I question whether this is a fighter craft instead of maybe a personal shuttle.

I strongly agree with Nocturne and Jedi-Bundu. The only big difference I see between the ship on the instruction manual and the ship from the poster art is the lower part of the wing. But that part will probably fold/slide in when in flight mode.

So we've now seen 75104 (Lead Villian Vehicle). I'm guessing 75101 (Villian Star Craft) is a Tie-fighter, 75102 (Hero Starfighter) is the new X-wing and 75015 (Hero Vehicle) is the Falcon.

Then we have 75103 (Villian Transport). I think this is the ship with the 4 diagonal ion-engines we've seen twice in the second trailer. Once flying along the new shuttle and once in the hangar scene.

Leaving the two smallest sets: 75099 (Lead Hero Craft) and 75100 (Villian Craft). I have absolutely no idea what they could be. But I'm really curious to see 75100. I'm hoping it's a cheaper sets that also contains Kylo.

One other thing: most of us have seen Captain Phasma in the second trailer. Which color do you guys think the mini-fig will be? Really chrome or flat silver/silver metallic?

The 75099 wil no doubt be this one:

Star-Wars-Force-Awakens-Speeder3.jpg

I bet that this set will have Rey (without her hairpiece) and Finn (as a stormie)......and the only way to get Reys hairpiece and Finn in normal clothes will be by getting the Falcon.

On another note, does anyone else think we may finally get a new, more accurate cockpit piece with the next generation X-Wing? Hopefully a slightly smaller, minifig-scale version of the UCS cockpit. It has always bugged me how the current, frequently used cockpit has never looked right.

Yes absolutely, it is the final piece of the puzzle as far as being able to make an accurate X-wing in lego goes. I'm not sure if we'll keep getting that awful one that they keep using, but hopefully not.

I got what you said, I just don't agree. The more apt comparison would be the imperial shuttle.

Like the initial Rebels sets, there are 2 possibilities: 1) the posters are just concept art and the final design was tweaked to extend the lower portion of the wings, or 2) Lego was only given concept art to work with, and the final movie design was changed before Lego got a chance to fix their production design.

On the Lego version the bottom section of the wing is thinner than the rest of the wing. I'd bet that it either slides upwards or folds inside in some way for landing. After that, it would look real close to the ship on the poster. It must be a pretty iconic ship if it's on the poster to begin with, so why would lego build a really similar looking different ship? I have a feeling TLG will be going for all of the iconic vehicles for this first wave. Tie fighter, Rey's speeder, new x-wing, etc.

In the Netherlands, I saw the summer wave sets at Bart Smit:

Tyderium 109,99

Final Duel 89,99

Flash speeder 46,99

Naboo Starfighter 69,99

Imperial Assault Carrier: 139,99

Since the First Order is rumored to operate out of a "Castle" in the movie, do you guys think that it will appear in wave 2?

It looks like TLG is making all of the vehicles in one wave, and the buildings and battle-packs in the other.

Excellent breakdown. You've convinced me.

It would indeed be sad if you're correct though, as it's not as representative as it could be. unless we get a glaring change from concept art in the film itself.

I said quite often now but once more: the 75103 will be the stormtrooper transport. I think we only saw it from the inside.

Greetings. Hendrik

Yeah, that was my thought as well. Hopefully it is, I love the look of the engines on that ship.

I think we're on the same page here. I also think it is the stormtrooper transport (as seen in the first teaser), but my guess is that it's the same ship as the one I mentioned (with the 4 diagonal engines). We haven't seen the front of that ship, but it is possible it features a "entrance hatch" on the front like we saw in the teaser.

Dude, seriously, SPOILERS. Why dont you get that?! There's this nice discussion about the leaked picture of the set, and you go throw that out there!

Not to mention everything you said doesn't belong in this topic, as none of it is rumours or pictures or discussion of rumours.

My concern about the ship is the minifigures that are coming on it.

I do not like the design of the set. Like the Twilight, I will save some money on This one.

BUT, if it is the only one including the villain of the ep VII?

Let's remember of captain Rex, only included in one large set ( the last one does not count)
