Pictures of new PF L and Servo motors

Recommended Posts

I was looking forward to using those servo motors for pneumatic switch's,but the models i was hoping to use them for would need 4-10 servo motors.

So i think I will hang off to see if the price falls a bit,any one got any idea on how long it might be to the price drops a bit?

Wow, that's a lot more expensive than the other PF motors :(

That's business. I guess they want to pursuade you to buy the whole set, not just the new motors.

We are getting a bigger boat in 2014.

Hi,

How come Lego did not use a voice coil in the servo motor, the same thing is used to move the read arm on a hard drive they are incredible fast and incredibly accurate.

Nice video. Will you please make a video with the servo motor attached to a pneumatic switch?

I don't have to film it to tell you that it will work.

Hey Tim,

if you are interested in attaching the servo motor to a pneumatic switch, have a look at my design studies for an autovalve. This may give you an idea about how this can be done. I will test it as soon as I get the motor or it is released by ldraw.org.

cheers,

Boris

At the very least, you'd need to connect the servo to the switch via an 8T/16T reduction (or other gear train that yields 2:1) or a suitable linkage, to convert the servo's +-90º range into the switch's +-45º range. That way, you won't need an unreliable train controller.

Nice video. Have you tried hooking up one of the servo motors to one of your crawlers or truck trial trucks?
