MOC: Alien Conquest train

What might happen if the aliens suck the brains of too many train enthusiasts...? ;)

I've had this – not really serious – idea of building a train for our beloved green aliens for some time, and with the Alien Conquest sets now on discount, I got some more sets and parts and put this train together.

(Would this fit better in the Train forum? Well, I think it's specialized enough for this Sci-Fi forum, but if the mods think otherwise, feel free to move it.)

Let's start with the engine – using quite an alien design, of course. :) The aliens decided to use an experienced human driver...

Unfortunately, the motor doesn't have enough traction for pulling the entire train; there's just not enough weight on top of it. If I ever really want to run this thing on my upcoming layout, I'll have to change that (move the motor to the next car, for instance)...

Communications and crew car: communication at the front, and then the crew listening to their master's orders:

Two identical standard gliders from one of the AQ sets:

Four capsules (from the tripod set) and two grapplers (from the mothership) to hold and handle the captives:

The lab car with the grappler operator in the front, followed by the medical lab for which the green aliens hired specialists from another planet; and at the end the brain sucker breeding section:

And finally the big ray cannon. What would an alien invasion vessel be without a big cannon?

Uh-oh, I better leave!

Great! Love the pods for the captives! Great to see some AC MOCS flourishing after the recent discounts! I have another I hope to post today.

Haha, I am not a train person, but I love seeing how people mix trains and other themes! And this must be the one of the most creative and funny trains I saw!

As someone who loves to mix and match themes, I really like this. The detail and functionality of the various cars is perfect, so in the spirit of the alien-ness of it, I give this MOC three thumbs up.

Ha! This is great! I particularly like the pod section. I think that's the most pods I've ever seen put together, and I like it! I think the front segment could be larger and more compact, like one of the 2 long segments you have further back, and that would provide a bit more weight too. Overall, very sweet!

Nice one, if there is one thing we need its more Space trains :)

Definitely one of the best AC MOCs I have seen.

Hmmmm what' the best word to describe this?

I think I'll go with adorawesome.

This is truly fantastic merging of the two themes. Wonderfully executed!

The pods are great... as is the medical lab. Really creative build.

I think it fits a great addition to the Sci-Fi forum.

Love it! Very well designed. I think the engine itself looks a little underwhelming, but I get that you wanted it to look like alien tech and not just a morphed human train engine. Still, maybe you could bulk up the front end of it and solve your weight problem at the same time.

Good thing the aliens use standard Lego gauge, eh?

It's a nice coincidence, I just bought the EDHQ and was thinking this morning that the aliens definitely need some more firepower and ground-based vehicles to match the ADU's heavy weaponry. Such a shame AC ended so soon, I would have loved to see another wave with at least one alien tank to throw up against the HQ. This train would fill that niche very nicely!

Wow! I love it. I love how you added parts from the sets in there along with your creative genius! Very funny and clever creation. All the different stations are great.

This is really nice and just makes me even sadder Lego dropped AC after just one wave.

The capture container filled with humans and them being examined by the grays is great!

Nice to see some more AC aliens. I like MOCs where the minifigs are actually inside like in your railway wagons, to often we get sets with space craft or whatever with huge big gaps that let all the alien (Or human) atmosphere out. I am a fan of trains as well!

Well Done!

This could be an actual set it is so good.

LEGO are you paying attention? We want another wave of AC. Shame it was dropped after only one go. Hopefully it is just on hiatus.

I love the concept, and really like the comm. car, and the ray gun. Maybe this will be the new space monorail?

Thanks again, everyone!

By the way, regional train company Agilis actually uses lime and gray for their trains – including (since this year) the line that took me to Legoland Günzburg today, fittingly. The people inside didn't seem more alien than usual, though. :)
