RaincloudDustbin Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) Extremely sorry if there is already a thread for this - I checked the first couple of pages. On to the topic, I am a Nottingham Forest fan and I'm really excited about the prospect of the new owners. This thread is for general footy talk and banter. Etzel Posted October 17, 2012 If you instead start to discuss about the sport and not just list what team you support this topic can stay open. But otherwise it will be merged with the existing one that escortmad79 linked to. To help start the discussion: I truly enjoyed the epic comeback from Sweden in their game vs. Germany yesterday. Being down with 0-4 with less then 30 min left against the 2nd ranked team in the world should only go one way, but it didn't. Have you ever experienced something like that in football on that level? Edit: and also, why is not Zlatan an option in the poll?
Bilbo Baggins Posted October 18, 2012 In my case I support FCBarcelona, they've had a great start. I can't wait to see Villa regain his levl.
Palathadric Posted October 20, 2012 Sweden's comeback was epic for sure. Great playing, especially by Kallstrom...was it? Reminds me of last season, or the season before that when Newcastle came back from the same scoreline against Arsenal. Disappointing thing about both those games is that I tend to favour the two teams that were 4-0 up, but I like the teams who made the comeback as well. As far as the Messi/Ronaldo debate is concerned, I really hardly think it's debatable, I'm not exactly a Barcelona lover, and I tend to support Real Madrid over them in fact, but Messi is clearly better than Ronaldo. I hardly see any points, in terms of visible, statistical results, that Ronaldo has over Messi.
RaincloudDustbin Posted October 21, 2012 Well, it looks like somebody voted for ronny.
TheBoyWonder Posted October 22, 2012 As for me it is also Messi, and my team is Charlton Athletic Football Club, currently getting owned in the Championship.
RaincloudDustbin Posted October 22, 2012 @TheBoyWonder Lol. 2-1 to the mighty reds!
TheBoyWonder Posted October 22, 2012 Yes, we do seem to be suffering. 2 of our strikers, Yann Kermorgant and Ricardo Fuller are injured.
Bilbo Baggins Posted October 23, 2012 Barcelona's match was great, I got pretty nervous though.
XimenaPaulina Posted October 23, 2012 I'm not much of a football fan before coming from basketball-crazed Philippines, but after living for more than a year and a half already in football-lovin' Singapore, I have been exposed to the sport and to my pleasant surprise I found it exciting and the passionate fans had a lot to do with it. I really find it amusing that people gather in eating centers (and in my place, at McDonald's), to watch in unison the football matches. I'll never forget last season's EPIC last game day of the EPL where ManU and ManCity where gunning for the championship in separate matches - and we all know what happened now - with the Blues coming from an improbable come-from-behind victory over lowly QPR in extra time to win their first league title. The fan's reactions were very entertaining to watch - with ManU's supporters cheering early, knowing victory is a few minutes away - until the miraculous comeback happened - the changes in the fan's reactions were priceless! (ManCity fans/ManU haters suddenly came out of the grave and celebrated amidst the silenced ManU crowd) Right now, I can't say I'm as hardcore as a fan like most of you here, I'm just a casual fan who regularly checks the standings to see how things are going in different leagues. And which team do I follow? I root for ManU in the Premiere League and Real Madrid in La Liga. Well, it looks like somebody voted for ronny. I thought Hair Style and Looks were the main criteria. posades Posted October 24, 2012 Anyone follow MLS? The playoffs are coming up soon, which is honestly my favorite point of the season; everyone (who made it) is vying for a spot in the final.

Palathadric Posted October 28, 2012 Very impressive playing from Dortmund to beat Madrid. Go Dortmund, my new favourite team I do appreciate how these days the Champions' League seems a bit more open. I mean, we had Bate Borisov beat Bayern 3-1. Crazy stuff! Palathadric Posted October 31, 2012 Awesome comeback by Arsenal last night. They really shouldn't have gone down 4-0 in the first half, but good job in coming back, and what do you know? Chamakh has finally scored. I feel really bad for Reading though.
RaincloudDustbin Posted November 1, 2012 Reading have a lot of ex Forest players and I don't like Arsenal so I was mildly annoyed.

Palathadric Posted November 7, 2012 Is anyone else digging the fact that Dortmund are leading the group of death in the Champions' League and that there is actually somewhat of a chance for Ajax to go through together with them. After the first two games I thought that Ajax would turn out to be the whipping boys of the group and Real Madrid and Manchester City would top the group easily, but I'm not disappointed that I was wrong. Since this season started I have really begun to notice and enjoy Dortmund's playing.
Brickadeer Posted November 7, 2012 Dortmund won the national Championship in 2010/11 and 2011/12. I think their international performance in the last CL season was pretty bad, and I didn't expect them to perform that good in this season, especially not since Kagawa left the team. I'm very curious if they make it to the finals.
RaincloudDustbin Posted November 7, 2012 Reus is a fab player.
Palathadric Posted November 7, 2012 For some reason I had the impression that Kagawa was just standing in for Gotze at the time. I'm giving the Budesliga to Bayern Munchen this time around, I think. I would really love to see Dortmund make it to the finals of the Champions' League. Perhaps an all-German finals. Shalke are looking pretty good as well in Europe. They did get to the semi-finals not long ago as well. And kudos to Celtic on their historic win! I enjoy seeing less famous teams take down the big names.
